Chapter 10: Disciplinary Punishment
Qi Bei carried Jin Yue to the car in his arms. This—didn’t their first meeting just completely fall apart?
003 must think she made a mistake, right? Jin Yue thought. She had tried so hard to escape the plot, but the male lead just wouldn’t let go of her.
No, she had to try harder.
Jin Yue glanced at Qi Bei, who was sitting in the driver’s seat. He was wearing a gentle smile, completely unrecognizable from how cold he had been toward the female lead just moments ago.
Also, thinking about how he acted like a rogue toward her, he certainly didn’t seem like the mature and steady character described in the book. Could it be that he’s also transmigrated?
Maybe she should test it: “Qi Bei, maybe… the domineering CEO has fallen for me?”
Qi Bei’s gaze flickered slightly, and he looked at Jin Yue with an ambiguous expression.
“So you like that kind of thing? Also, have you forgotten how to call me?”
Qi Bei remembered seeing a post online about “What should a boyfriend do in a relationship.” He had briefly glanced at it before, but now, it seemed to have some use after all. He’d have to revisit it later.
Jin Yue laughed awkwardly. “I don’t like that kind of thing! I was just saying it casually.”
Then she continued: “Qi Bei, I’m being serious. The way we started this, didn’t we rush into things? We confirmed our relationship without really knowing anything. I don’t know why you agreed, but I also don’t think you have deep feelings for me. You’re the heir of the Qi family; what kind of women haven’t you seen? It wouldn’t be possible for you to get so attached to me.”
“I just can’t figure out what I have that makes you want to be with me. Why would you want to date me?”
Can’t figure it out?
If he didn’t understand, how could she?
He had always scoffed at the idea of “love at first sight.” On the surface, it sounded like “love at first sight,” but honestly, wasn’t it just lust?
Such shallow things—how could he possibly act on them?
But, when he thought back to the first moment he saw her in the mall, his heart had felt like it was struck by something. His heart raced, and his entire focus was on her.
It sounded exaggerated, but it was like fate.
He never expected that the mature and steady man he was known to be would become like a different person when he was with her.
He’d never forced anything in his life, but since he had fallen for her, he decided to pull her into his arms.
Qi Bei gently cupped Jin Yue’s face in his hands, not hiding the deep affection in his eyes.
“You only need to know that I’m serious about you. I like you.”
“I don’t care what your reasons are for being with me. Once you’re by my side, I won’t let you go.”
Jin Yue looked into Qi Bei’s eyes, startled by the unreserved affection in them.
This plot was completely breaking down!
“Warning! Warning! You are getting too close to the male lead, attempting to entice him into confessing, thereby disrupting the romantic plot between the male and female leads. As a punishment, you will be electrocuted as a warning!”
003’s voice had barely faded when Jin Yue felt as if she were being shocked all over her body. It felt like there was a drill in her head. The pain was so intense that she almost couldn’t bear it.
She couldn’t help but tremble, and eventually, after the waves of pain hit her, her body went limp, and she passed out.
Qi Bei watched as the little person in his arms, who had been fine just moments ago, collapsed in his embrace. He was terrified, his heart clenched in pain, and his hands trembled as he held her.
“Yueyue! Yueyue!”
She didn’t respond. It was only then that Qi Bei seemed to react. His shaking hand took out his phone and dialed a number.
“Haozi, come to the door quickly! Hurry!”
Then, he carefully moved Jin Yue to the back seat.
Liu Jinghao quickly arrived at the door. Qi Bei rolled down the window and anxiously shouted at him: “Hurry up and drive! Yueyue suddenly fainted, take her to the hospital! I need to stay in the back with her!”
The car quickly sped away from the bar, heading straight for the hospital.
Once they arrived at the hospital, Qi Bei rushed into the emergency room, still holding Jin Yue. He disappeared quickly.
**Outside the Emergency Room:**
“Who is the patient’s family?” The female doctor, who had just come out of the exam room, asked.
Seeing Qi Bei pacing anxiously, he immediately stepped forward. “I’m the one. How is she?”
“We’ve checked her over, and her body doesn’t show any abnormal conditions. We still don’t know the cause of her fainting, so we need to transfer her to a ward for observation.”
“How can she faint without any abnormalities? Did you do a full checkup on her…?”
Qi Bei was still asking questions when he saw Jin Yue being pushed out of the exam room. He quickly followed.
Liu Jinghao was left behind to handle the remaining matters.
**In the VIP Room:**
Qi Bei sat beside the bed, staring at the pale-faced girl.
“Qi Bei,” a soft voice called from the door.
It was Su Chenxi, who had arrived at the hospital with Liu Jinghao earlier. But Qi Bei, completely focused on Jin Yue, hadn’t noticed her arrival.
“What are you doing here?”
Qi Bei hadn’t forgotten that the woman standing before him had something to do with everything that had happened. He didn’t have a pleasant expression.
“I came to see Yueyue.”
To her, Jin Yue’s poor health was a good thing. It would be best if she never woke up.
Although Qi Bei’s words at the bar had hurt her, she quickly recovered. After all, she had so many things to fall back on, so how could she just give up?
Su Chenxi believed that the root cause of everything was Jin Yue. If Jin Yue was out of the picture, everything would be fine…
And then there was that thing she still hadn’t told him. That was her trump card.
However, now wasn’t the time to speak.
Su Chenxi’s eyes flickered slightly.
“You should leave. Yueyue doesn’t need you.”
Qi Bei had no time or mood to deal with anyone else while Jin Yue remained unconscious.
“Alright, I’ll leave then. Qi Bei don’t worry too much. Yueyue will probably wake up tomorrow.”
Yeah, right!
Su Chenxi cast one last lingering glance at Qi Bei before leaving gracefully.
