The House was Raided in Advance and I moved the Treasury to Escape the Last Days Chapter 35

Chapter 35: Confronting the Emperor – Crushing the Water Divine Power

Under the gloomy sky, three women in simple robes stood atop the eaves, their clothes billowing in the wind. Their restrained auras exuded danger, their faces devoid of unnecessary expression.

They were clearly no ordinary people.

Vice General Yang barked coldly, “Who are you?”

But the soldiers around him immediately stood up and grabbed his leg as he sat on his horse, pleading earnestly, “Sir! They’re immortals! Don’t shout! Don’t shout! Let’s talk this through properly.”

Vice General Yang hesitated and looked back at the soldier. The soldier, fearing that the three women would take offense, whispered, “Sir, they can summon those magical water spheres that instantly kill people! And they have some extremely powerful weapons! They can shoot people in the head from a distance!”

Vice General Yang’s eyelid twitched. He gripped the reins tightly. Knowing when to bend and when to stand firm, he adjusted his attitude and looked at the three women with newfound respect. “Greetings, esteemed ones! I am Vice General of the Great Xing Dynasty. May I ask why you have come?”

Water spheres?

Again with the water spheres?

Yang Hao thought to himself. The Third Prince had been blessed by the gods, but what about these others?

Above him, Xie Zhizhi curled her lips into a mocking smile, almost laughing at the Vice General’s sudden change in demeanor. This was the very man who had abandoned Xie Zongyi to secure a court position just to avoid going to war.

And now, he was looking at her with reverence.

She wondered if he had managed to squeeze some benefits from that dog of an emperor.

“I’m just sitting here watching. Why do you care?” she said lazily.

Vice General Yang, despite feeling insulted, dared not protest. His heart pounded with anxiety. He could only order the soldiers to clear the area and send someone to report back to the rear.

Xie Zhizhi pulled Jing Zhe and Jing Lan to sit with her on the eaves. She kicked her legs playfully, her gaze lifting just enough to look into the distance at the Third Prince—no, he was now the emperor. Her smile grew more cunning, bright with mischief.

The original owner of this body had given him plenty of valuable gifts. It was time to reclaim them—with interest.

Vice General Yang dared not look up again. His hands shook as he gripped the reins. Just how powerful was someone who could kill in an instant?

Now, it all depended on whether the emperor had the ability to control them.

At the rear of the procession, those in the grand, gold-engraved sedan chair had no idea what was happening up front. The Third Prince, now emperor, was growing impatient. He scowled and shouted angrily, “What’s going on up there?”

A military officer nearby cautiously replied, “Your Majesty, I will go check immediately.”

Before he could take two steps, a soldier rushed over at full speed.

“Your Majesty! Reporting to Your Majesty!”

The emperor, now furious, roared, “An interruption during my grand parade?! Speak! What’s the matter?”

The soldier repeated what he had told Vice General Yang.

The emperor’s pupils contracted, his eyes blazing with both shock and fury. More people had gained divine power?!

A dark thought crept into his heart—he didn’t care if someone else died. But someone daring to steal his glory?!

That woman must die.

This was a perfect opportunity to establish his authority before the people.

If he couldn’t deal with her now, it would be a massive threat to his reign.

With a dramatic flick of his imperial robe, he stepped out of his sedan chair. His gaze pierced through the distance and locked onto the three figures on the rooftop. He ordered, “Men! They dare to disrupt my parade—prepare to release the arrows!”

And if arrows didn’t work, he would use the siege cannons!

His expression brimmed with self-importance, his steps brimming with confidence as he approached the front of the procession.

The soldiers hadn’t expected the emperor to take a hardline approach. Their confidence wavered—both sides had divine powers, but the opposing side had superior weapons as well!

Meanwhile, Xie Zhizhi was surprised that the dog emperor actually wanted to challenge her one-on-one.

Her eyes lit up with excitement.

The emperor, standing tall, exuded an air of authority. With his hands clasped behind his back, he spoke coldly, “Who are you? How dare you challenge my authority! Anyone who disrespects me shall be executed!”

The entire procession tensed. More than 500 soldiers stood ready with drawn bows. Even the archers on the distant city walls had received orders and aimed at the three figures on the rooftop, ready to fire at a moment’s notice.

Civilians had already fled the conflict zone.

“Oh? So, do you want to release arrows or set fire to the place?” Xie Zhizhi remained seated, her indifferent gaze looking down at the emperor, her lips curved in a lazy smirk. In this moment, his aura shrank significantly.

He had a somewhat proper face, but he wasn’t particularly handsome. He was also a bit short—about 173 cm.

The original owner of this body had been infatuated with him, largely because he had once saved her from bullies as a child. That foolish devotion had lasted for years.

But now, on his first day as emperor, everyone was supposed to respect and fear him. Yet this woman was treating him like a joke, making him look like a petty clown.

“Impudent!” The emperor’s rage boiled over. His usually composed face twisted with violent fury. For the first time, he unleashed his newly acquired power in front of a crowd!

Xie Zhizhi watched as the water sphere gradually formed in his hand, about the size of an apple—just like when she first obtained the ability.

Her own strength was far greater.

The Third Prince had stumbled into this power without understanding it. He probably didn’t even know it could be upgraded. This wasn’t the modern world where people had read plenty of fantasy novels.

She watched as the emperor hurled the water sphere toward her with deadly intent.

A bold idea struck her. She gathered her immense strength into her hand, controlling it as if it were divine water power.

The next moment—success!

A translucent white glow enveloped her palm, radiating an overwhelming aura of power.

She fixed her gaze on the incoming water sphere. Then, effortlessly, she caught it—barehanded!

Before it could unleash its force, she clenched her fist tightly.

The white glow around her palm brightened slightly.

Her absurd theory was confirmed.

The water sphere shattered in an instant, dispersing like mist.

Incredible! Her superhuman strength could be used this way too!

Xie Zhizhi laughed in delight. Jing Zhe and Jing Lan’s eyes sparkled with admiration. This was amazing!

But the emperor’s confident smile froze. His feet involuntarily took a step back. Waves of panic surged through his heart. He trembled as he stammered, “You—you—you—”

The soldiers and guards who had witnessed this scene were petrified. Some had already wet themselves. Some let their arrows slip from their fingers, their legs turning to jelly.

If both sides had fought using the water spheres, it might have been less terrifying.

But she had just crushed his attack with her bare hand?!

Was she even human?!

Xie Zhizhi looked at his horrified face with disdain. “What? Don’t piss yourself in front of your ministers. That would be embarrassing.”

The emperor’s face turned dark, his body trembling.

Xie Zhizhi yawned, stretched, and pulled Jing Zhe and Jing Lan along. “Let’s go. The meat pie shop in the west district just opened.”

Hmph, if he wanted her dead, it wouldn’t be so simple!

Let him stew in fear, unable to sleep at night!

Maybe she’d even bring a hailstorm down on his precious palace when he was too broke to repair it.

The emperor couldn’t utter a single word of protest. He didn’t even dare to look up.

His so-called divine power had been crushed like mere dough in her hands.

He could only watch as the three figures used light footwork to vanish into the distance, his face burning with humiliation.

No! She had to die!

If possible, he wanted to kill everyone who had witnessed his disgrace today.
