The Female Supporting Character Who Accompanied The Main Character Through Poverty Has Awakened: Chapter 34- 4

{“Impartially, she also gave Shen Qi a slap.” 4}

“I can see that you really love your children,” Shen Qi said, not needing to plot anything out. He simply continued to ask layer after layer of questions. “You’re so heartbroken over them, aren’t you? You think they’ve suffered under Qian Xu’s care, right?”

“I didn’t mean that,” Cheng Shuangyi replied, less openly this time, almost casually. “I just believe that my children, under my guidance, will receive the most well-rounded development. After all, I’m their biological mother.”

Shen Qi raised his eyelids slightly, his gaze still devoid of any warmth or empathy. He finished the half-bottle of Martini in one go. “I can feel your deep love for your children.”

Cheng Shuangyi couldn’t help but feel a sense of satisfaction. She took off her heavy slippers and stepped onto the soft velvet carpet, then “accidentally” stepped on the man’s toes. “A Qi, what do you mean?”

She habitually assumed that Shen Qi was just giving that woman some token respect when he was out of the house, but once he returned to their home, he would come to his senses.

They were not just themselves; they were filled with endless memories.

Cheng Shuangyi picked a strawberry from the fruit plate and offered it to Shen Qi’s mouth. “You want me to move in?”

“No need,” Shen Qi replied. “What I mean is, since you care so much about your children, why don’t you take them back and raise them properly?”

If before, Shen Qi had only suggested this, in that moment, he wasn’t just talking anymore.

He personally ordered for everything related to Shen Qi Yue and Shen Qi Nian’s belongings to be packed up and sent to the Cheng family’s home.

“A Qi, how can you do this?”

At this point, Cheng Shuangyi still lightly pounded her fist against Shen Qi’s chest.

Shen Qi seemed as though he had already decided on this course of action earlier, regretting only that he hadn’t done it sooner. “Didn’t you say you were going to appear on a variety show with your children?”

He kindly pointed out, “Let them live over there. You can also foster some relationship with them, so when you’re on TV in the future, it’ll appear more authentic.”

“As for the support, however much you need, just contact my assistant anytime.”

At this point, Cheng Shuangyi still didn’t forget to maintain her image: “Shen Qi, do you think I’m just after money?”

“Fine, I’ll have my assistant give you everything without taking a penny,” Shen Qi replied, no longer offering even the minimum economic support, effectively leaving it all to Cheng Shuangyi. “After all, with the Cheng family’s background, raising two children should be more than enough.”

Shen Qiyue and Shen Qinian hadn’t yet figured out exactly what had happened between their parents.

They were already being told to pack their things, confusedly listening to the arrangements about moving to live with their mom.

Shen Qiyue, however, sensed that something was off ahead of time—

Living with their mom should have been a joyful thing.

But now, there were so many problems, and it was completely different from what she had imagined. Their mom hadn’t come to this house to live together with them again. Instead, she wanted them to move to her place.

Shen Qiyue couldn’t help but have a very dark thought: if she and her brother moved out, would someone new take their place in this house? If their departure was meant to make room for someone else, then no matter what, she wouldn’t leave so easily.

Shen Qiyue threw herself to the ground, acting out shamelessly.
“Dad, are you abandoning us?”

“Do you want to be with a woman other than Mom and have new children with her?”

But Shen Qiyue realized something truly sad: the more she acted this way, the further she seemed to push her father away.

Shen Qi didn’t mind revealing his coldest and most ruthless side in front of her.
“Since you already know, you should get up immediately, pack your things, and stop interfering with your father’s new life.”

Cheng Shuangyi stared blankly, completely clueless about what exactly had happened or what had driven Shen Qi to commit such heartless acts—
to the extent of disregarding even his own children.

However, at this moment, she recalled something even more terrifying. Anyone might have the right to curse today’s Shen Qi—even Aunt Yun thought the young master had gone to extremes—but she didn’t have that right.

Because back then, she had abandoned their child without a backward glance.

Now, all she could do was pray for his change of heart.
“Ah Qi, I was wrong. I truly shouldn’t have been so selfish and self-centered back then. I hate myself for it.”

“And?” Shen Qi questioned her. “Is that the only thing you did wrong?”

He spoke as if blaming her on behalf of another woman.
“You shouldn’t have come looking for me in the first place, let alone gone after her.”

Cheng Shuangyi still couldn’t believe that the man who had been with her for so many years had completely fallen under another woman’s influence.
“So it’s all because of Qian Xu, that woman? What did she do for you that made you willing to give up even your own child?”

“You have no right to mention her,” he retorted coldly.

“Ah Qi, I beg you, for the sake of our past, can’t you be a little more lenient? Please don’t send my children back just yet.” Cheng Shuangyi’s gaze became unfocused and cloudy as she grabbed Shen Qi’s arm.
“You know my family’s situation. My father already has no voice in the family, no standing. If I suddenly return with two children for no apparent reason, it’ll only make him more of a target for ridicule.”

Shen Qi strode away. Even when he stumbled over his daughter’s suitcase, it didn’t stop him. He kicked it aside without hesitation, ignoring Shen Qiyue’s increasingly heart-wrenching sobs.

And he left behind these parting words:
“But since you love your children so much, how could I bear to let you be separated from them, whether as mother and daughter or mother and son?”
