Just then, the server called out, “Table 19, your food is ready.” Gu Zhixing immediately got up.

Soon, they brought a plate of stir-fried vegetables, a plate of stir-fried winter melon, and a bowl of meatball soup along with two bowls of rice.

Gu Zhixing quickly explained, “The braised pork is still being prepared, but it’ll be ready soon. Let’s eat the vegetables first.” He handed her the rice.

Li Yuechan glanced at the portion sizes. Not bad! She tasted the stir-fried vegetables, and hmm, the flavor was good.

Cheng Jingwen’s face turned red with anger. “Then why do they get it?” She pointed at the table next to them.

“The vice mayor? Oh my, I’m so scared!” Li Yuechan quickly patted her chest, pretending to be frightened.

The other diners nearby couldn’t help but gasp. The vice mayor? That’s a huge official!

Cheng Jingwen looked around at the reactions of those around her, and arrogantly said, “Scared now, huh? Hand it over quickly!”

Gu Zhixing furrowed his brow. Even his father, the Secretary of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee, wasn’t this arrogant.
