Chapter 11: Keeping Away from Him

The next day, the sun shone brightly into the hospital room, and the woman lying in bed slowly opened her eyes.

After a while, Jin Yue finally reacted and realized that she was in a hospital room.

Thinking about the pain she had experienced the day before; Jin Yue couldn’t help but shudder.

She had always been afraid of pain since she was a child, and she never expected that she would be in a body that was just as sensitive to it.

“What do you mean by what you said yesterday, 003?” Jin Yue asked, her voice trembling with anger.

“I was trying to say that you can see how I’ve been interacting with the male lead all this time, so don’t say that I’m the one who’s leading him on. I was just trying to distance myself from him, not to encourage him. But you, the system, are being too unreasonable! You can’t blame me for something that’s out of my control. Why are you punishing me for something that I didn’t do?”

Jin Yue’s anger grew with each passing moment.

She was really unlucky. First, she was suddenly transported into a novel as the villainess; then, she had an unexpected romance with the male lead; and now, the plot had collapsed, and she was being blamed for it!

At first, Jin Yue thought that she could just ignore the situation and let it pass. After all, 003 hadn’t forced her to participate in the plot or to get involved with the male lead.

She was a rich and beautiful woman who could do as she pleased. As long as she didn’t get involved with the male lead, she would be fine.

But she hadn’t expected that the male leads and her interactions had already been ruined, and that 003 would blame her for it.

“Why don’t you just send me back to my original world? I didn’t want to appear in this novel in the first place. And even if I did, our first meeting was supposed to be at the banquet, not before. So, of course, I thought he was just a normal guy, not the male lead!”

“Please, Jin Yue, control yourself. Don’t curse,” 003 said, its voice cold and detached.

“The initial interactions between the male and female leads have already collapsed. If you hadn’t appeared, the plot wouldn’t have been ruined in the first place,” 003 explained.

“So, why don’t you just send me back to my original world? I don’t want to be here. And even if I was meant to be here, I wouldn’t have expected to meet the male lead a day early. So, of course, I thought he was just a normal guy, not the male lead!”

“You have to stay away from the male lead! Remember, you didn’t do your best before. If you really don’t want to, he can’t hurt you,” 003 said.

Jin Yue glared at 003.

“If I do stay away from him, you’ll just find another way to punish me, won’t you? So, I’d rather take my chances and suffer the pain than ruin your precious mission!”

A tall figure suddenly appeared in the room, and the sound of Qi Bei’s gentle voice echoed through the space.

“What mission? Who are you talking to?” Qi Bei asked, his expression concerned.

Jin Yue looked up to meet his gaze, her anger still simmering.

In front of her was the man who had caused her downfall. The same face that had led to her misfortune.

Indeed, the only one she had been entangled with was her.

Jin Yue’s expression turned cold, and she spoke in a flat tone.

“It’s nothing. I want to be discharged from the hospital.”

Qi Bei assumed that Jin Yue’s expression was due to her still recovering from her earlier collapse, so he reached out to touch her head.

“You need to observe your symptoms and stay in the hospital for a few more days,” Qi Bei said, trying to reassure her.

Jin Yue pushed him away, and she sat up, swinging her legs over the side of the bed.

“My body is fine. I want to go home,” Jin Yue said, her tone firm.

Qi Bei tried to reason with her, but Jin Yue was firm in her decision, and she refused to back down.

“You’re my…I don’t know what you are,” Jin Yue said, her tone laced with sarcasm. “So, why should I listen to you? If you’re trying to tell me that you’re my boyfriend, then don’t. You’re not my boyfriend, so you have no right to order me around!”

Qi Bei’s eyes widened in surprise, and his face turned red with anger.

“You’re talking nonsense!” Qi Bei accused, trying to grab Jin Yue’s arm.

But Jin Yue dodged him, and she shot back at him with a scathing remark.

“You’re a member of the Qizi family, aren’t you? And you’re trying to keep a woman who doesn’t love you by your side? Don’t you feel ashamed of yourself?”

(Note: “003” refers to an AI or system that Jin Yue interacts with, and “Qi Bei” is the male lead.)

“I only fell for your face, but now I’m getting tired of it. You’re so dominant, no one will like your personality. There are so many men in the world, why are you clinging to me like a parasite? I’m not a good girl; I was just doing what you wanted. You’ve probably investigated me, so you know that I’ve been pretending to be someone I’m not. I’m only pretending to be this version of myself now.”

Jin Yue spoke rapidly, her mouth curved into a cruel smile as she delivered the hurtful words.

Qi Bei’s face turned dark: “Are you speaking the truth? Why did you change suddenly yesterday?”

“Oh, it’s true. I just got tired of pretending. Being with you has made it impossible for me to go out and flirt with other men.”

“You should know my nature, after all, I’ve also been with you as one of my playthings. I didn’t know anything about you before, and yet I fell in love with you. So, why couldn’t you be the exception?”

“I didn’t think you would get so serious, you’re the son of the Qizi family, after all. I thought you were just playing around, but it looks like you’re more obsessed than that. I guess I’m still charming, even for a royal like you.”

“That’s enough! Leave!” Qi Bei shouted, his face red with anger.

Fine, Jin Yue quickly got dressed and left the hospital room.

After closing the door, she looked down at her hand, which was sweating profusely. She felt a sense of relief wash over her, and she was almost relieved that the male lead wouldn’t bother her again.

The hospital room was quiet, with Qi Bei still standing in the same position, his face pale.

Ha! So, this is her true intention? She was just pretending to be someone she’s not.

Qi Bei’s anger grew, and he finally couldn’t help but throw the objects on the nearby dresser onto the floor, making a loud crash.

That day, Jin Yue and Qi Bei didn’t contact each other again.

It was only natural, given the hurtful words Jin Yue had spoken. The male lead would probably be seeking revenge.

Just thinking about it, Jin Yue’s father suddenly appeared, looking a bit off.

“Dad, is something wrong? You look a bit upset,” Jin Yue asked, concern etched on her face.

Jin Father looked at his daughter, his expression complex. “Ah, Jin Yue, tell me the truth, what happened between you and Qi Bei?”

What is Dad asking about this now? Is it because Qi Bei caused trouble for the Jin family?

No way, Qi Bei wouldn’t be so petty. If he wanted to cause trouble, he would just come straight out and do it.

“I’m with Dad, Qi Bei and I broke up. Is it because he’s seeking revenge on us?”
