Ruan Yuexi fell onto Shang Yao, but she felt that when they landed, he still held her tightly. Didn’t he drink the spiked drink? How did he still have strength?

Tang Qingqing was startled by the sudden incident. The elevator dinged, signaling someone had arrived on this floor. She quickly reacted, “Drag them into the room first. Go call your boss and have him take Ruan Yuexi away. Hurry.”

The man had initially wanted to attack Tang Qingqing but realized she was an ally. Without wasting time, he hid them.

Shang Yao and Ruan Yuexi were dragged into a hotel room by the man in the black shirt and Tang Qingqing.

Ruan Yuexi remained conscious the whole time. She couldn’t believe she had fallen into a trap. Her mind was racing, thinking about her next move.

The two were dragged into the room. The man in the black shirt placed the stick beside Ruan Yuexi, showing no defense against her.

Ruan Yuexi quietly opened her eyes and, seeing the stick, quickly shut them again, pretending to be unconscious.

“I’ll carry her to the next room. You call Miss Liu Yaran up here,” the man in the black shirt said, thinking that Tang Qingqing was someone sent by Liu Yaran.

Tang Qingqing paused for a few seconds upon hearing Liu Yaran’s name. “Alright, go ahead.” 

So it was Liu Yaran!

Ruan Yuexi wasn’t surprised at all. It had to be Liu Yaran, but she didn’t expect her to bring in help. Truly, Liu Yaran had gone to great lengths.

The man in the black shirt was talking to Tang Qingqing when Tang Qingqing’s eyes widened, staring at something behind the man.

Ruan Yuexi had quietly picked up the stick and stood behind the man. The man had sensed something, but it was too late.

Using all her strength, she swung the stick at the man’s back. He groaned and fell to his knees.

When she swung again, the man caught the stick in her hands. Ruan Yuexi’s strength was no match for his.

“I knew I didn’t hit you. You were quite smart.” The man in the black shirt grimaced in pain as he stood up again.

He snatched the stick from Ruan Yuexi. Ruan Yuexi quickly retreated a few steps, and just as the man was about to strike, someone grabbed him from behind. The man struggled but couldn’t break free.

Ruan Yuexi was stunned to see Shang Yao up and moving. She had seen him drink the drugged juice.

Not only was Ruan Yuexi shocked, but Tang Qingqing also looked as if she’d seen a ghost, her face pale with disbelief. “How is this possible?”

Shang Yao swiftly tied the man in the black shirt in the corner without saying a word.

“Didn’t you drink that juice?” Ruan Yuexi couldn’t hold back her question.

Shang Yao glanced at her with his expressionless face. “The drugged one was switched out.”

Ruan Yuexi was taken aback, remembering the bodyguard. He must have discovered it early and planned to catch everyone in one go.

“Brother Yao, you could have reported them directly,” Ruan Yuexi said, speechless. Given his twisted personality, did he find this amusing and decide to play along?

“I have nothing to do, so I can relieve my boredom.”

Ruan Yuexi: “…” Of course, he was just playing. If she hadn’t been quick-witted just now, that blow could have at least given her a concussion.

Annoyed, she glared at him secretly. The man in the black shirt struggled in the corner, his mouth stuffed with a towel.

Tang Qingqing sat on the bed, collapsing in despair. Her eyes filled with hopelessness as she looked at Shang Yao. She wanted to explain but had no way to defend herself.

Shang Yao had no intention of letting her go. He strode up and pinned Tang Qingqing against the wall. She pleaded for mercy, seeing the intense killing intent in his eyes.

“Let me explain, it’s not what it looks like. I just wanted to save…uh…” Her words were cut off as his grip tightened around her throat.

Shang Yao clearly wasn’t listening, his cold, unfeeling eyes fixed on her.

Ruan Yuexi opened the door and looked outside. There was no one outside. She stuck her head out and looked for several seconds before retracting her head. “Brother Yao…”

In the blink of an eye, Tang Qingqing was pinned to the wall by Shang Yao. Just like last time, her feet were hanging in the air.

Ruan Yuexi hurried to stop Shang Yao. “Brother Yao, enough. It’s not worth it to kill her.”

Shang Yao glanced at her and after a few seconds, released his grip. Tang Qingqing slid to the floor, gasping for air.

Ruan Yuexi wondered why Tang Qingqing had involved herself. Wasn’t Shang Yao hers anyway?

“There won’t be a next time.” Shang Yao said in a cold voice.

Tang Qingqing was still coughing, unable to speak.

Ruan Yuexi turned her gaze back to Shang Yao. “Brother Yao, what now?”

Shang Yao sat on the sofa. “We wait.”

Wait? Ruan Yuexi was puzzled.

As she wondered, two bodyguards entered. “Mr. Shang, everything is ready.”

“Good,” Shang Yao replied, looking relaxed.

Ruan Yuexi guessed what Shang Yao intended. He could have captured them all earlier but chose to play it out. How boring.

The bodyguards forced the man in the black shirt to call Brother Liu and Liu Yaran. He received several kicks before he cooperated.

“Hey, Brother Liu, it’s done. Room 2888. I’ve informed Miss Yaran.”

Brother Liu was pleased with the efficiency. “Good job, you didn’t disappoint me.” His mind filled with thoughts of Ruan Yuexi, he eagerly took the elevator up.

Ruan Yuexi sat on the sofa next to Shang Yao, occasionally glancing at him.

Liu Yaran, also receiving the call, was elated. She emerged from a nearby room, taking a deep breath as she approached room 2888. Her destiny was about to change.

With determination, she opened the door, but the sight inside made her tremble. As she tried to escape, a bodyguard blocked her way.

Brother Liu, excited, reached the floor and rushed to room 2888. Unlike Liu Yaran, he didn’t hesitate. He opened the door to find the beautiful Ruan Yuexi sitting leisurely beside Shang Yao.

All eyes turned to him, and Brother Liu broke out in a cold sweat, remembering the rumors of Shang Yao’s ruthless methods.

“Sorry, wrong room.” He turned to run but was met with a punch.

“Ah!!” Brother Liu fell to the ground, but the bodyguard didn’t stop despite his screams.

Ruan Yuexi didn’t dare to watch but didn’t stop it either. She knew what these people intended to do to her. If they had succeeded, the consequences would have been unimaginable.

When Brother Liu was beaten to the point of being barely conscious, the bodyguards finally stopped. Liu Yaran was huddled in the corner, trembling. Next to her was Tang Qingqing, who squatted beside her in silence.

Shang Yao brushed off the dust from his clothes and stood up. Ruan Yuexi followed him like a little follower.

He paused beside Brother Liu. “The weather is getting colder, it’s time for the Liu family to disappear.”

Without even glancing at Brother Liu on the floor, he left with those words.

Ruan Yuexi felt a mix of embarrassment and satisfaction. The line “The weather is getting colder, it’s time for the Liu family to disappear” was so typical of a domineering CEO. 

It was awesome.

She quickly followed Shang Yao with small steps. “Brother Yao, when you said the Liu family would go bankrupt just now, you looked really cool.”

Shang Yao stopped and looked at her. “Who said the Liu family would just go bankrupt?”

Ruan Yuexi: “? Isn’t that what you meant? That sentence clearly implied it.” Was he that kind-hearted? He didn’t seem like that kind of person.

“Disappear means more than just bankruptcy.” Shang Yao seemed to enjoy correcting Ruan Yuexi’s wording.

Ruan Yuexi: “…”

Right, I knew Shang Yao wouldn’t be so kind. I can’t believe the head of the Liu family’s was so brainless. Haven’t they heard of Shang Yao’s reputation?
