Found the Wife! Part 1

“Is what you said true?” Luo Yuqin asked with anxiety and disbelief. She hadn’t expected her son, whom she had raised, to be so morally corrupt.

Ning Chen reluctantly nodded. “Although I’m also surprised, it’s indeed true.”

Old Master Ning sighed heavily. “If I had known earlier, I wouldn’t have forced them into marriage. If something happens to the Ruan family’s daughter, what will we do?”

Old Master Ning expressed regret and disappointment, and Luo Yuqin clenched her fists tightly. Shang Lie, standing nearby, furrowed his brow.

“Finding her is the priority,” Shang Lie finally said, showing that they were indeed anxious.

Luo Yuqin glanced at Shang Lie and then made calls to deploy all available manpower to search for Ruan Yuexi.

After arranging everything, Luo Yuqin was deeply distressed thinking about what her son had done. She hadn’t seen the report, which meant Shang Yao had deliberately intercepted the information to keep them in the dark.

Luo Yuqin felt a heavy blockage in her heart. Ning Chen didn’t miss the opportunity to start the fire. “Aunt Luo, don’t blame Shang Yao too much. He was overwhelmed by his feelings. He’s protected that woman several times, even at the expense of Ruan Yuexi’s dignity, causing Yuexi to cry several times.”

Ning Chen shook his head helplessly. “You can’t force matters of the heart. This isn’t the first time Ruan Yuexi has been hurt by Shang Yao. It seems he really doesn’t like Ruan Yuexi.”

Luo Yuqin’s hands trembled with anger. “Even if he doesn’t like her, he shouldn’t have cheated! He shouldn’t have hurt Yuexi. We didn’t raise him to act like this!”

Ning Chen remained silent, waiting for Shang Yao’s arrival. Old Master Ning was also fuming. “I didn’t expect Shang Yao to be so ruthless in business and so unfeeling towards his own wife.”

Luo Yuqin felt even more ashamed, blaming herself for not properly educating her son and for bringing shame to their family.

Shang Lie silently held Luo Yuqin’s hand. Luo Yuqin was stunned for a moment before shaking his hand away, unusually angry, and giving Shang Lie a cold look.

Shang Lie: “…” His son’s mess wasn’t his fault.

Shang Lie, apart from lacking a presence, wouldn’t compete with her in front of others. It wasn’t that he couldn’t, but he had emotional difficulties and found it hard to take that step. However, for nearly everything else, he followed Luo Yuqin’s lead. Outside of work, he was like a transparent person.

Luo Yuqin felt angry whenever she saw Shang Lie. She had long been frustrated with their indifferent marital life. Shang Lie couldn’t express warmth or coldness, and although she knew he had psychological issues, she still needed someone to care for her.

Shang Yao’s issue directly triggered the long-standing conflicts between Luo Yuqin and Shang Lie. Shang Lie just stared at her, but Luo Yuqin didn’t want to pay him any attention.

Ning Chen felt a bit embarrassed. It seemed like he had implicated Uncle Shang, but then again, it couldn’t be said that he did, considering Uncle Shang had always been too cold towards Aunt Luo.

Old Master Ning also began to look at Shang Lie unfavorably. The temperament of these father and son pairs was exactly the same—cold and aloof. How great it would have been if Yuexi had married Ning Chen back then. But it was his grandson who was immature.

Ning Chen noticed Old Master Ning glaring at him.

Ning Chen thought, ‘What did I do? Why is Grandpa glaring at me?’

At this moment, Shang Yao returned to the old house and wasn’t surprised to see Ning Chen and Old Master Ning.

“Dad, Mom, Grandpa Ning,” Shang Yao greeted coldly.

Old Master Ning snorted, giving Shang Yao no face at all.

Shang Yao didn’t mind. Ning Chen waited to see the drama unfold. Luo Yuqin stood up and walked towards her son.

“Is Yuexi running away from home because of you and another woman? And I heard you embarrassed her several times at the banquets.” Luo Yuqin couldn’t help but question Shang Yao.

