“Fine, if you’re going to join, then just join. But don’t cause any trouble,” Cheng Shuyu, who seemed to be preparing for his next schedule, warned his sister again during a brief makeup touch-up. “If you’re trying to build some kind of image, don’t do it at the expense of hurting the two kids.”

Aunt Yun didn’t want to chase Cheng Shuangyi away; every second this woman spent in the Shen household felt like torture to her.

But if she tried to stop her now, she would only come across as unreasonable.

“Then you speak. Say what you want and leave.”

Shen Qiyue made a face at her, but Aunt Yun ignored her, hoping that Cheng Shuangyi might actually change and help Shen Qiyue, this little child, change too.

What she didn’t know was that everything Shen Qiyue had done was actually secretly encouraged by Cheng Shuangyi.

Without Cheng Shuangyi, Shen Qiyue would never have been so reckless.

That had completely humiliated her, and she had fled in shame.

Now, her mom had come to her, expressing a willingness to join the show. Shen Qiyue felt as though the heavens had finally answered her prayers. She was elated beyond measure.

But her mother didn’t seem to share that view. Cheng Shuangyi shifted her tone, “Since I’ve decided to join, shouldn’t my baby reject certain people?”

“I just don’t want things to get too awkward later on, so some people need to realize their place and stop thinking about joining the variety show with my baby.”

Shen Qiyue was visibly stunned. She didn’t want to bring up how Qian Xu hadn’t agreed to join with them in the first place.

But she had forgotten that there was another variable in the room. Shen Qinian, with great confidence, patted his chest and reassured their mother, “Mom, don’t worry, no one will fight you for the spot on the variety show.”

Cheng Shuangyi’s face suddenly darkened: “What do you mean? Does this mean Qian Xu hasn’t agreed to join the variety show with you?”
