Chapter 48 We Have a Long Way to Go.
“What are you doing here!” She pointed at the three words “Obstetrics and Gynecology” above her head and questioned loudly.
Jiang Wansheng immediately understood why she was so uncontrollably angry, a touch of absurdity flashed in her eyes, and she remained calm to the point of indifference.
Suddenly, she chuckled and asked her, “What do you think?”
“If Uncle Chen hadn’t run into you on the wrong floor, I wouldn’t have known about the mess you were making behind my back in the capital!”
“I just heard you talking about abortion with your friend.” She pointed at her with her finger, trembling with force, “You, at such a young age, messing around outside, getting pregnant, are you not ashamed!”
She began to feel unjust, poking her shoulder one after another, “I raised you like this, shameless thing, how could I have given birth to a daughter like you!”
“Then why didn’t you just strangle me when I was born!” she almost roared.
Luo Muyan was stunned, she never expected her usually obedient daughter to resist her so loudly.
A stronger surge of anger instantly rose, “You’ve been studying outside for a few years and you think you’ve grown wings, you’ve learned to defy your mother, haven’t you!”
“Have you figured out the truth, have you taken the time to ask me since you saw me!” her eyes were red, showing rare excitement.
She had been wronged enough today, why did she have to encounter such a cruel and fierce mother today.
“Then you tell me!”
Luo Muyan had a sharp look of “Let’s see how you defend yourself.”
All her accumulated anger seemed to deflate like a balloon, “Puff” and went flat.
A familiar sense of powerlessness struck.
She tilted her head back, pursed her lips, trying to hold back the tears in the corners of her eyes.
And the grievance, like being soaked in tears, became increasingly unbearable.
“Jiang Wansheng.”
She suddenly turned her head, her watery eyes widened, and tears fell naturally.
The familiar cold scent of wood surrounded her, the man’s back against the light, his figure tall and straight, his steps steady.
The fluctuating heart of today strangely settled down.
Luo Muyan was stunned by this change, she looked up and down at the approaching man, full of nobility, as if she understood something, and looked more sternly at Jiang Wansheng.
Jiang Wansheng anticipated her misunderstanding, and before she could speak, she interjected, “It wasn’t me who had the abortion!”
Luo Muyan obviously didn’t believe her.
“I came with someone, it’s not me who’s pregnant with a friend’s family member, do you understand now?”
Jiang Wansheng mocked, “If you don’t believe me, take me for a blood test, or if you’re embarrassed, I’ll go buy a pregnancy test for you to prove it?”
Qin Mo walked to her side, looking at her solemnly.
Her fair skin, marked clearly, and Luo Muyan’s force was heavy, now swollen high, looking very brutal.
Qin Mo’s dark eyes seemed to be swirling with a storm, and his hostility poured out from all over his body.
Luo Muyan subconsciously took a few steps back, “Then who is this, how could you have a relationship with such a wealthy person?”
She actually no longer doubted Jiang Wansheng, but she couldn’t stand her usually obedient daughter defying her, which offended her dignity as a mother.
The questioning tone in her voice was enough to hurt, and Jiang Wansheng disappointedly pursed her lips.
“Say something.”
“Suitor.” The man spoke indifferently.
Luo Muyan suspected she had misheard.
Qin Mo hooked his lips, but his eyes were icy.
Repeating, “I am Jiang Wansheng’s suitor.”
“Jiang Wansheng is the most beautiful, outstanding, and strong person I have ever met. I am actively pursuing her, if she can have a relationship with me.” He paused for a moment, then firmly uttered a few words.
“I will, seek nothing more.”
Luo Muyan was completely unprepared for this development, standing still at the moment, her hand that had just slapped Jiang Wansheng trembling slightly, suddenly at a loss.
Her lips moved a few times, murmuring, “I… I…”
The pain in her cheeks seemed to connect to her heart along the nerves, spreading together, making her heart feel extremely uncomfortable.
