Chapter 1: Transmigration Stepping on a Wretched Man
Steel Factory Family Courtyard, Shangyang City, 1968
“Yu Jiayi, are you sure you want me to make things irreversible with your sister?”
A greasy, repulsive-looking man rubbed his hands together, his gaze fixated on the unconscious young woman lying on the bed. Her skin was fair, her features stunningly beautiful. He licked his lips, eager to drive the couple beside him away so he could finally savor Yu Wanqing.
Ever since she was fifteen, he had been scheming to get her into his bed.
Today, his wish was finally coming true.
“If you want to marry my sister-in-law, the only way is to make it a done deal,” said Zhou Cuimei, the second daughter-in-law of the Yu family, smiling. “Once you become our brother-in-law, remember to ask your father to help me get a permanent job.”
As long as Yu Wanqing and Hong Jianmin were forced into this situation, not only would she be rid of her sister-in-law, but she’d also secure her own official employment truly a win-win.
Standing beside her was a tall, skinny man with average looks. He nodded eagerly. “Yes, yes, get on with it. We won’t disturb you and my sister.”
Sacrificing a sister in exchange for his wife’s permanent job, a promotion to Level 3 worker, and becoming in-laws with the factory director what a fantastic deal.
At that moment, Hong Jianmin’s mind was filled with nothing but the thought of thoroughly enjoying the young woman on the bed. He had already imagined at least a dozen different positions. No matter what this couple said, he agreed to everything.
If anything went wrong, his father, the factory director, would take care of it.
As soon as the door closed, he grinned and pounced onto the bed. Looking at the breathtakingly beautiful girl beneath him, he didn’t hesitate to lean in for a kiss.
For countless nights, he had fantasized about having his way with Yu Wanqing.
No matter which woman he was with, it was always Yu Wanqing’s face in his mind.
The stench of alcohol jolted Yu Wanqing awake.
The moment she opened her eyes, she saw a pig-like face inches away from her own. Startled, she swung her hand with all her strength, landing a fierce slap across his face. Then, she raised her foot and viciously kicked him between the legs.
“Aaahhh!”
Hong Jianmin clutched his groin, howling in agony.
Yu Wanqing followed up with another brutal kick, sending him tumbling to the floor.
She sprang up, grabbed the only wooden stool in the room, and smashed it over his body. What followed was a relentless flurry of punches and kicks.
She beat him so thoroughly that he didn’t even have the chance to beg for mercy.
Hearing the screams, Yu Jiayi and his wife, who had been eavesdropping outside the door, panicked and rushed in.
Seeing the factory director’s son lying on the ground, they were both shocked.
Before they could react, Yu Jiayi was sent flying out of the room with a single kick from Yu Wanqing. She then grabbed Zhou Cuimei’s hair, yanked her down, and pinched the soft flesh on her waist, chest, and thighs.
The pain made Zhou Cuimei sob and scream, struggling in vain. But Yu Wanqing pinned her down, rendering her completely powerless.
“You little bitch, how dare you hit your own sister-in-law! Let me go right now!”
“Ahhh!”
The filthier her words, the harder Yu Wanqing pinched.
At that moment, a searing pain spread through her head as if thousands of ants were gnawing at her brain. A flood of foreign memories surged into her mind. When the fragments finally settled, her face darkened.
She was originally a billionaire heiress in the 21st century a thrill-seeker who loved adventure. While climbing Kunlun Mountain, she encountered a group of Japanese ninjas attempting to destroy China’s dragon veins. She managed to take them down but was gravely injured in the process.
Thanks to her innate wood-based abilities and healing powers, even if no one found her, she would have gradually healed over time.
She never expected to wake up in a parallel world China, 1968.
The original owner of this body was also named Yu Wanqing. Her father was an eighth-level worker at the steel factory, and her mother was also an employee there. She was the youngest of four siblings, the family’s beloved daughter. At eighteen, she had graduated high school but hadn’t yet found a job, staying home to help care for her nieces and nephews. She was known for her fiery temper, undefeated in fights among the factory families, hardworking, and cherished by her parents.
But who would have thought that her despicable second brother and his wife would drug her with sleeping pills in an egg soup, then invite the factory director’s only son over, intending to force her into a relationship in exchange for personal benefits?
Like securing a permanent job for Zhou Cuimei. Like getting a promotion for Yu Jiayi.
However, the original owner had a severe allergic reaction to the drug and died soon after drinking the soup.
By the time she transmigrated into this body, she couldn’t sense the original owner’s presence at all. Because of the drug’s effects, she had been unable to wake up immediately. It had taken all her healing powers to neutralize the drug’s influence before she could finally open her eyes.
Fortunately, she woke up just in time. If that disgusting man had actually kissed her, she would have been nauseated for life.
After thoroughly thrashing the three of them, she tied them up and threw them into a corner. Then, she grabbed a pen and paper and wrote down all their crimes, forcing them to sign and seal their confessions.
None of them were willing to sign.
She smirked and raised a kitchen knife. “If you don’t sign, I’ll chop you up.”
Hong Jianmin, his face swollen and battered, lay groaning on the ground. Summoning all his strength, he looked at her. “You wouldn’t dare. If you kill us, you won’t get away with it.”
Zhou Cuimei nodded repeatedly. “Little sister, you don’t even dare kill a chicken, let alone a person.”
Yu Wanqing’s eyes turned cold as she thought of the original owner, who had died unjustly.
“I’m not killing people. I’m killing animals.”
With that, she raised the knife and slashed at Hong Jianmin.
The original owner had trusted her brother and sister-in-law too much, which led to her downfall.
But she was not the original owner. She was a lunatic. Anyone who messed with her would be cut down.
Seeing the blade about to strike, Hong Jianmin burst into tears. “I’ll sign! I’ll sign!”
She untied his hands, watching as he shakily signed the confession. Then, she turned her gaze to Yu Jiayi and Zhou Cuimei.
“My dear second brother and sister-in-law, your turn.”
Yu Jiayi knew his sister was hot-tempered kids in the factory compound often got beaten up by her. But he never imagined she would turn against her own brother.
Tears streamed down his face. “Wanqing, we’re family! Have you forgotten how much I used to dote on you?”
“You can’t do this to me!”
Signing the confession would be like handing Yu Wanqing a weapon against them for life.
“Heh.”
Yu Wanqing sneered. “You stole our parents’ money and framed me was that love?”
“You treated me like a nanny for your children, barking orders at me was that love?”
“You drugged me and sold me off to a scumbag was that love?”
She walked over, slashed his arm, and watched blood seep out. As he screamed, she curled her lips into a smile.
“Second Brother, look how much I love you.”
Love disguised as harm she knew that all too well.
Zhou Cuimei shrieked, “Yu Wanqing, you’re a beast! An ungrateful wretch!”
A sharp slap landed across her face.
“My methods are for dealing with beasts.”
Yu Wanqing pressed her head to the floor. “Haven’t you heard? Never push an honest person too far.”
“Because when you do, they might just kill you.”
Zhou Cuimei stared at the glinting knife near her throat. Realizing that Yu Wanqing was truly ruthless, she trembled in fear and wet herself.
“I’ll sign! My husband and I will sign!”