Shang Yao never liked explaining himself. His mother’s questions were indeed true. Ruan Yuexi had misunderstood him and Tang Qingqing. He knew Tang Qingqing’s intentions, but he had no interest in her.

“It’s true,” Shang Yao responded coldly.

The next second, a loud slap echoed in the large hall, leaving everyone silent.

Luo Yuqin, fueled by anger, slapped her son hard. Shang Yao’s face turned to the side from the impact.

Ning Chen and Old Master Ning were stunned, including Shang Lie, who couldn’t believe it but didn’t intend to help his son. Although he had psychological problems, he wasn’t stupid. Stepping in now would be like walking into gunfire.

Luo Yuqin’s hand trembled with anger. “Is this how I raised you? Cheating? Disrespecting your wife? Are you trying to be like your father?” She screamed in rage.

Ning Chen and Old Master Ning shifted their gaze to Shang Lie, absorbing the information.

Shang Lie, feeling wrongly implicated, thought, ‘What does this have to do with me? I never cheated!’

Shang Yao hadn’t expected his mother to hit him. His pupils quivered before he lowered his eyes in silence.

“Yuexi is such a good girl. She treats you well, doesn’t she? If you don’t like her, you can divorce her. Why hurt her repeatedly? Now she’s missing. What if something happens to her?”

Luo Yuqin was trembling with anger, seeing him remain silent made her even angrier. She slapped him hard on the back again.

“How did I raise such a son!” Luo Yuqin wished she could put him back in her womb and remake him.

Shang Yao stayed silent, letting Luo Yuqin vent her anger. She wanted to hit him again, but Ning Chen stopped her.

Ning Chen quickly intervened, “Aunt Luo, the priority now is to find Yuexi. Shang Yao knows he’s wrong.”

Luo Yuqin stopped her rage for a moment, but Shang Yao’s eyes were fixed on Ning Chen.

Ning Chen wasn’t afraid: “Admitting a mistake and correcting it is a great virtue.” He patted Shang Yao’s shoulder, clearly provoking him.

Shang Yao would have surely hit Ning Chen if it wasn’t for Luo Yuqin’s presence.

Shang Lie, unjustly targeted twice by Luo Yuqin, felt a bit aggrieved.

Old Master Ning grew increasingly dissatisfied with Shang Yao. Why did Yuexi like such a cold person? He didn’t seem likable at all.

Shang Yao sat silently beside Luo Yuqin and detailed the efforts to find Ruan Yue Xi.

After hearing, everyone discussed their options. Old Master Ning wondered why they didn’t report to the police. “Why not report to the police?”

“Ruan Yuexi left the villa on her own, leaving behind a divorce agreement,” Shang Yao revealed.

Everyone was stunned again. “What? A divorce agreement?”

Luo Yuqin stood up again. It seemed Ruan Yuexi was determined to leave Shang Yao.

Ning Chen was overjoyed. Ruan Yuexi wanted to divorce Shang Yao? Great! If not for the people around, he would have celebrated.

Old Master Ning could see his grandson’s thoughts. Besides worrying about Ruan Yuexi’s safety, he was also a bit happy. His future great-granddaughter would be beautiful!

“Hmm,” Shang Yao responded coldly.

Luo Yuqin glared at Shang Yao. If they’re going to divorce, so be it, as long as Ruan Yuexi wasn’t hurt. What a pity for such a good daughter-in-law.

After agreeing on a plan, they decided to search for another two days and then report to the police if necessary.

That night, Luo Yuqin pushed Shang Lie out of the bedroom, ignoring his resentful look. After handing him a pillow, she shut the door in his face.

Shang Lie knocked several times, but there was no response. He had to sleep in the study. Seeing his son pass by, obviously angry too, he slammed the study door. If it wasn’t for him, he wouldn’t be treated like this by his wife repeatedly.

Shang Yao thought, ‘Both my parents don’t like me. It feels like everyone is against me.’
