The phone notification brought her back to reality. Jian Ming opened her phone to check the message.
Jian Ming wearily rubbed her brow and hesitated before opening the chat box.
After sending the message, Jian Ming set the chat to “Do Not Disturb” and forced herself not to check it again.
She had rushed out so quickly in the evening that she hadn’t noticed the hickey on her neck. Jian Ming pulled out her cushion from her bag and patted it frantically on her neck.
Finally, the mark was nearly covered, and Jian Ming breathed a sigh of relief.
When Yu Ran got home, Shen Suhui was sitting on the sofa with Lucky, watching TV. As soon as she saw Yu Ran return, she hurriedly fumbled with the remote control to change the channel.

A person’s mood affects the taste of the food they make, and Yu Ran could immediately tell that Shen Suhui had put too much salt in the porridge. Her focus had been elsewhere while cooking.
