The Female Lead, Tang Qingqing
Tang Qingqing sat uneasily on the sofa as Ruan Yuexi finished her breakfast.
“Miss Tang, is there something you need?” Ruan Yuexi asked, sitting on the sofa opposite her.
Tang Qingqing glanced upstairs, clearly checking if Shang Yao was home, her eyes darting nervously.
“Brother Yao is upstairs watching TV. Do you want to join him?” Ruan Yuexi asked nonchalantly.
Tang Qingqing blushed immediately. “I didn’t know Brother Shang liked watching TV. Can I ask what he’s watching?”
“Oh, it seems to be a show with Big Bear, Little Bear and Bald Qiang.,” Ruan Yuexi pretended to think for a few seconds.
Tang Qingqing: “…” Her smile stiffened.
“Really? I didn’t know Brother Shang had such a childlike heart.”
“Of course. Brother Yao said he wants to become a bear and protect the forest,” Ruan Yuexi earnestly tried to establish Shang Yao as a righteous and brave figure in front of Tang Qingqing.
Tang Qingqing’s face froze completely. “What a noble dream.”
“Isn’t it?” Ruan Yuexi shrugged.
Butler Li, who was bringing fruit to the table, didn’t hear their conversation.
“I came specifically to apologize for last time,” Tang Qingqing said, glancing upstairs again, clearly preoccupied.
Was she here to apologize to her? Ruan Yuexi didn’t want to point it out. “Oh,” she responded disinterestedly.
Tang Qingqing stood up and apologized to Ruan Yuexi. “I’m sorry, and thank you for not mentioning this to Brother Shang or Brother Yiliang.”
Her voice was so low that only Ruan Yuexi could hear.
“Who said I didn’t tell Brother Yao?” Ruan Yuexi said with a lazy smile.
Tang Qingqing’s face instantly turned pale. “Miss Ruan…” She seemed deeply shocked, staring at Ruan Yuexi in disbelief.
Ruan Yuexi laughed heartily, “I’m just kidding. I’m not as scheming as you.”
Tang Qingqing: “…” How could someone like her exist…
Seeing Tang Qingqing’s tense and pale face, Ruan Yuexi laughed until she almost cried. It was too amusing.
Tang Qingqing clenched her hands, trying hard to control her emotions. Brother Shang Yao was still upstairs, and she couldn’t let him have a bad impression of her.
“As long as you don’t hold a grudge against me,” Tang Qingqing forced a smile.
Ruan Yuexi finally stopped laughing. “Who said I don’t hold a grudge? I’d love to turn you into a hornet’s nest.”
Tang Qingqing tensed up again. “Really?”
“Of course not. Do you believe everything?” Ruan Yuexi laughed again, clutching her stomach on the sofa.
Tang Qingqing: “…” She’s really infuriating!
Ruan Yuexi laughed until her stomach hurt. “I’m so kind-hearted. How could I not forgive you? You do all the bad things, but I won’t hold it against anyone.”
At this moment, she felt like she had a shining halo of sainthood behind her.
Tang Qingqing felt like she had been stabbed in the heart again but couldn’t help but thank her. “Thank you.” She seemed about to cough up blood from Ruan Yuexi’s provocation.
Butler Li had initially wanted to remind Madam to be cautious of this woman. He never thought it would be the other way around. Madam was handling it well, very well!
Ruan Yuexi seemed unaware of Tang Qingqing’s extreme frustration and saw her glancing upstairs again.
“Is there anything else besides thanking me?” Ruan Yuexi asked on purpose.
Tang Qingqing clearly didn’t want to leave. “Can I wait for Brother Shang Yao to come down? I want to thank him personally,” she said, lowering her head shyly.
Butler Li rolled his eyes, thinking how shameless she was to be so bold in front of Madam.
Ruan Yuexi had anticipated this. “Oh.” She didn’t care and didn’t stop her. The female lead waiting for the male lead was normal. As a supporting character, she wouldn’t interfere.
Tang Qingqing seemed surprised by Ruan Yuexi’s calm demeanor and lack of anger.
“Don’t misunderstand, I have nothing to do with Brother Shang Yao.”
“Of course, I wouldn’t misunderstand. Even if you were both lying naked in the same bed, I would believe nothing happened,” Ruan Yuexi replied indifferently. They could do whatever they wanted, as long as it didn’t drag her, a mere supporting character, into it.
Tang Qingqing’s face turned bright red. “You… I…” she stammered, not knowing what to say.
Butler Li couldn’t bear to listen any longer. “Madam, you can’t be so naive as to trust such dubious people. Clearly, they have ulterior motives.”
Tang Qingqing was at a loss under his scrutinizing gaze, biting her lip, unsure of how to explain.
Ruan Yuexi realized this was a good opportunity to increase her abuse value. “Oh, Uncle Li, how could I bear to see Brother Yao sad? I can support Brother Yao and her. As long as Brother Yao is happy, I will be at peace.”
Butler Li was frantic. “Madam, you can’t be so kind-hearted…”
Ruan Yuexi sighed deeply, pretending to be too heartbroken to speak.
Tang Qingqing: “…” She could feel the hostile stares from the servants and the extreme vigilance from Butler Li.
“I…” She tried to explain, but Ruan Yuexi interrupted her.
“No need to say more. You can wait if you want, just try not to make too much noise…” Ruan Yuexi covered her face as if she couldn’t continue, then ran out of the villa.
“Madam! Madam!” Butler Li hurriedly instructed the servants to follow her.
Xiaofang, a maid, chased after her. “Madam, that woman is obviously trying to sow discord between you and the master. You can’t let her succeed.”
Ruan Yuexi sat on the swing in the middle of the garden, swinging absentmindedly. “I understand what you mean, but if Brother Yao didn’t like her, there wouldn’t be an opportunity for others to meddle, would there? Brother Yao despises me, and deceiving myself won’t change that.”
Ruan Yuexi clutched her chest, appearing heartbroken as she leaned on the swing. She hadn’t even known there was a garden here. The scenery was beautiful.
Xiaofang fell silent, realizing that what the madam said was true.
Ruan Yuexi looked at the sea of flowers before her, with another villa not far on the opposite side. The view was mesmerizing. “I’m fine. Just let me be alone for a while,” she said, still feigning sadness.
Xiaofang was about to nod but was stunned by Ruan Yuexi’s side profile. Her long, black hair fell loosely around her waist and shoulders. Her delicate, jade-like face was as beautiful as an immortal’s, and even the simple white dress couldn’t hide her alluring figure.
A beauty like a painting, stunning beyond comparison. Xiaofang was entranced, realizing how much more beautiful Ruan Yuexi was compared to the woman who had been sitting on the sofa earlier.
