Chapter 19 You Are Truly Important.
Jiang Wansheng hesitated, although the sound of her just finishing washing up was not loud, he must have heard it.
But he didn’t say anything, maybe he didn’t want to be disturbed.
After some hesitation, she still wanted to quietly go upstairs and not disturb him.
But as soon as she stepped on the first step, she was called out, “Jiang Sweetie.”
Jiang Wansheng paused, his voice slightly hoarse from the smoke, mixed with the coolness of the night, calling her with an inexplicable tenderness.
Incredibly sexy.
She silently told herself that her uncle was a caring elder, and although she didn’t know what the future held, he was good to her now.
She walked over, and the man’s figure and features became clearer.
He leaned back on the sofa, his high brow bone and elegant nose line, every curve exuding a cold and handsome aura.
As she stood there, he looked up at her, his eyelids deeply creased, his eyes like an abyss.
“Not even a greeting when you see someone.” A low voice mixed with a light chuckle pierced the silence, reaching her ears, “Have you drunk the ginger soup?”
“Yes, thank you, Uncle.”
Qin Mo extinguished the cigarette, throwing it into the ashtray, and gave a low “Hmm,” “Sit with me for a while.”
In the moonlight, Jiang Wansheng looked at him, noticing a subtle fatigue in his otherwise unnoticeable eyes. At this moment, as he sat casually here, it became more apparent.
“Is Uncle very tired recently?”
Qin Mo looked at her, nodding, “Very tired.”
Concerned, Jiang Wansheng asked, “Is it because of being too busy with work that you’re not happy today?”
Qin Mo fell silent, his dark eyes profound, his gaze meaningful.
After a while, just as Jiang Wansheng thought he might feel she was interfering too much and was about to apologize, Qin Mo answered.
“No.”
Surprised, she asked, “…Can I ask why?”
Qin Mo casually played with the ring on his right hand, “Trying to comfort me?”
His question was straightforward, making her feel a bit embarrassed, “You said a lot to me today, which eased my sadness a lot. If I can, I also want to do something for you.”
She paused, then asked, “So… can I know the reason?”
Qin Mo’s eyes were deep, “It’s not about work.”
She took a discreet breath, composed herself, and tentatively asked, “Uncle… it’s not about relationship issues, is it?”
After speaking, she looked at him, trying to glean any clues from his stern expression.
Unfortunately, Qin Mo was skilled at disguising himself, his deep and bottomless black eyes revealing nothing.
But this time, Qin Mo didn’t disguise it, he remained casual but surprisingly said, “Yes.”
There was a moment of stiffness in Jiang Wansheng’s movements, then she regained her composure.
She forced a smile, “Then I might not be able to help, because I really have no experience.”
She disguised it well, calm and composed.
Seeing her reaction, Qin Mo’s laziness dissipated, leaving behind an endless icy coldness.
He spoke directly, “It’s late, go upstairs.”
She couldn’t stay any longer, she couldn’t keep being calm like this, she nodded obediently and then went upstairs.
Seeing her prompt agreement, Qin Mo’s expression darkened.
The restlessness in his heart grew stronger, he took out a cigarette from the pack, lit it.
The cigarette hung from his mouth, his face cold and hard.
“Uncle.” The girl’s soft voice came from behind.
Qin Mo paused, surprised, and turned to look at her.
The girl was wearing a white doll-collar nightgown, standing quietly on the stairs, looking at him, like a fairy enveloped in moonlight.
Her delicate face showed hesitation, as if she had something to say.
Qin Mo remained calm, waiting for her to speak.
After hesitating for a while, the girl walked downstairs to him.
Her expression was not natural, as if she had something difficult to say, gathering courage in the shadows.
His eyebrow raised.
The girl finally spoke, looking up at him with clear and pure eyes, leaving behind the complexity from before, “Uncle, actually, when I heard that you liked someone, I admit I felt a bit unhappy.”
