Female Lead Tang Qingqing
The entire brightly lit hall, filled with revelry and extravagance, suddenly fell silent as everyone turned towards the door, looking perplexed at Ruan Yuexi.
Everyone stared at Ruan Yuexi in disbelief, clearly taken aback by her sudden appearance.
Feng Yi rubbed his face in irritation as he stared at the figure in the doorway, then strode over angrily, “Ruan Yuexi?? Who let you come here?”
The smell in the hall was overwhelming to Ruan Yuexi. It must have been Feng Yi who spoke to her, known for his notorious temper. Upon seeing him, she instinctively took a few steps back.
“Speak!” Feng Yi’s infamous temper flared up. Few dared to provoke him, especially considering his friendship with Shang Yao.
“You smell so bad! Stay away from me,” Ruan Yuexi wrinkled her nose, struggling to breathe.
Feng Yi’s face turned green. Perhaps someone had opened a window, for Ruan Yuexi finally recovered and grinned at Feng Yi, “What are you all doing? Taking a bath?”
Not only was the living room wet, but there were also buckets around.
Feng Yi’s veins bulged as he jumped a few times. You think we’re taking a bath? It’s you and your whole family who need one.
“You came to find me,” Feng Yi restrained his anger for the sake of Shang Yao’s face.
“No, I’m just waiting for Brother Yao. You guys continue with your bath. Pretend I’m not here,” Ruan Yuexi was unusually patient, smiling as if oblivious to Feng Yi’s expression.
Feng Yi was almost vomiting with anger, “Go away, have fun by yourselves.” He picked up a cigarette and sat next to Ruan Yuexi and started smoking.
As expected, Ruan Yuexi covered her mouth and moved two seats away with great disgust, not waiting for Feng Yi to be proud.
Ruan Yuexi couldn’t help covering her mouth in disgust, shifting away two seats without waiting for Feng Yi to gloat.
“Why is your breath so foul, like you swallowed a stink bug and are about to suffocate me,” Ruan Yuexi’s words hit like a bombshell, instantly turning Feng Yi’s face as dark as the bottom of a pot.
The men and women around him struggled to stifle their laughter. Only one man dared to laugh heartily, “Haha… stink bug, I’m dying of laughter.”
“Ruan Yuexi!” Feng Yi’s teeth were itching with hatred.
Ruan Yuexi’s ears rang from the shouting, “No need to be so loud, I can hear you. I’m not deaf like you, playing music as if to shake the Three Realms.”
Feng Yi seethed with suppressed rage, his handsome face alternating between red and blue.
So Ruan Yuexi was pushed out of the door by Feng Yi. Helpless, she had to cross the corridor and find a spacious, well-ventilated place to sit.
Leaning back on the sofa, an elderly housekeeper brought over fruits and juices to place beside Ruan Yuexi.
“Mrs. Shang, please enjoy,” the housekeeper said.
Seeing the delicious food, Ruan Yuexi smiled genuinely, “Thank you,” unabashedly picking up a plate of fruits and starting to eat.
The housekeeper was struck by her radiant smile. Mrs. Shang was truly beautiful, but it was a pity that Mr. Shang didn’t seem to appreciate the gem he had.
As Ruan Yuexi enjoyed the scenery and the sea breeze outside. After a while, there was a commotion outside the door, and it seemed that someone had come.
Stuffing a few cherries into her mouth, she stood up and peeked out curiously towards the door.
Several men and women walked in, including the male lead Shang Yao, who stood out prominently among them.
One of the women wore a white dress, delicate and charming, occasionally glancing at Shang Yao.
Beside her, a man with gold-rimmed glasses kept his eyes on the woman in the white dress.
From this angle, Ruan Yuexi could see the complicated relationships clearly—love triangles and unrequited affections. Truly a melodramatic plot that drew one in.
“Brother Yao,” Ruan Yuexi ran towards Shang Yao.
Shang Yao’s cold and aloof expression turned even colder upon seeing Ruan Yuexi. There was a flicker of disgust in his eyes.
The others couldn’t help but laugh at Ruan Yuexi’s antics, while the man with gold-rimmed glasses gracefully led the woman in white, Tang Qingqing, away from the scene.
Tang Qingqing looked back anxiously at Shang Yao, allowing Lu Yiliang to hold her hand.
Ruan Yuexi didn’t bother with Shang Yao, just circled around him and grinned. Shang Yao glanced at her once before averting his gaze.
Ruan Yuexi couldn’t help but complain inwardly. If not for the sake of the plot, she wouldn’t bother with him. What a joke!
Shang Yao subtly stepped back as Ruan Yuexi approached, prompting laughter from the others nearby.
“Ruan Yuexi, seriously, even if Brother Yao dislikes you, how can your face be so thick?” Ning Chen sneered at Ruan Yuexi’s pretentious and shameless behavior.
The other man and woman couldn’t help but laugh at Ruan Yuexi. Wasn’t it enough that she was humiliated that day? Now she still dares to pester Shang Yao. How shameless!
Ruan Yuexi scrutinized the three individuals before her. “Are you the one whose mouth can’t speak ivory?”
