{Pretend play, calling her “mommy.” 1}
At this moment, Yu Suye couldn’t understand Bian Yuan’s jealousy to the point of madness.
She could only feel that as a high-ranking boss, Bian Yuan was not understanding enough toward others, always nitpicking about the food and overly particular about order and standards.
With this mindset, even if the company had high production efficiency, it would lack warmth and would ultimately struggle to retain its people.
She stopped talking to Bian Yuan and lay alone on the Italian-style sofa, pondering life.
Clearly, Yu Suye didn’t have much time to think; she quickly fell into a deep sleep. It was hard to tell if she was exhausted from the walk to the bar or if she was just wary of being forced into a situation where she would have to overthink things. But vaguely, she sensed that someone seemed to be trying to cover her up. The heating was on high in this place, and she didn’t want the thick blanket, so she struggled to shake it off. What she didn’t know was that Bian Yuan was meticulously pulling it back over her again and again.
In this moment, Bian Yuan noticed that every bad habit of Bian Yixing had its origins.
Kicking off the blanket while sleeping was no exception.
Bian Yuan fell into thought, his gaze lingering on Yu Suye’s slightly flushed face. He watched her as she held her breath on purpose; he had seen her pretend to be strong, but this was the first time he had seen her peacefully lying in his office.
There was something captivating about it.
Then, Bian Yuan kept pondering one thing.
Even the late-night snacks were not sent to him first. Would she truly accompany him unconditionally years later, placing him in the most important position in her life?
Fortunately, he had not yet experienced a real economic crisis, and he was confident that he could keep her by his side.
The next morning.
Yu Suye hurriedly tried to sneak out of the Bianji Group’s front door while the boss was still asleep.
However, the moment she got up, she could almost feel a piercing gaze continuously lingering on her. But she could only ignore it; after the unpleasantness of the previous night, Yu Suye did not want to lower her noble forehead again.
It was quite a coincidence that just as she turned to head back to her dormitory, she ran into Song Yuren, who was coming out with a pink laundry basin. The latter first cleared her throat solemnly and then intentionally extended a leg in her direction, nearly tripping her.
Yu Suye knew that her roommate was surely ready to gossip, so she retreated repeatedly until there was nowhere left to escape.
Of course, Song Yuren wouldn’t miss this prime opportunity for interrogation.
“You tell me, where on earth did you go all last night?”
Before Yu Suye could even start to think of a response, Song Yuren had already begun to scold her, “Be honest with me!”
Reluctantly, she “confessed” the truth, “Just a little personal matter.”
“You weren’t with President Bian, were you?”
“Who would hang out with him for no reason?”
As Yu Suye said this, she walked ahead without looking back. Her guilty conscience made her lower her head all the way until she almost completely missed the familiar face in front of her.
It was Lin Wushen.
Lin Wushen was holding the laptop Yu Suye had been searching for but had given up on, along with many of her gifts.
“Here you go.”
Lin Wushen walked through the morning mist, his movements not as graceful as usual.
It seemed that by shedding these possessions, he could prove his nobility.
Faced with this unexpected surprise, Yu Suye was overjoyed and immediately called over Song Yuren, who she had just been avoiding. The two of them cheerfully accepted the items, while the rest of what he had worn or used held little value afterward, so Yu Suye naturally didn’t mention them and didn’t bother about them.
However, after returning the items, Lin Wushen didn’t leave right away.
“I need to tell you something.”
“What is it?”
Since Yu Suye was burdened with these heavy items and also had to listen to Lin Wushen’s words, her dorm leader, who had a more impatient expression, passed Yu Suye and almost rushed up to say, “Spit it out already!”
Yu Suye could now easily refuse all of Lin Wushen’s unreasonable requests.
She didn’t understand why Lin Wushen had the audacity to say a few more words.
If he were a normal boy, when returning those items, he should have looked ashamed, not like he was ready to give a speech at any moment, trying to clear his name.
She admired his composure and politely said, “Please go ahead; I’m all ears.”
