The Green Tea Supporting Character Disgusts The Male Lead Chapter 48

Accident!

The lady of the neighboring house next door seemed to dislike Ruan Yuexi very much and was hostile towards her. The words the little brat said were probably taught by this woman.

Ruan Yuexi had been attacked with such words by this little brat more than once. Faced with the inexplicable malicious slander from the neighbor’s woman, Ruan Yuexi could no longer bear it. She was not someone who could tolerate it.

She pretended to call the police, “Hello, officer? There’s a child here who keeps calling me a bad woman. Can I file a report for malicious slander?”

The neighbor woman, overhearing this, was furious. “What do you mean by that? Haven’t you heard ‘children speak innocently’?”

Ruan Yuexi wasn’t intimidated. “He’s a child. What’s your excuse? Are you mentally challenged, stuck at the intelligence level of a seven- or eight-year-old? If so, I might reconsider calling the police.”

The neighbor woman fumed, “Don’t push it too far!”

Ruan Yuexi flipped her hair. “If you don’t want me to report you, then shut your mouth and teach your child some manners. If you can’t, I don’t mind helping out.” With that, she entered her home, leaving the neighbor speechless.

The neighbor woman’s grudge against Ruan Yuexi stemmed from her jealousy. Her husband had admired Ruan Yuexi’s beauty. Ruan Yuexi, however, easily moved past the incident and continued with her day.

But trouble awaited her when she went out later.

After lunch and a nap, Ruan Yuexi decided to stroll around. Ignoring the mother and child downstairs, she wandered the streets, thinking about having a simple dinner. She still had many valuable jewelry pieces that could sustain her for years.

While buying a milk tea, someone bumped into her, causing her to drop it. The tea splattered onto a nearby sports car, attracting the attention of passersby.

Stunned, Ruan Yuexi watched as a couple emerged from the car. The man, seeing her beauty, was willing to let it slide, but his girlfriend was enraged by his interest in Ruan Yuexi.

The person who had bumped into Ruan Yuexi was long gone, leaving her to deal with the aftermath. “I’m sorry, it was an accident…” she began.

“Sorry? If apologies were enough, we wouldn’t need the police!” the woman retorted harshly.

The man beside her seemed annoyed. “It’s just milk tea. A wash will do.”

The woman, though intimidated by the man, vented her frustration on Ruan Yuexi. “In that case, pay up,” she demanded arrogantly.

Ruan Yuexi kept her composure despite disliking the phrase “if apologies were enough.” She thought compensation was reasonable in some situations, but not when minor accidents were blown out of proportion.

“How much?” she asked, expecting the woman to demand a few hundred yuan for the minor stain on the car.

“Ten thousand yuan,” the woman sneered.

Even the woman’s boyfriend was taken aback. “Are you crazy? Don’t listen to her. You don’t need to pay.”

The woman grew even angrier. “Why shouldn’t she pay? I demand ten thousand yuan!”

Onlookers murmured, finding the woman’s behavior excessive.

Ruan Yuexi remained calm. “I can pay you, but the amount isn’t up to you. If you insist, we can settle this at the police station.”

The woman’s bravado faltered. At the police station, given the minor nature of the damage, the most she could expect would be compensation for a car wash.

The man was clearly embarrassed by the woman’s antics. “You’re making a scene.”

The woman, losing face, sought another angle. “I was frightened when the milk tea hit the car. I deserve compensation for emotional distress.”

Ruan Yuexi, tired of the argument, took out a thousand yuan and placed it on the car’s hood. She turned to leave without another word.

“Hey! Who are you trying to fool with a thousand yuan? How do I know you didn’t do this out of jealousy because I’m in a sports car and you’re not?” The woman blocked Ruan Yuexi’s path.

The man, deeply embarrassed, wished he could disappear under the scrutiny of the crowd.

Ruan Yuexi, unfazed, stared at the woman. “Say one more word, and I’ll charge you with extortion and defamation.” She countered firmly.

The woman was taken aback but quickly composed herself, scrutinizing Ruan Yuexi. “You’re just jealous of me. You’re not as pretty and can only afford cheap milk tea.”

Ruan Yuexi, incredulous at the woman’s pettiness, regarded her as if she were an alien.

“What are you looking at?” the woman snapped, feeling unsettled.

“I’m trying to see if there’s anything human about you,” Ruan Yuexi replied, earning chuckles from the crowd.

“Y-you…” the woman stammered, unable to find a retort.

“Let’s go to the police station then. Whatever the police decide, I’ll follow,” Ruan Yuexi said, eager to end the pointless argument.

The woman, reluctant to go to the police, continued to argue until another woman hurriedly approached the scene.

“Excuse me, excuse me,” the newcomer said, squeezing through the crowd. She stopped beside Ruan Yuexi, out of breath. “I’m so sorry. I was rushing to clock in at work and didn’t realize I bumped into you. What happened?” She looked around, seeing the milk tea and the sports car.

Seeing the newcomer’s genuine concern, Ruan Yuexi dismissed it. “It’s fine.”

“It’s not fine! Look at my car!” the woman yelled, sensing an easier target.

The newcomer apologized profusely, inadvertently fueling the woman’s arrogance.

“I get that you might never have touched a luxury car in your life, but you need to take responsibility for the consequences,” the woman sneered.

Ruan Yuexi, fed up, started calling the police. At that moment, a Maybach pulled up, drawing everyone’s attention.

Recognizing the car, Ruan Yuexi’s face paled. It was Shang Yao’s. She turned to run but saw Secretary Fang step out, indicating Shang Yao wasn’t in the car.

Secretary Fang, exuding authority, approached Ruan Yuexi. “Madam, it’s time to go home,” she said gently.

The woman’s jaw dropped. “M-madam?” She glanced between the Maybach and Ruan Yuexi in disbelief.

Ruan Yuexi stepped back, only to bump into a solid form behind her. A familiar presence surrounded her.

“Where do you think you’re going?” Shang Yao’s deep voice murmured in her ear.

Terrified, Ruan Yuexi forced a smile. “What a coincidence. What brings you here?”

“Been searching for you for half a year,” Shang Yao’s voice held a chilling edge.

To Ruan Yuexi, it sounded ominous, her fear of Shang Yao intensifying her anxiety.

“Look! Over there!” She tried to distract him, but Shang Yao, wise to her tricks, scooped her up and headed towards the car.

Secretary Fang, quick to open the door, knew failing to do so would cost her job. So she had to let the lady down.

“Let go of me! Shang Yao, you bastard!” Ruan Yuexi hit him hard.

The surrounding people watched as if they were watching a TV drama—handsome men and beautiful women—wasn’t it just like a drama?

The woman who had been causing trouble earlier, saying that Ruan Yuexi would never get close to a sports car in her life, was now being slapped in the face. Faced with the mocking eyes of the crowd, the woman’s face turned bright red. The man felt too embarrassed, so he stuffed a thousand yuan into the woman’s hand and drove away.

The woman quickly hailed a taxi to leave, feeling utterly humiliated.

Ruan Yuexi was carried into the car. “Hey! Shang Yao, when will you stop? Can’t you see I don’t want to be with you? Forced love is never sweet.”