Who is the man who spoke?
Ning Chen didn’t expect that Ruan Yuexi, who used to be so proud of herself and would only go to Shang Yao when she was humiliated, would actually confront him.
Ruan Yuexi thought for a moment. “That metaphor doesn’t work. Dogs are very cute. Don’t insult dogs.”
“You!” Ning Chen had never been so angry before. He moved forward, intending to push Ruan Yuexi, but was stopped by the other two.
“Brother Ning, calm down.”
“Don’t bother with her. A gentleman doesn’t remember the offenses of petty people.”
He scolded Ruan Yuexi by the way. Ruan Yuexi rolled her eyes and said, “I won’t argue with you. After all, the petty person will overdo it with a gentleman.” She patted her stomach and smiled provocatively at Ning Chen.
Ning Chen, who had finally calmed down, was angry again. “Ruan Yuexi! Let go of me. Today, I will teach her a lesson!”
As a result, the two people who were trying to stop the fight didn’t dare to say anything. Shang Yao, who was standing aside, had no intention of protecting Ruan Yuexi at all, and walked towards where Tang Qingqing and the others were.
Ruan Yuexi didn’t expect Shang Yao to help her. With his peculiar personality, it was good that he didn’t harm her.
“Teach me a lesson? With your small frame… it might be a bit difficult,” Ruan Yuexi approached Ning Chen, getting close to him.
Ning Chen was originally furious, but was unexpectedly stunned by the sight of Ruan Yuexi in front of him: her delicate cherry lips, eyes sparkling with mischief, stunningly beautiful.
“Hey?” Ruan Yuexi waved her hand in front of him, noticing his distracted state.
Ning Chen’s throat moved involuntarily a few times. “For Brother Yao’s sake, I won’t bother with you.” With a dodging glance, he walked away from Ruan Yuexi.
Ruan Yuexi shrugged and followed him a few steps. If she guessed correctly, the man she had just argued with was Ning Chen, the fifth male lead.
In the plot, almost all of Shang Yao’s friends liked the female lead Tang Qingqing. But Ning Chen, well, aside from his sharp tongue, wasn’t really a bad person.
“Hey, treat me to a hotpot,” she approached Ning Chen from behind.
Walking and turning his head to glare at Ruan Yuexi, Ning Chen muttered, “Nonsense.” As a result, he turned and bumped into a transparent glass wall with a loud “bang,” causing a predictable amount of pain.
Ruan Yuexi shrugged again. “If you were a bit more generous, I might have reminded you.” She chuckled mischievously, hands behind her back as she walked away.
Ning Chen covered his nose and forehead. “Ruan Yuexi!! You infuriate me!”
Humming a tune, Ruan Yuexi entered the hall, where everyone fell silent at the sight of her.
She didn’t feel awkward at all. “Hi, nice to see you all again,” she smiled sweetly.
Feng Yi gritted his teeth at the sight of her. Why was she here again? “What are you doing here again?” He didn’t give Ruan Yuexi any face.
Shang Yao seemed not to have noticed Ruan Yuexi’s presence at all, his lips pursed in an expression nobody could read.
The atmosphere was tense, someone was about to break the silence, probably feeling sorry for Ruan Yuexi.
“Are you deaf or blind? I’m looking for Brother Yao,” Ruan Yuexi coquettishly approached Shang Yao.
As Ruan Yuexi leaned closer to Shang Yao, his expression remained cold, but he made no move to step away, apparently resigned to her persistence.
Tang Qingqing watched Shang Yao, who was uncharacteristically not rejecting Ruan Yuexi, and her heart was in turmoil, her face pale.
Lu Yiliang frowned slightly, then relaxed without making a sound.
Ruan Yuexi, surprised that Shang Yao didn’t avoid her, wondered inwardly. Wasn’t he usually repulsed by her proximity?
Feng Yi choked on his drink at Ruan Yuexi’s retort, finding her audacious clinging to Shang Yao amusing. “Ruan Yuexi, you really know how to read people’s faces.”
The others joined in laughing. Ruan Yuexi, however, didn’t feel offended at all.
“Thank you very much. When it comes to reading people, you’re unmatched. After all, you’re so perceptive,” she gave him a thumbs up.
Feng Yi: “…” His hand itched with irritation.
Zhao Yi couldn’t help but laugh again. Feng Yi shot him a threatening look, causing him to stop laughing immediately, only to burst into laughter again moments later.
Ning Chen entered, looking quite handsome but annoyed, sitting silently on the side, ignoring everyone.
Ruan Yuexi elbowed Shang Yao playfully. Shang Yao’s cold eyes, filled with endless coldness, stared at Ruan Yuexi. There was no warmth in his gaze.
“Brother Yao, you’re so good-looking. You’re even more handsome than that big morning glory at the entrance of the village,” Ruan Yuexi sweetly smiled.
Shang Yao: “…”
Feng Yi had just taken a sip of his drink and was caught off guard by this statement. He almost choked, coughing violently, torn between wanting to laugh and coughing. It was so uncomfortable.
