{“Are you afraid the fish will run away from the pond?” 1}
“Lin Wushen, right?” Lin Wushen’s roommate, still groggy with sleep, climbed up and gripped the railing. Dark circles loomed under his eyes as he grumbled, “Did that girl take the wrong medicine today? She refused to buy us coffee.”
Lin Wushen instinctively felt that his roommate’s language was vulgar.
But he didn’t speak up for Yu Suye. He was used to playing the perfect gentleman, incapable of getting angry with anyone.
He calmly comforted his roommate.
When Yu Suye’s efforts became a habit, everyone naturally became angry when she occasionally didn’t make an effort. In their minds, for the sake of Lin Wushen’s affection and the favor of those around him, she could happily buy them a few cups of velvety lattes.
So, Lin Wushen’s most immediate feeling was still one of confusion.
He even somewhat agreed with his roommate’s words, assuming that Yu Suye might have encountered something unpleasant today, which led her to treat them in this way.
He had never thought about whether Yu Suye should do all these things.
Lin Wushen, contrary to his usual behavior, gave Yu Suye a bit of “care.”
He ordered breakfast for his complaining roommates, and he also got an extra coffee and a doughnut for Yu Suye.
He could almost sense Yu Suye’s excessive joy when accepting these, as well as the uncontainable delight in her eyes.
He personally took it to Yu Suye’s dormitory building.
This was also the first time in his life that he stood under another girl’s building.
But it wasn’t the person who he was waiting for that came to take the breakfast; it was Yu Suye’s roommate, Song Yuren. Song Yuren got wind of the “jerk’s” arrival ahead of time, didn’t inform the main person involved, and hastily cleared Yu Suye’s messages, then hurried over herself.
Yu Suye’s absence made Lin Wushen somewhat irritable.
And personally receiving his “care” was Yu Suye’s dorm mate, who was now standing at the dormitory entrance, hands on her hips, wearing flip-flops with heels that were about to come off and speaking loudly as if afraid passersby wouldn’t hear—
“Oh, worried that the fish will stray from the fishpond?”
“Still setting a little bait yourself?”
Lin Wushen didn’t understand why these girls had such deep hostility towards him.
He once thought it was because Yu Suye didn’t love him enough, so she allowed her friends to continue badmouthing him.
But Lin Wushen was very fond of his own reputation. He had no intention of staying here for too long. When he saw other students passing by, he stopped talking and left the things to Yu Suye’s dorm leader, not saying anything more.
But Song Yuren wouldn’t let it go and cursed a few more times.
Lin Wushen walked away.
Song Yuren couldn’t stand this kind of guy. She believed Yu Suye must have been bewitched by Lin Wushen. Whenever Yu Suye wanted to give up, the other party would deliberately give her a little sweetness.
Just like now, rushing to give her some sweetness.
This kind of guy seemed like a gentleman on the surface but was actually rotten to the core.
If she hadn’t personally checked Yu Suye’s eyesight, she would have wanted to put a pair of glasses on her.
She really couldn’t understand why Yu Suye, who was so beautiful and had a great figure, must hang herself on a crooked tree like Lin Wushen?
Moreover, this was a crooked-neck tree. Although Lin Wushen did well in school and in the student union on campus, even Song Yuren knew very early on this truth—
Lin Wushen didn’t have any particularly outstanding qualities, and in Beijing, his excellence was too common.
If he didn’t have a background, then Lin Wushen wouldn’t be anything outside of campus.
And if Lin Wushen was a clear-minded guy, where did the other women and rumors come from?
Song Yuren thought that if this weren’t university, she would have already spat at Lin Wushen.
After returning to the dormitory, she kicked the door heavily.
She didn’t want to give Yu Suye that coffee. What if Yu Suye, this girl, drank this cheap coffee and became even more infatuated with Lin Wushen?
She was determined to give up her weight loss plan and personally solve the big trouble for Yu Suye.
Yu Suye didn’t know where Song Yuren got another round of snacks from. Used to the way the leader acted and her “ever changing mood” when it came to losing weight, Yu Suye decided not to remind her this time.
After showering and climbing into bed, Yu Suye was still thinking about the same thing.
Who is that child?
Is she a distant relative’s daughter entrusted to him for care, or could she be his illegitimate daughter?
Is this the reason he couldn’t be with Xu Wanwan? But this girl didn’t have Xu Wanwan’s temperament at all.
Yu Suye was still anxious.
She couldn’t determine the true reason for her change in mood. The child seemed like a catalyst, able to soothe her inner turmoil, even if it was just a fleeting glance, it made her stop thinking about Lin Wushen for a long time.
Like a mist spray cleaner, just a light spray as it passed through, and the dirty Lin Wushen completely disappeared from her mind.
Was this just a coincidental collision, or was it a deliberate arrangement by fate?
Undoubtedly, as an independent thinker, she wanted to seize this rare opportunity.
If possible, she was willing to pay the necessary price for it.
