Chapter 52 Why are you so clingy after drinking?
The next day, Jiang Wansheng struggled to sit up from the bed, holding his head.
Her sleepy eyes scanned around, and a familiar feeling hit her.
Isn’t this the guest room at Luqiu Mingdu where she stayed last time?
She pressed her forehead hard with her palm, trying to remember something, but her memory stopped abruptly at her and Qin Mo eating barbecue together.
She regretted a bit. If she had known, she wouldn’t have drunk so much.
“Knock, knock—”
The knocking sound interrupted Jiang Wansheng’s thoughts.
Ignoring the pain in her head and cheeks, she hurriedly got out of bed to open the door.
Qin Mo stood at the door elegantly holding a packaged bag, with a white shirt fitting snugly on his muscular upper body, a black patterned tie tied in a Windsor knot, neatly hanging in front of him.
Jiang Wansheng looked at his tie, and some inexplicable images suddenly flashed.
The messy and twisted tie was held in her hand, the man’s eyes deep, watching her tug at it.
The “Uncle” she was about to say was choked by this image.
Was that her?
Did she do that?
Qin Mo leisurely admired the girl’s face like a color palette, the slight curve at the corner of his mouth making his cold features more relaxed and casual.
Raising his hand, his right index finger curved, he slid the back of his finger gently across her uninjured cheek, warm and smooth.
“You’re not awake yet.”
Jiang Wansheng wasn’t daydreaming, she was just carefully choosing her words.
“Uncle—” she finally spoke.
Qin Mo raised an eyebrow slightly, waiting for her continuation.
She cautiously probed, “I mean, last night, I didn’t cause you any trouble, did I…”
“Last night,” Qin Mo’s tone was somewhat intriguing.
Jiang Wansheng nervously looked at him.
“Forgot everything?”
She guiltily nodded.
Qin Mo seemed somewhat helpless, “Last night, you hugged me and wouldn’t let go. If I didn’t hug you, you’d sulk.”
“Fortunately, Uncle is in good health, otherwise, I really couldn’t satisfy you.”
At his words, a blush quickly spread across her cheeks, her fair skin now rosy.
She wanted to deny it, but there were indeed some blurry fragments in her mind that made it hard for her to argue.
“Jiang Sweetie, why are you so clingy after drinking.”
Qin Mo seemed oblivious to her embarrassment, relentless.
He leaned in to talk to her, his lazy and pleasant voice carrying a hint of teasing.
“I, I…” Jiang Wansheng hesitated for a long time, “I was drunk at that time, it wasn’t, it wasn’t intentional.”
A low chuckle escaped Qin Mo’s throat, accusingly, “Jiang Sweetie, you’re quite bold, taking advantage of me and then pretending not to know.”
Jiang Wansheng was a bit angry and embarrassed, acting on impulse, “I just hugged you, and you even kissed me, you’re even more excessive!”
Qin Mo’s eyes held a suppressed smile.
Feeling a bit relieved, he regretted breaking the agreement last night by kissing her and was thinking about how to explain it to her this morning, but the girl had already forgotten.
He decided to let it go, afraid of provoking her further, and generously said, “Alright, I was excessive.”
He couldn’t help but rub her head, handing her the paper bag.
“These are clean clothes, go wash up, and come down for breakfast later.”
Blushing, Jiang Wansheng took the bag and quickly turned around to close the door.
Qin Mo looked at the closed door, his sharp black eyes dangerously half-closed.
He was figuring out how to quickly lure her into the master bedroom.
…
Jiang Wansheng finished bathing and put on the clothes Qin Mo had brought.
It was a white petal-sleeved square-necked long dress, with short tassels trailing along the bottom of the chest, highlighting the bandeau design, cinched waist, and the skirt falling to the middle of her calves.
Her fluffy black hair was casually scattered, gentle and pure.
When Jiang Wansheng walked down, Qin Mo’s pitch-black eyes darkened for a moment, then returned to indifference.
The two calmly finished breakfast, and Qin Mo pulled her to the living room, taking out the ointment he bought last night to apply to her cheeks.
