Divorce Agreement
Xiao Fang was extremely anxious. Where could Madam have gone? At this moment, she felt that it was all the master’s fault. If he hadn’t treated Madam so poorly, she wouldn’t have left home.
Shang Yao probably didn’t expect Ruan Yuexi to disappear. He solemnly made a call to Secretary Fang to track Ruan Yuexi’s whereabouts.
Secretary Fang quickly checked but found no records of Ruan Yuexi’s transportation or card transactions. This was where Ruan Yuexi was smart. she had withdrawn a lot of cash.
“President, there are no records of Madam’s transportation or card usage,” Secretary Fang said, worried about whether Madam might encounter trouble alone.
Shang Yao’s frown deepened. “Check the hotels.”
Secretary Fang started looking but found it impossible to track. Despite several attempts, there was no success.
“President, we can’t find any hotel information on her at the moment. I’m sorry.” Secretary Fang had to give up the search.
“Keep searching. We must find out where she is.” Shang Yao’s voice was low and tense.
Xiao Fang was even more anxious when she heard that the master couldn’t locate madam. What should she do? She was so worried that tears started to flow.
Shang Yao, with a dark expression, went upstairs and paused outside Ruan Yuexi’s room. Without hesitation, he opened the door.
He meticulously examined Ruan Yuexi’s room, stopping again at the vanity. He picked up the divorce agreement, his face expressionless as he flipped through it. Ruan Yuexi’s signature and fingerprint were clearly visible to him.
He stared at the divorce agreement for a while, then let out a light laugh. He ripped the agreement apart and threw it in the trash, then opened Ruan Yuexi’s drawer.
All the jewelry was gone. “She is quite clever.” he said, his tone carrying a vague emotion.
That night, Shang Yao lay in bed but couldn’t sleep. Ruan Yuexi’s image kept appearing in his mind.
The car drove for several hours and finally reached Lanting City late at night.
Ruan Yuexi could already smell the sea from Lanting City on the car ride; it was the scent of freedom.
She was finally free! Ruan Yuexi gazed out the window with sparkling eyes.
The taxi driver, however, watched Ruan Yuexi’s reflection in the rearview mirror, worried as she stared at the sea, fearing she might be feeling hopeless.
“Miss, life has its hurdles, but nothing you can’t overcome. Try to be optimistic,” the taxi driver guessed that she must have had an argument with her husband and left home.
Ruan Yuexi smiled, not contradicting the taxi driver’s words. After all, he meant well.
“Don’t worry, I might not be good at much, but one thing I can do is eat, drink, and sleep well,” Ruan Yuexi said cheerfully, her mood lifted by her newfound freedom.
The taxi driver felt a bit relieved. “Alright then. If you need anything, make sure to tell your family, okay?”
Ruan Yuexi nodded. “Thank you, Sir.”
“You’re welcome. I’ve seen many people who have lost hope in life. Sometimes, we shouldn’t have too many desires, or life will be painful…” The taxi driver fell silent once they arrived at the hotel.
Ruan Yuexi was about to get out of the car when the driver called out to her, “Staying in a hotel might not be safe!”
Ruan Yuexi knew the driver was concerned for her. “I’ll return home early tomorrow morning. I don’t want to disturb my parents’ sleep tonight since they’re light sleepers.”
The taxi driver hesitated for a moment before nodding. He looked at the luxurious hotel and said, “Then please be careful.”
Ruan Yuexi smiled and thanked him, handing over the prepared money and quickly getting out of the car.
The taxi driver, surprised by the generous tip, tried to return some of it, but Ruan Yuexi had already taken her suitcase and was walking away, waving goodbye.
“Miss! You’ve given too much!” The driver called after her anxiously.
“This is what you deserve. Thank you for your hard work,” Ruan Yuexi replied, pulling her suitcase and walking away.
The taxi driver wanted to get out of the car, but the cars behind him were honking persistently. Reluctantly, he drove off, and by the time he returned to the hotel, Ruan Yuexi had already disappeared.
Ruan Yuexi checked into the hotel for the night, planning to look for a suitable apartment the next day.
She searched online for a while but didn’t find anything suitable. Exhausted, she fell into a deep sleep.
The next morning, she woke up close to noon, sitting on the bed in blissful contentment, free from any worries.
After stretching and getting up to wash up, Ruan Yuexi planned to find a good place to live today. She yawned again, feeling relaxed.
Dressed and ready, she went outside the hotel. The wind was a bit strong, but the vast sea in the distance was stunning. She hadn’t realized she was so close to the ocean last night due to her rush to rest.
Her mood improved further as she strolled along the seaside. The streets were clean, and it was the ideal place she had imagined.
After a leisurely walk, she focused on finding an apartment. It took her only half a day to secure a lease for a small apartment. The place was decently furnished, and she wasn’t one to spend extravagantly.
After signing the contract and moving into the apartment, Ruan Yuexi was exhausted from cleaning but felt secure in her new home.
She had been living in this world for a while now, navigating between the main characters.
Now she could finally be herself. Ruan Yuexi planned to find a job in a while.
At the villa, Shang Yao hadn’t slept for two nights and looked increasingly haggard.
He got out of bed and went to Ruan Yuexi’s room, lying down in the place where she used to sleep, deeply inhaling her lingering scent on the bed and pillow.
Holding the blanket she used, he slowly drifted off to sleep.
When Ye Yishen learned that Ruan Yuexi was missing, his delicate, handsome face showed a clear disturbance. He was enjoying himself, and now she had suddenly disappeared.
“Make sure to investigate thoroughly,” he said. He was determined to be the first to find her and make her his.
Meanwhile, Lu Yiliang was staring at Tang Qingqing, who was nervously sitting on the sofa opposite him.
“Although I find it hard to believe you did this, every piece of evidence points to you,” Lu Yiliang said, his face filled with uncontrollable sorrow.
Tang Qingqing was pinching her own hand, trying to calm her inner panic, but she couldn’t bring herself to speak.
“Do you understand the gravity of what’s been done? Do you think Shang Yao is easy to mess with? If I hadn’t intervened, he would have found out about you a long time ago.”
Lu Yiliang never imagined that the person he loved would disappoint him so much. Even if Shang Yao hadn’t discovered the truth yet, it would only take him a couple of days to trace it back to Tang Qingqing.
Tang Qingqing began to cry in fear. “But I was very careful. That person said no one would be able to find anything.”
Lu Yiliang’s eyes were filled with disappointment. “He was right. He covered his tracks completely, but all the evidence points to you.”
Tang Qingqing slumped helplessly on the sofa, fully aware of Shang Yao’s capabilities.
