The Laid-Back Life of a Lucky Wife in the 1950s
The Laid-Back Life of a Lucky Wife in the 1950s Chapter 26: Serenity

Qin Tianru believed that the loss of connection with the shared space was only temporary. Once they identified the root cause, the predicament would naturally resolve itself.

For now, she could only console herself this way—otherwise, she feared she might die of frustration.

One could only move toward a better future by envisioning it positively.

Right now, she just hoped her family wouldn’t worry too much. She would take good care of herself.

“…” Qi Han stood frozen, utterly stunned.

After hearing about the Qin family’s affairs, he was deeply shocked.

Indeed, the world was full of wonders, and the most unexpected things could happen.

Yet, strangely, after listening to her story, his previously uneasy heart settled into calm.

He never imagined her family’s circumstances would be so mysteriously complex. Such fortune was probably not something ordinary people could possess.

Now he somewhat understood what she meant by emphasizing “ordinary people.”

Perhaps it was precisely because of their family’s extraordinary luck that each of them had experiences beyond the norm.

It seemed there really might be a destined connection between him and her.

At this moment, he was almost inclined to believe it.

“You don’t need to worry too much. I’m sure you’ll reconnect. I believe everything happens for a reason. Maybe something is temporarily blocking the connection, but it might not be long before it returns to normal.”

By now, Qin Tianru had adjusted her mindset. Her mood was calm and at ease.

She wasn’t the type to obsess over things she couldn’t figure out. Since fate had its own plans, she’d adopt a laid-back, go-with-the-flow attitude.

“Mm, I’m fine. At least the current situation isn’t the worst it could be.”

Seeing her so composed, Qi Han felt relieved.

“Then you should rest soon. Tomorrow will be exhausting.”

Qin Tianru smiled faintly. With a flick of her hands—as if performing a magic trick—a thin blanket suddenly appeared on the ground. These were daily necessities she kept stored in her personal storage space.

As for a mattress, a camping tent, or the like? Don’t even think about it—she had none!

As a self-proclaimed couch potato, she disliked traveling outdoors. She preferred staying in her own little courtyard, living a leisurely life.

So, her storage space simply didn’t contain those kinds of items.

“I’ll go gather some dry grass.”

With that, Qi Han walked out of the cave. Though his right foot still couldn’t bear full weight, he could at least walk slowly now.

Using a Swiss army knife, Qi Han cut a large bundle of withered grass and evenly spread it over a relatively flat area inside the cave.

“Lay the blanket over the grass—it’ll be softer. Then use this coat as a cover.”

Earlier, he’d noticed that his “little wife” had delicate skin. Even with a layer of dry grass beneath her, she might still get scratched.

Since she could produce a blanket, it could serve as a makeshift mattress. And the oversized coat she’d brought out would be more than enough to keep her warm as a cover.

“You’re so thoughtful.”

Qin Tianru grinned, her eyes curving with delight. She had just been fretting over how uncomfortable the ground seemed, wondering how to make sleeping more bearable.

Unexpectedly, her partner was quite considerate and attentive. With this setup, it would undoubtedly be much cozier.

Pleased, Qin Tianru spread out the blanket and held up the winter coat, sizing it up as a makeshift quilt. Suddenly, she turned her head and noticed Qi Han sitting stiffly on the other side of the fire, keeping a deliberate distance from her.

“Why are you sitting so far away? Come closer. We’ll stay warmer if we sit together.”
