The House was Raided in Advance and I moved the Treasury to Escape the Last Days Chapter 32

Chapter 32: Zhizhi’s Slow Upgrade, Jingzhe Awakens

Jinglan hesitated as she stood beside her, lowering her eyes in thought for a moment before speaking.
“Zhizhi-jie, maybe we didn’t stay in the rain long enough?”

Zhizhi immediately understood what Jinglan meant.
“You want to go back out and keep standing in the rain?”

Jingzhe agreed, “Yes, we want to give it another try.”

“Go ahead if you want, but you might catch a fever.”

Before she even finished speaking, the two of them had already dashed out of the house, foolishly standing in the downpour.

Xie Zhizhi couldn’t help but laugh in exasperation. This setting was absolutely ridiculous—if she wanted to level up, did that mean she had to do the same?

In a way, this was just another form of experiencing the cruelty of natural disasters.

The heavy rain poured relentlessly, cold raindrops slashing against the skin like sharp blades, pelting down in diagonal sheets. The mottled shadows of leaves sank into the muddy ground, and lightning crackled across the dark night sky.

Standing in the rain, Xie Zhizhi was completely drenched but didn’t feel uncomfortable. Instead, it was as if her body had merged with the rain, even carrying a hint of warmth.

She stared at the water ball forming in her palm—it was much larger than before. This proved that the method really worked for leveling up!

Meanwhile, Jinglan and Jingzhe lasted only two hours before their bodies became sluggish and exhausted. Their divine powers hadn’t awakened, but they were completely drained.

“Go back inside, take a bath, and get some rest. Try again tomorrow,” Zhizhi instructed. She poured a jug of spiritual spring water and handed it to them. “Drink plenty of warm water after bathing.”

“Okay.” The two glanced reluctantly at the seemingly mystical rain, a bit disappointed. If awakening divine powers was just a matter of enduring natural disasters, what kind of chaos would this world fall into?

It wasn’t enough for only Miss Zhizhi to have divine powers. If they ever encountered evildoers, they would just be burdens to her—completely useless.

But for now, their bodies were too weak, and they had no choice but to retreat and plan for another time.

By dawn, the storm had raged on through the night. In the distance, the mountains looked as if they had been washed clean, their greenery appearing fresher and more vibrant than ever.

Xie Zhizhi had spent the entire night sitting in the rain on a chair. Aside from being soaked, she didn’t feel any discomfort. It was as if she had truly become one with the rain—not feeling cold, not feeling fatigued—just full of energy!

In a single night, the water ball she could summon had grown to the size of a basketball!

When the rain finally stopped, she returned inside, satisfied, to take a bath and get some sleep.

It was only five in the morning.

Just three hours later, she was awakened by an urgent voice from the next room.

“Wake up! Jingzhe, wake up!”

She rushed over at once.

It turned out that Jingzhe had suddenly developed a high fever.

Jinglan, who had been sleeping beside her, was the first to notice her dangerously hot body. She suddenly remembered that Jingzhe had a wound on her arm. But upon checking, she found that the wound had already scabbed over and the skin had peeled off.

Since when did medicine work this fast?

That meant the fever wasn’t from the wound—it was just from standing in the rain.

“Miss, I’ll go to town to get some medicine for Jingzhe. You stay with her,” Jinglan said as she swiftly got dressed, ready to head out.

Zhizhi stopped her. “Wait a bit longer. The streets are probably flooded with people cleaning up after the rain.”

First, she took Jingzhe’s temperature.

Jinglan paused and turned back, just in time to see Miss Zhizhi take out a small “7”-shaped object and press it against Jingzhe’s forehead. The small device lit up, displaying three numbers.

398?

What was that?

Zhizhi looked at the thermometer: 39.8°C—nearly 40°C. This was dangerous.

Just as she was about to grab some fever medicine, she noticed something strange on Jingzhe’s palm.

She lifted Jingzhe’s hand for a closer look. The lines on her palm and the faintly visible blood vessels beneath her skin looked just like Zhizhi’s had the previous night.

Jingzhe was awakening her divine power!

Zhizhi’s eyes lit up. There was no time to lose—she grabbed a large basin of spiritual spring water and poured it over Jingzhe’s body. The mystical water instantly seeped into her skin, absorbing into her body.

Zhizhi checked the thermometer again. Sure enough, her temperature was starting to drop—the spiritual spring water was working!

Jinglan stood frozen in shock. Miss Zhizhi was amazing. Where did she even get that water?

The next moment, Jingzhe stirred, her eyes half-opening in a daze. Her fingers twitched as her body fluctuated between hot and cold.

Miss Zhizhi’s serious voice cut through the air.

“Jingzhe, focus your mind and force the cold energy out from your palms—just like I did last night!”

“If you don’t, your body’s heat and your new water-based powers will clash, and you’ll die!”

Zhizhi found it strange—why hadn’t she experienced a fever when awakening? For her, it had been as simple as drinking water.

Jinglan, worried sick, urged from the side, “Do as Miss Zhizhi says, quickly!”

Jingzhe didn’t need any more convincing. In her mind, she could already see herself dying, never being able to see Jinglan or Miss Zhizhi again. Without hesitation, she lifted her right hand. She had no idea how to control it, so she just wildly flung her hand around, chanting in her head over and over:

“Water ball, roll out! Water ball, roll out! Water ball, roll out!”

Less than thirty seconds later, Zhizhi saw a ball of water shoot from Jingzhe’s hand, smashing into the wooden table across the room—splintering it into pieces!

Success!