“Mom, what are you doing here?”
Luo Muyan stumbled, “Xingran said there was something wrong with her eyes, so Uncle Chen and I brought her here for a check-up.”
Jiang Wansheng suddenly smiled.
Tears seemed to roll down her eyes, but she didn’t care, looking at Luo Muyan, she said, “Mom, you see, I have long been excluded by you.”
“I don’t ask you to treat me like you do Chen Xingran, but at the very least,” she choked, “it shouldn’t be like this.”
Luo Muyan’s heart suddenly felt like it had been heavily pounded, a wave of unprecedented panic rising, she hurriedly said, “Wansheng, Mom…”
Jiang Wansheng raised her hand to stop her, still smiling, “Mom, go see your Xingran.”
“She needs you.”
“And I—” she paused, looking at Luo Muyan, her voice soft, slow, and firm, “don’t need you anymore.”
With that, she turned and walked away.
In an instant, Luo Muyan realized what a foolish thing she had just done, she wanted to step forward to explain and make amends, but when the words reached her lips, she felt unable to justify herself.
So she could only watch her daughter leave her sight step by step, without looking back once.
She suddenly felt a bit unstable, grabbing the handrail on the wall and supporting herself.
Qin Mo looked at her coldly, his gaze so cold to the extreme, his voice heavy as if pressing down with a heavy hammer.
“If you weren’t her mother, I would find it very difficult to tolerate you standing intact in front of me.”
He spoke each word slowly and indifferently, with a strong sense of interrogation.
“Since you don’t cherish it, there’s no need to bother in the future, I will take care of my own people.”
—
Jiang Wansheng walked aimlessly, her thoughts drifting far away, almost being bumped into several times.
Qin Mo followed her for a while, finally unable to bear it, he quickly stepped forward and hugged her around the waist.
After a brief moment of astonishment, Jiang Wansheng obediently nestled in his arms, silent.
Qin Mo held her all the way, first had a doctor check the injuries on her face, applied medication, and then carried her downstairs to the car.
The little girl in his arms was very well-behaved, but his heart was densely filled with pain.
He didn’t rush to leave, after putting her down, he placed his hands on both sides of her, lowered his head, and gazed at her.
“What did I tell you before?”
Jiang Wansheng looked at him in a daze, “Huh?”
He sighed lightly, “If you feel sad, cry it out, if you hold it in, I will feel heartache.”
Jiang Wansheng didn’t say anything, just stared at him with her watery eyes, unblinking.
Their eyes met.
She looked straight into the man’s dark eyes.
She looked at his sharp and handsome features,
She looked at his taut and fluent jawline,
She looked at the way he looked at her.
For the first time,
She felt intensely.
How good it would be if this person in front of her could belong to her forever…
Once this thought appeared, it immediately entwined her mind tightly like a rapidly growing vine.
She remembered what Qin Mo had just said to her mother.
Almost involuntarily, she whispered, “Qin Mo.”
Qin Mo was visibly surprised.
This was the first time she had called him by his full name, with a unique soft tone, turning into countless little hooks that caught his heart.
Suddenly calling him made him somewhat unable to bear it.
He suppressed it, “Hmm?”
“Will you always like me?”
The underground parking lot fell silent, the wind ceased.
In the girl’s voice, he heard his heart beating wildly.
“I will,” he heard himself say so.
But the girl did not show joy or gratitude, only a deeper sense of sadness.
She whispered, “My parents used to say they would cherish me forever.”
“The result is, only I took it seriously.”
“Qin Mo, I don’t believe it, I don’t believe in forever.”
The girl’s face was filled with indifference.
Qin Mo looked at her, then suddenly smiled.
With a tone of relief, he said, “My Sweetie will never be deceived in the future.”
“It’s okay, I will make you believe.”
He vowed solemnly.
With a casual arc, he lowered his head, approached, and placed an incredibly sincere, devoid of any desire, kiss on her forehead.
“We have a long way to go.”
