Chapter 31: The Rose Delivery

Jin Yue called Su Chenxi, but Su Chenxi didn’t answer.

Thinking that she probably didn’t want to deal with Jin Yue right now, Jin Yue sent her a text message instead.

A few minutes after sending the message, Jin Yue’s phone rang. It was Su Chenxi calling.

Jin Yue answered the phone, and Su Chenxi’s gentle voice came through the speaker. “Moon Moon, what did your text message mean?”

“Su Chenxi, I don’t think you want Qi Bei to know that you sent a private investigator to follow him. So, before I tell him, you’d better handle this yourself.”

“Moon Moon, is it true that a private investigator is following Brother Bei? Are you being deceived? I’ve never hired anyone!”

“We both know the truth. Anyway, I’ve already told you, so you can think about it yourself,” Jin Yue said and then hung up without caring about what Su Chenxi might think.

After that one phone call, as long as Su Chenxi wasn’t stupid, she would stop the private investigator immediately.

On the other end, Su Chenxi’s face darkened, but she didn’t dare to take a chance that Jin Yue wouldn’t tell Qi Bei. So, she quickly made a call to the private investigator.

After ending the call with the private investigator, Su Chenxi paced back and forth in her room, thinking about the current situation.

Jin Yue was really getting closer and closer to Brother Bei. Although Su Chenxi knew that someone like Jin Yue, with her background, could never marry into the Qi family, she still felt uneasy. She couldn’t just sit back and wait. It was time for her to act.

So, Su Chenxi left her room and went to find her father.

The next day, after finishing her classes, Jin Yue returned to the Waterfront Forest Villa. Qi Bei was sitting in the living room, watching TV. Suddenly, the doorbell rang.

Since Qi Bei had a key, he would never need to ring the doorbell, and it wasn’t the time for the housekeeper to arrive either. Who could it be?

Jin Yue, feeling cautious, quietly walked toward the door. Through the video system, she saw a strange man outside. He looked friendly enough, but in today’s world, appearances weren’t always trustworthy.

Not daring to open the door easily, she pressed the intercom button beside the video system and asked, “Who is it?”

“Hello, is this Miss Jin? I’m from a florist, and there’s a bouquet here for you to sign for.”

“You’ve got the wrong person. I didn’t order any flowers.”

“Really? The customer gave this address. Are you Miss Jin Yue?”

Jin Yue, after seeing the situation, opened the outer gate through the smart intercom system, allowing the delivery man to bring the flowers to the door.

A moment later, Jin Yue opened the door, looked at the delivery man who had already left, and saw a large bouquet of roses at her feet. She furrowed her brows and took out the card from the bouquet. The message read:

“Do you like them? Moon Moon.”

This was definitely from Qi Bei.

Jin Yue brought the roses into the house, placed them on the coffee table, and then changed her clothes, ready to drive out.

Speaking of which, she had to mention that time when Qi Bei insisted on finding her a driver. Even though Qi Bei didn’t listen to her, she really hated being followed. So, they were at an impasse, but in the end, Qi Bei gave in.

Driving her own car towards the Qi Group building, Jin Yue thought to herself that it really was better to drive herself.

When Jin Yue arrived at the Qi Group building, she sat in her car and touched up her lipstick. After all, she was about to cause some trouble, and she needed to look the part.

She entered the building and was walking slowly toward the side elevators when suddenly the front desk stopped her.

“Excuse me, miss, may I ask who you’re here to see? You can’t just enter the company freely.”

“Oh, I’m here to see Qi Bei. Am I not allowed to enter?”

When the receptionist heard “Qi Bei” mentioned, she paused for a moment before responding, “Do you have an appointment?”

“Do I need an appointment to see him? If you don’t let me in, I’ll have Qi Bei fire you.”

It seemed like another girl with delusions of grandeur. Jin Yue didn’t know how many times this had happened this month.

The receptionist, Xiao Mei, politely refused Jin Yue’s request and was about to call security to have her escorted out.

Jin Yue pretended to be angry and, ignoring the receptionist’s objections, headed straight for the elevator, ready to storm through.

Seeing this, Xiao Mei quickly stepped forward and blocked Jin Yue’s path, saying, “Sorry, without an appointment, you really can’t enter.”

Jin Yue didn’t care, though. She bypassed Xiao Mei and continued toward the elevator.

At this point, Xiao Mei had no choice but to call security to have them come to the lobby, and she continued trying to stop Jin Yue.

With people coming and going in the lobby, the two women’s argument attracted quite a bit of attention.

Meanwhile, another receptionist, Xiao An, had just come out of the restroom and saw the scene. She was about to step forward to help when she saw Jin Yue’s face. Her expression immediately changed.

Oh no! Why is she here right now?

Xiao An quickly ran over, stopped Xiao Mei’s actions, and bowed apologetically to Jin Yue, saying, “I’m sorry, Miss Jin, Xiao Mei is new here and didn’t know who you were. I hope you won’t mind. You’re here to see Mr. Qi, right? He’s already given instructions that you can enter at any time.”

She then proceeded to lead Jin Yue.

The bystanders were dumbfounded. What kind of relationship does this woman have with Mr. Qi, to be allowed to enter just like that?

Xiao Mei was even more confused. Just as she was about to ask Xiao An what was going on, Xiao An shot her a glare, signaling her to stay quiet.

Jin Yue, however, didn’t rush to go in. She didn’t expect that Qi Bei had already instructed the reception desk, and her luck had it that she ran into someone who knew about it.

Just then, two tall and burly security guards walked in through the front door. Seeing the commotion, they quickly assessed the situation and realized the problem person was probably among the crowd.

They hurried over and separated the people, quickly spotting Jin Yue standing in front of the two receptionists. They rushed over and stood behind her in a “catching” position, asking Xiao Mei, “Is it her?”

Xiao An’s face changed. She didn’t expect Xiao Mei to have called security to grab Jin Yue. What if Miss Jin got angry?

She hurriedly scolded the security guards, “What are you doing? Don’t you see that this is Miss Jin, Mr. Qi’s guest? He specifically asked us to treat her well!”

Xiao An then turned to apologize to Jin Yue, saying, “I’m sorry, Miss Jin. We didn’t know. I hope you can forgive us.”

Jin Yue lifted her chin and looked at them with disdain. “Why should I forgive you? This woman not only stopped me from seeing Qi Bei but even sent someone to try and throw me out. Is this how you treat me? I need to talk to Qi Bei and see how his company treats his girlfriend!”

She emphasized “girlfriend” with a strong tone, making sure everyone understood.

“Or you can kneel and beg me now, and I might consider not having Qi Bei fire you!” Jin Yue pointed at Xiao Mei, speaking arrogantly.

Xiao Mei’s face stiffened, but she forced a smile and said, “Miss Jin, could you please consider choosing another way? After all, it doesn’t look good to kneel in front of so many people. Don’t you think?”

Jin Yue scoffed, “It doesn’t look bad to you, but it’s not me who’s kneeling. You can kneel or not, I’m going to find Qi Bei now.”

The onlookers whispered among themselves. Although they thought Jin Yue was being a bit arrogant, she was Mr. Qi’s girlfriend, so who would dare to offend her just because of a receptionist?