Qin Mo sat on a low stool, and Jiang Wansheng sat on the sofa in front of him, her legs tightly together. Because of their positions, her legs were between the man’s legs, and she really didn’t dare to move.
Qin Mo carefully observed her right cheek, the timely treatment from yesterday had left only a few reddish spots on her face now.
With her head tilted, Jiang Wansheng’s gaze wandered, feeling the warm fingers evenly spreading the slightly cool ointment on her cheek. The warm breath sprayed by the man’s breathing completely surrounded her right ear, and her earlobe quickly turned red.
She dared not move her legs now, any slight shift could touch his sturdy thigh muscles.
Between the black suit pants and the white dress, black and white intertwined, Jiang Wansheng’s heart was trembling.
A few minutes later, Qin Mo’s cold voice rang out, “Done.”
She suddenly breathed a sigh of relief and quickly distanced herself.
This was too much of a test for her.
After applying the ointment, a strange calmness enveloped the room.
The scent of cold wood filled the air, even clinging to her body, her heartbeat on the edge of chaos.
Suddenly, she saw her phone flashing with an incoming call on the table.
She grasped this lifeline, “I see someone calling me, I’ll answer it.”
It was a good thing she noticed, otherwise, in that unbearable situation, she wouldn’t have been aware, struggling in that awkward moment.
She left in a flurry, answering the call before checking the contact.
“Hello.”
The other end seemed surprised that she answered the call so quickly, and after a moment, a somewhat dry voice said, “Wansheng…”
Realizing who was calling, Jiang Wansheng felt like a bucket of cold water was poured over her head, her face turning cold, “Is there something?”
Luo Muyan sounded a bit embarrassed, “Yesterday, Mom was impulsive and didn’t listen to your explanation. Mom…”
“Mom.” She interrupted her, unwilling to mention last night again, “If it’s about that matter, there’s no need to talk about it anymore.”
Even though it was a misunderstanding, the embarrassment and disappointment it brought her could never be erased, nor could she let it go.
“Wansheng, don’t hang up yet.” She urgently spoke.
“Is there something else?”
“Xingran… she misses you, can you come and see her?”
Jiang Wansheng frowned. She and this sister, who was 11 years younger, didn’t have a particularly close relationship.
“Why is she in the hospital?” she didn’t answer.
“She was diagnosed with osteochondroma, fortunately, it’s a benign tumor, but she still needs surgery. Your uncle felt uneasy about having it done in Yucheng, so we came to the capital.”
Jiang Wansheng’s expression wasn’t good. Chen Xingran was only a 10-year-old girl, and having a tumor must be frightening for her.
She was much older than her and had helped take care of her when she was younger. They used to be quite close, but after boarding school and then going to college, they had little contact.
She responded in a deep voice, “I understand, I’ll come over later.”
Qin Mo walked over from behind, “What’s wrong?”
She turned around, “My sister has osteochondroma and is hospitalized at the central hospital. I’m going to see her.”
“Do you want me to accompany you?”
“No need.” She smiled, “I won’t stay long either.”
She knew she was worried about feeling uncomfortable seeing Luo Muyan.
Qin Mo nodded, “Then I’ll drive you.”
Jiang Wansheng looked at the time, surprised, “Aren’t you going to work?”
“It’s on the way.”
“…Alright.” Jiang Wansheng felt that refusing was futile, as he had already walked to the entrance to change his shoes.
The black Bugatti drove smoothly, Luqiu Mingdu had excellent greenery, with wide and smooth roads lined with rows of metasequoias, providing ample shade.
Coming towards them, a same-colored Lamborghini appeared from a side fork in the road, with red stripes outlining the bottom of the car, a bold design exuding a high-tech feel.
As the two cars met, the Lamborghini deliberately stopped in front of his car, then drove past, the driver’s window opposite.
Qin Mo covered the steering wheel with one hand, lazily casting a glance over, his expression relaxed.
The Lamborghini’s window slowly rolled down, revealing a pair of full peach blossom eyes, followed by a high nose bridge and thin lips.
The corners of the mouth curved into a playful smile, teasing and seductive.
