Chapter 44 Take Me Away.
Because of Qin Mo’s provocative words and actions at night, she tossed and turned all night, unable to sleep. Every time she closed her eyes, all she could feel was the man’s strong breath and intimate gestures.
It wasn’t until late at night that she finally fell asleep, wondering if it was because she had scolded Qin Mo too many times before bed, leading to dreams where she chased him down eight streets, finally pinning him down and forcing him to beg for mercy, promising never to do it again.
The dream was too ridiculous, and she found it quite amusing when she woke up in the morning.
Shaking off these unrealistic fantasies, she washed up and went downstairs for breakfast.
Voices could be heard downstairs, which surprised her. Mrs. Wen Sao was always quiet and Qin Mo wasn’t talkative, so could it be that someone had come to visit?
Downstairs, Qin Mo was already dressed in a suit, sitting at the dining table, looking dignified and elegant.
The person busy at the side was obviously not the familiar Mrs. Wen Sao. As she approached, she remembered this was the aunt she had met at Luqiu Mingdu when she sought help from her uncle after being framed by Zheng Wen that day.
The aunt was reminding Qin Mo to take care of his health, and Qin Mo didn’t seem impatient, occasionally responding.
Seeing her approach, Aunt Wang’s face lit up with a brilliant smile, familiarly taking her wrist, “Miss Jiang, you’re awake.”
She looked at her with a smile, feeling inexplicably happy.
The last time she saw her, she felt that she and her husband were a perfect match. Her old eyes were indeed the most discerning.
Qin Mo explained, “Mrs. Wen Sao took leave, so I asked Aunt Wang to come and take care of you.”
“Oh, Miss Jiang, did you not sleep well? Look at the dark circles under your fair and tender face.” Aunt Wang was very enthusiastic and talkative, “Such a beautiful young lady must take care of her health.”
Feeling uncomfortable, Jiang Wansheng adjusted her sitting position and subconsciously touched her eye sockets, somewhat defensively explaining, “I had a nightmare last night.”
Aunt Wang didn’t doubt her, “Young girls usually have small courage, it’s okay, you don’t need to be afraid of anything with the master here.”
Qin Mo looked at her with interest, a playful glint in his deep, cold eyes.
He teased, “What did you dream about that scared you so much you couldn’t sleep well? If you have nightmares at night, shall I help you deal with them in your dreams?”
Feeling his malice, Jiang Wansheng gritted her teeth, “Thank you, Uncle, it was just a ghost, I scared it away myself.”
She even chased him down eight streets! Making him beg for mercy!
Thinking of the scene in her dream, she couldn’t help but smile, quickly lowering her head to hide the growing smile on her face.
Qin Mo let her laugh, and responded, “Well, Jiang Wansheng, you’re really amazing.”
His sharp lips involuntarily curved into a smile.
Aunt Wang observed quietly from the side, her smile almost reaching the back of her head, the wrinkles at the corners of her eyes deepening.
She was carefully selected to take care of Third Master Qin, serving him at the old mansion and later at Luqiu Mingdu. She had watched Qin Mo grow up and thought he was cold and aloof, with high standards, wondering when he would settle down. She never expected him to be won over by a beautiful and gentle young lady, which made her very happy.
After finishing breakfast, the doorbell suddenly rang.
Aunt Wang opened the door, and when she returned a moment later, she was holding a parcel.
“Miss Jiang, your delivery.”
Jiang Wansheng quickly got up to receive it, feeling a bit embarrassed, “Aunt Wang, you don’t have to keep calling me Miss Jiang, you can call me Wansheng or Shengsheng.”
Aunt Wang smiled kindly and readily agreed, “Alright, I’ll call you Shengsheng, it sounds more intimate.”
She smiled in response.
As breakfast was coming to an end, she took the parcel to the central island behind the dining table.
She couldn’t quite remember what it was.
Upon opening it, she realized it was the stuffed bear she had made and sent over after the team building.
One large and one small bear, each wrapped in transparent plastic packaging and tied with colorful ribbons.
Aunt Wang exclaimed, “These two bears are so beautiful, did you buy them online?”
She shook her head, “No, I made them myself a few days ago.”
Unwrapping the package, the purple-blue contrasting colors were very beautiful. She held it in her hands, admiring it back and forth, reluctant to let go.
The other bear, a black and pink one with a loop attached, was left aside, and she didn’t know what to do with it.
Qin Mo walked over, picked up the neglected bear, furrowing his brow as he struggled to remember, “Is this the staircase bear you mentioned the other day?”
Jiang Wansheng chuckled, her white teeth peeking out like pearls, her watery eyes sparkling with fine light. “It’s a fluid bear,” she emphasized, correcting him with a smile.
Qin Mo glanced at her sideways, pinched the soft flesh that had puffed up from laughing, “Teasing your little uncle, hmm?”
“Not at all,” she couldn’t help but smile.
He let her laugh and asked, “You don’t like this?”
“I added the wrong color at the time, so it doesn’t look very good.” She sounded a bit regretful, “I made it into a keychain. I don’t have many keys, I originally wanted to hang it on my backpack.”
The black and pink bear flipped in the man’s long, cold, pale hands, the loop ring on his index finger. The cute bear and his cold, sharp demeanor created an extreme contrast.
“Take me away,” he said.
Jiang Wansheng looked up at him in surprise.
He placed the Bugatti car key on the island counter, “I happen to have the key.”
“Are you going to wear this keychain?”
With a slight raise of his sharp chin, he gestured for her to help him put it on.
Jiang Wansheng suddenly began to doubt his taste.
The discreet Bugatti logo and the unremarkable black and pink bear placed together looked strangely intriguing to anyone who saw them.
But Qin Mo remained nonchalant, his face still cold and indifferent, and he left with the keychain in hand.
Jiang Wansheng swallowed the words she wanted to say and saw him off.
Aunt Wang sneakily took several photos from behind, delighted beyond measure.
—–
At eight o’clock, Ming Yin said, “Safely arrived.”
She didn’t send a message back, knowing that Ming Yin and Pei Que probably wouldn’t be able to handle her together.
She spent the morning with Aunt Wang, who was warm and friendly, quickly dispelling the discomfort of being in a room with a stranger.
Aunt Wang mentioned the flower biscuits she had given to Qin Mo some time ago, expressing her desire to learn the craft, so the two of them spent time in the kitchen.
While Jiang Wansheng was distracted, Aunt Wang took several photos of her, mostly capturing her profile and back view, then quietly sent them to someone.
In the photos, the girl’s black hair was lightly tied behind her head, the low bun framing her delicate and soft features. The profile of her facial features was beautiful, and her serious and focused expression made her seem radiant.
She sent a message: “A girl who looks good and has a good personality, you can rest assured of the gentleman’s taste.”
The reply on the other end was in a voice message, which she couldn’t listen to, so she told Jiang Wansheng she needed to use the restroom before playing it out loud.
An elderly voice mixed with a hint of displeasure came through, “Look at that worthless brat, treating that ugly bear like a treasure.”
Another message followed, “I’ve been looking at this photo and a bunch of text information all this time, can’t see a living person, is that kid deliberately trying to annoy me?”
Aunt Wang tried to soothe and sent a voice message, “Impossible, the young lady hasn’t agreed yet. If she does, she’ll be brought over.”
“Hmph, that arrogant dog from before, now can’t even get a young girl, it’s karma.”
“If he delays any longer, I’ll be six feet under.”
Aunt Wang found the old man’s remarks amusing, thinking he was quite the old child.
She tried to calm his impatience, urging him not to rush to meet the person, to avoid scaring them off.