Qin Mo’s heart suddenly moved, lowering his gaze to look at her, his eyes filled with undisguised aggression.
The girl seemed startled but gathered the courage to say, “I know my thoughts are selfish and inappropriate, but I must admit it.”
“Just like Weizhao, I consider you an important elder. You know about my parents and have comforted and encouraged me, allowed me to cry, told me I deserve to be loved. All of these are incredibly precious to me. So, in my eyes, you are truly important.”
“When I found out about your affection for someone else, the panic of being sidelined as a cherished person engulfed me, just like when my parents restructured the family back then.”
“I confess these to you because I cannot let down your kindness towards me. I need to apologize to you; I have harbored some inappropriate dark thoughts.”
Qin Mo looked at her, his heart filled with irony.
What was he expecting?
The young girl was too pure, too kind.
Sincere and honest, not even allowing herself to feel possessive emotions that should be natural for humans,
But he should be happy, shouldn’t he? At the very least, he held an important position in her eyes.
…
Damn it.
Who the hell wants to be your important elder.
He repeated in a low and slow voice, “Important, elder?”
“Just like Weizhao?”
He sneered, “Jiang Wansheng, you indeed think highly of me.”
After saying those words, Jiang Wansheng anxiously awaited his response. Although she expected to see his gloomy expression, she felt Qin Mo’s gaze become terrifying and profound.
She couldn’t fathom it, yet couldn’t escape it.
Soon, Qin Mo regained his calm and indifferent demeanor, “I won’t take it to heart. You and Weizhao are the same, younger generation.” He emphasized the term “younger generation” in a lingering and ambiguous manner, the strong impact making Jiang Wansheng’s heart skip a beat.
“Go upstairs and rest.”
Jiang Wansheng nodded blankly, “Uncle, you should rest early too, take care.”
After saying that, she felt an unprecedented sense of relief, even her steps upstairs were much lighter.
So much so that she didn’t notice at all, in the darkness, a pair of sharp black eyes, tightly fixed on her figure.
The gleaming eyes,
Were of hunting and seizing.
—
In the bedroom, Qin Weizhao was engrossed in chatting with her secret crush on the phone, completely unaware of how long Jiang Wansheng had been downstairs or what the two had talked about.
After Jiang Wansheng went in, she finally put down her phone, somewhat excitedly saying, “Wansheng, Chen Yu is coming back!”
She had heard this name before, the person Qin Weizhao had secretly admired since childhood.
She was happy for her because she knew how much Qin Weizhao cared about this person.
“Congratulations!”
“I’m going to continue training in Yuncheng tomorrow and then participate in the finals. I just told him, and he has promised to come to Yuncheng to watch me compete!”
Jiang Wansheng keenly caught the keyword, “What, you’re leaving tomorrow?”
Qin Weizhao: “Yes, yesterday was my last day training in the capital, rested today, and tomorrow I’m flying to Yuncheng.”
“Well…” Jiang Wansheng was a bit at a loss, “Aren’t you going to stay with me here?”
Qin Weizhao hugged her shoulder, “Wansheng, although I also want to live together, I really have to go compete. But don’t worry, I’ll be back in about half a month.”
“But I’ll be alone, staying with Uncle, it’s a bit awkward.”
“It’s okay, Uncle came back today by accident. He usually stays at Luqiu Mingdu, did you forget?” Qin Weizhao comforted, “Besides, it’s not like he asked you to stay here, he’ll be mad if you leave. Just let him take you to Luqiu Mingdu when the time comes, Wansheng, you’ll be in trouble.” Qin Weizhao made a pitiful expression as if she was about to cry.
Jiang Wansheng thought deeply and found it reasonable.
With Qin Mo’s personality, he might actually do that.
She better behave and not cause him trouble.
…
However, she didn’t expect that since Qin Weizhao left, Qin Mo had directly moved into Chongfei Garden permanently.
