The Laid-Back Life of a Lucky Wife in the 1950s
The Laid-Back Life of a Lucky Wife in the 1950s Chapter 15: Rebirth

“What do you mean by that?”

Qin Tianru was momentarily stunned but quickly regained her composure as she countered his question.

She understood that in this situation, any attempt to fabricate excuses or argue would be futile.

If this world was indeed set in the 1950s, then her very existence was the biggest anomaly.

Just by looking at her outfit and the design of the medical kit she was carrying, anyone with eyes could tell there was something off about her.

Really, what kind of woman would leave home without any luggage, carrying only a medical kit, and wearing slippers and shorts?

Obviously, no one could be more peculiar than her. Even she herself would find such behavior suspicious.

It wasn’t that she hadn’t been cautious—her sudden time travel had caught her completely off guard. Her personal storage space didn’t contain any items from other eras that she could use for disguise. Moreover, she had no idea which era this timeline belonged to or what the circumstances were. How could she have prepared or concealed herself?

The only thing she could do was go with the flow and adapt as things unfolded.

Qi Han slightly curved his lips, his gaze meaningful. “It’s the 1950s now. Do you think your outfit is appropriate?”

Though Qin Tianru wasn’t someone obsessed with social interactions, she wasn’t foolish either. She keenly picked up on the key point in his words.

“Oh? How do you know whether my outfit is appropriate or not? What standard are you using as a reference? Where I come from, this is just how people dress. Is that not allowed?”

Qin Tianru knew she was being a bit unreasonable at this point, but she also wanted to understand just how much this man knew. Was her time travel related to him?

Since he had already noticed her anomaly, there was no point in continuing to beat around the bush. Rather than both of them guessing and speculating, it’d be better to have an open and honest conversation.

Besides, this man might have a close connection to her. If they kept doubting each other, it would only hinder their ability to coexist.

With this in mind, Qin Tianru took the initiative to broach the subject.

“Let’s have a proper talk. First, I can tell you with absolute certainty that I mean you no harm. In fact, my coming here is related to you. So, do you know why I ended up here?”

Qi Han was taken aback, clearly not expecting her to say such a thing. Her words had caught him off guard.

She came here because of him?

Hadn’t he been the one reborn because of her?

That’s right—he had been reborn!

In his previous life, he had lived to the age of 35. Having endured many hardships in his youth, his body was left with severe ailments, and he ultimately succumbed to illness.

The moment before he opened his eyes, he had been lying in a hospital room, his body ravaged by multiple illnesses, beyond the help of medicine.

Just before losing consciousness, he had suffered another violent attack. This time, the pain came so fiercely that before the doctors could intervene, he had already lost consciousness due to labored breathing.

He knew—he had died.

He was well aware of his own body’s condition. There was no saving him—his bodily functions had already deteriorated. The only reason he had held on for so long was because of the hospital equipment keeping him alive.

What he hadn’t expected, however, was that after briefly plunging into the darkness of death, he suddenly regained awareness. Though his consciousness was hazy, he undeniably had autonomy again.

But the experience was so surreal and bizarre that it left him momentarily confused, unable to distinguish between dream and reality.
