Chapter 47 A Slap in the Face.
This softly whispered sentence made Ming Yin suddenly understand her meaning.
But it also made her feel scared.
It meant that in her subconscious, she wanted to be with Qin Mo for a long time.
So she worried that because of the difference in their status, Qin Mo might only be interested in her temporarily, and she feared getting deeply involved and ending up losing everything.
She was a child who had experienced abandonment too early, and the sense of insecurity was almost ingrained in her bones, wrapped in a protective shell to prevent any possible harm.
She suddenly didn’t want to live for the moment, thinking that sleeping in was a gain.
These phrases might apply to her, but they didn’t suit Jiang Wansheng.
She was too conventional.
So in the end, she just squeezed Jiang Wansheng’s hand on the table and softly told her, “I will support whatever decision you make.”
“We are family forever.”
Jiang Wansheng smiled gently, “Okay.”
Ming Yin raised her beautiful fox-like eyes, dispersing the melancholy atmosphere, “Let’s not talk about this, let’s eat.”
Just as Jiang Wansheng picked up a grilled egg, she remembered something, “Don’t tell Weizhao about this for now. She’s still in a competition, don’t distract her.”
With a mouthful of sushi, Ming Yin nodded vaguely, “Don’t worry, I haven’t told her about me and Pei Que.”
“Pei Que also doesn’t know that Weizhao and I are friends.”
This surprised Jiang Wansheng, “You haven’t told him?”
“I feel that our relationship won’t last long, and there won’t be any intersection with him in the future. Why tell him? It wouldn’t be good to affect the relationship between Weizhao and Pei Que.”
“I didn’t expect you to be involved with Qin Mo. Keeping it a secret for now is just temporary.”
Jiang Wansheng chuckled at her relaxed attitude; the Miss of the Ming family was indeed carefree.
—
Halfway through the meal, Ming Yin’s phone suddenly rang.
Ming Yin glanced at it, rolled her eyes, and hung up.
Jiang Wansheng casually asked, “Why didn’t you answer?”
Ming Yin replied irritably, “It’s my cheating dad’s youngest daughter, calling me for no reason.”
“You haven’t gone home since you came back?”
“I video-called my grandpa before coming here, and he also noticed that I wasn’t happy seeing that father and daughter. He asked me to stay outside for now until my house is renovated.”
Just as she finished speaking, the phone rang again.
It was Ming Xiao.
Ming Yin mercilessly hung up.
It rang again.
She took a deep breath, considering putting her directly on the blacklist.
After a moment of thought, Jiang Wansheng said, “Answer it. If she doesn’t explain clearly, she’ll find other ways to contact you.”
Frowning, Ming Yin slid to answer with force, “Speak quickly!”
A few seconds later, Jiang Wansheng watched as Ming Yin’s expression suddenly turned ugly.
After hanging up the phone, she stood up directly, “I need to go to the hospital.”
Concerned, Jiang Wansheng asked, “What’s wrong?”
“Ming Xiao is pregnant and at the hospital. She didn’t dare tell anyone, so she called me.” Her expression was grave.
Furrowing her brows, Jiang Wansheng said, “I’ll accompany you.”
“Okay.”
—
The two hurriedly took a taxi to the hospital, heading straight to the gynecology department.
At this moment, Ming Xiao was lying on the bed in a hospital gown, with no makeup, her face pale and tears in her eyes.
Seeing Ming Yin was like seeing a savior, and she changed her usual unfriendly demeanor.
“Sister.” She cried after just one call.
Ming Yin frowned, “What’s going on?”
Ming Xiao choked up and slowly explained what had happened.
During her school term, she made a bunch of drinking buddies, going out dancing and clubbing every day, and casual hookups were common.
Everyone was willing to take her out because she had money.
She was young and easy to deceive, quickly falling for a boy in it, two years older than her, and the two ended up in a relationship.
Today she almost fainted, and these days she kept vomiting, coming to the hospital for a check-up and indeed found out she was pregnant.
She told that boy, and he only replied to her to quickly have an abortion.
She was young, the whole person panicked, and dared not tell her father, so she called Ming Yin.
Ming Yin threw the bag on the bed, “Are you crazy, Ming Xiao? You just turned legal age a few months ago and you’re messing around.”
“You’re about to go to college, what, do you want to take a year off to stay home for childbirth?”
Ming Xiao cried so hard that she couldn’t say a word.
Ming Yin, who was originally aggressive, now with a cold face and even more imposing, said, “Let me ask you first, do you want this child?”
Ming Xiao shook her head, crying, “I can’t, I can’t…”
“Then make an appointment with the doctor for an abortion, I’ll sign for you.”
Ming Xiao nodded, crying convulsively.
Ming Yin sneered, “Who is that scumbag?”
Ming Xiao wiped her tears, turned her head away, and remained silent.
Ming Yin mocked, “Still want to protect him?”
Jiang Wansheng stood aside observing Ming Xiao’s reaction, suddenly spoke, “Do you still want to be with him?”
Ming Xiao stiffened, looking as if she had been hit on the mark.
Ming Yin raised an eyebrow, just asking earlier to mock her, she subconsciously felt that with things having escalated to this point, Ming Xiao couldn’t still be so naive.
Now it seems she really hasn’t given up, her mind is still clouded with love.
She laughed in anger, “A guy who didn’t use protection with you, ended up getting you pregnant and making you have an abortion alone, and you still treat him like a treasure?”
“Ming Xiao, are you out of your mind?”
“He said he really likes me, this time, it was just an accident…” Ming Xiao softly retorted.
Ming Yin was speechless with anger.
Jiang Wansheng calmly said, “Painless abortion only alleviates pain on the day, but afterwards, you will be in unbearable pain. It has great harm to women’s physical and mental health.”
“I hope that when you can’t get up from the pain tomorrow, you can still think that the one who caused you this is sincerely in love with you, and not just wanting to sleep with you.”
“I’ll give you one piece of advice, break up quickly,” Ming Yin said, suppressing her anger.
Ming Xiao remained silent, and after a while, she murmured, “I can make my own decision.”
If she wasn’t worried that Ming Yin wouldn’t sign, she would have just said to them, “Mind your own business.”
Jiang Wansheng raised an eyebrow in silence.
What she just said was just a kind advice from a female perspective, she didn’t think Ming Xiao would listen, but she wouldn’t say a second sentence.
Ming Yin sneered, feeling she had done her best, if she was so stubborn, let her hit the wall herself.
The two left the ward, Ming Yin went to handle the procedures for her.
Jiang Wansheng stood at the door of the ward, leaning against the wall, all the events of today flashing through her mind.
Feeling upset, all kinds of emotions mixed together.
Even witnessed firsthand the tragic end of a moth flying into the flame, it really added insult to injury.
She sighed deeply, just raised her head and stood up straight.
“Smack—”
A slap came down heavily.
She was forced to turn her head, her mouth hit her teeth and blood oozed out.
Her mind went blank, her ears buzzing, everything around her suddenly slowed down.
She turned around with difficulty, enduring the strong pain on her cheek, focusing her gaze on the angry woman in front of her.
Luo Muyan.
Her mother.
