Chapter 27: The Meeting

It was unclear how Qi Bei had convinced Qi Tian, but they agreed to meet at the Jingjue Bar.

Yes, it was still the private room on the third floor.

Gold Moon dragged Qi Bei to the venue early. She thought, since she was the one who had arranged the meeting, she couldn’t possibly be late, right?

As for how to talk to Qi Tian, to be honest, she had no idea yet.

She’d have to play it by ear.

At least, she had to figure out why Qi Tian had been blocking her. They weren’t even in the same class, and they had no real contact. She hadn’t even told him about her situation with Su Chenxi. Someone must have informed him, but she still didn’t know what exactly he had heard.

So, the priority now was to find out what Qi Tian knew before she could handle the situation.

“What are you thinking so hard about?” Qi Bei asked, noticing her intense concentration.

Gold Moon’s eyes darted around, and he couldn’t help but be drawn to the way her long lashes fluttered. It was like she was digging into his heart. He leaned in closer, thinking about pulling her onto his lap.

He didn’t know what was going on with him recently, but every time he saw her, he just wanted to hold her.

Gold Moon’s body was soft, and she always carried a sweet fragrance. Holding her was so comfortable that he couldn’t get enough of it.

Besides, he couldn’t stand seeing her focus on anyone else.

Looking at her, he realized that he was becoming more and more obsessed with her. No wonder she always said he was perverted, he thought, unable to stop himself from smiling.

Gold Moon, knowing his quirks, quickly sat down at a distance from him as soon as they entered the room. But, of course, Qi Bei still followed her.

“Don’t, it’ll be awkward when people come in,” she said, her face serious as she scolded him.

“So, what if I hold you? We’re not kissing here, what’s the big deal?” Qi Bei replied, a teasing smile on his face.

She looked so cute when her face was serious.

“Stop talking nonsense, this is a public place, who would want to kiss you!”

Thinking about that incident from the other night made Gold Moon’s face turn red. What a scheming man! Hmph!

“Alright, we’ll kiss when we get home,” Qi Bei said with a mischievous look on his face, raising his eyebrows and winking at her.

His playful expression only made him seem smugger.

“You’re dreaming!” Gold Moon huffed, calling him an indecent pervert.

The annoying mechanical voice of 003 suddenly sounded in her mind.

Gold Moon froze. She suddenly remembered her initial goal, which was to get on Qi Bei’s nerves and make him dislike her. But every time he teased her; she ended up being defenseless and hiding from him because of it.

If this continued, she would never manage to make him dislike her. She had to stick to her plan and not forget it.

Gold Moon replied to 003 in her mind.

She decided that when she got home tonight, she would study hard and find a way to drive Qi Bei crazy—she’d be shameless and annoy him to the point that he couldn’t stand her anymore!

She needed to take care of the matter in front of her first.

There was a sudden knock on the door. Gold Moon guessed it was Qi Tian and said, “Come in.”

As soon as the door opened, Qi Tian swaggered in with his usual carefree and rebellious attitude. But when he saw the woman sitting next to Qi Bei, his expression changed immediately: “What are you doing here? Damn, you lied to me yesterday, and now you’ve ended up in my hands. Let me show you how I’ll deal with you!”

He approached Gold Moon, intending to grab her.

Before his hand could reach her, a large hand shot out and firmly grasped his wrist mid-air.

The grip was so strong that Qi Tian winced in pain. He looked at the hand’s owner, Qi Bei, and shouted, “Bro! What are you doing? That hurts! Let go, let go!”

Qi Bei stood up, tightening his grip on Qi Tian’s wrist. Qi Tian was thrown onto the sofa on the other side. Qi Bei looked down at him with a cold expression and said, “Oh? I’d like to hear how you’re going to deal with her.”

“Bro, why are you protecting her? Do you know what she’s done?” Qi Tian asked angrily.

He wondered why his older brother suddenly called him out, and then he realized it was for this woman.

Since childhood, he had admired his older brother, but he also knew that his brother looked down on him. In his brother’s eyes, he was probably just an annoying troublemaker.

When his brother suddenly called him out, he was curious but also happy, thinking maybe his brother wanted to strengthen their brotherly bond. But now, it seemed like he was here because of a woman! And not just any woman, but one with questionable character!

He couldn’t understand how this woman had gotten involved with his older brother. He was certain his brother had been deceived by her. He vowed to expose her true nature.

“I’d like to know what I’ve done too. We don’t even know each other, so why did you suddenly block me? I’m a woman, and you’re a man, what’s your deal coming after me like this?” Gold Moon poked her head from behind Qi Bei, asking curiously.

“You!” Qi Tian stood up and pointed at Gold Moon angrily.

He had to stand to talk because he didn’t want to lose face by sitting on the sofa while they were standing.

Gold Moon rolled her eyes at him.

Qi Tian, with a sneer, said, “Do you not know what you’ve done? You’re a woman, and so is Su Chenxi, why do you think it’s fine to bully someone else?”

Then, turning to Qi Bei, he added, “Bro, you have to believe me. This woman isn’t as innocent as she looks. Don’t let her fool you. She’s been arrogant at school, and her reputation isn’t great. If I hadn’t found out about what she did to Su Chenxi, she would probably still be acting like this!”

“I even have photos. She used to frequent bars and dressed provocatively!”

It seemed that Su Chenxi was involved, but the specifics were still unclear.

Gold Moon interjected, “How have I bullied Su Chenxi? I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

Qi Tian retorted, “Don’t act innocent. Su Chenxi told me everything. You know her, right? She used to hang out with her brother when they were kids and came to see you.”

The sight of Gold Moon pretending to be innocent only irritated Qi Tian even more. If it weren’t for his luck in finding out, Su Chenxi might have suffered even longer without anyone realizing it.

With her pure appearance, Gold Moon probably wouldn’t have even noticed if someone was bullying her.

“Well, if you’re so sure, why don’t we ask Su Chenxi herself? Then we’ll know for sure,” Qi Bei interrupted their conversation calmly. He pulled Gold Moon back onto the sofa and made a quick phone call, simply saying, “Let her in,” before hanging up.

Seeing this, Qi Tian asked, “Bro, is Su Chenxi coming here too?”

Gold Moon looked at Qi Bei in confusion. She had only asked him to invite Qi Tian, but why was Su Chenxi coming as well?
