Chapter 2: To the capital, my home

When they arrived at the foot of the hill, Lin Ran successfully found Lin Mu’s car, took the backpack bag handed over by the driver and held it in his arms, before he followed Song Zhi Xu into his car.

The driver was driving in front while Lin Ran and Song Zhi Xu sat side by side in the back seat. Lin Ran looked around the car and then quietly looked at the man beside him, who had closed his eyes as if he was asleep since he got into the car.

Unlike his big brother who was gentle and modest, although this man was also good-looking, he had no expression on his face. He was cold in manner which made him look a bit difficult to get along with.But Gege said that he was a good person.

Song Zhi Xu suddenly opened his eyes, scaring Lin Ran, who immediately turned his head back and waited for a while before secretly turning back again, only to find that Song Zhi Xu had been looking at him.

The two of them looked face to face and Lin Ran’s body trembled with fear.But finally, with great courage, he asked him in a low voice, “Zhi Xu, we… where are we going?”

Lin Ran had heard his brother call him like that, so he called him like that too.Song Zhi Xu frowned slightly. The first time he met someone, he didn’t like being called like this, a rather familiar kind of address.So he emphasized it, “My name is Song Zhi Xu, you can call me by my name.”

Lin Ran was stunned for a moment, then nodded his head and followed the way he talked, “My name is… Lin Ran, you can call me Ran Ran.”

After saying that and after a moment he asked again, “Song Zhi Xu, where are we going?”

“To the capital, my home.”

Song Zhi Xu simply said five words to him before turning his head again to look outside the window at the rapidly flashing images.Lin Ran didn’t understand but he also didn’t ask, he could tell that the other party didn’t seem to want to pay attention to him, so he moved to the other side and pressed himself close to the car door, shrinking into a ball.

The driver drove the two all the way to the airport and waited until they had gotten out of the car, then drove himself back from Haicheng to the capital.Because of the far distance, the flight only took more than two hours, but by driving, it took more than ten hours of journey so the driver drove back slowly by himself.

Lin Ran had come back from abroad before and his id and documents were in his school bag. Song Zhi Xu’s documents were also with him.The two of them bought the nearest ticket and waited for a while at the airport before boarding the plane and heading back directly to the capital.

During the two-hour trip, Lin Ran didn’t say much, he just subconsciously moved closer to Song Zhi Xu. The surroundings were unfamiliar and he didn’t know anyone, so he could only stay close to Song Zhi Xu, only then he could make himself feel at ease a little.It was only when they arrived at the residence and the door was closed, with only both of them left inside that Lin Ran relaxed a little.

Although it was still an unfamiliar environment, at least there was someone who was somewhat familiar to him, without any other outsiders, such an environment felt more secure to him.”There are rooms upstairs, choose it yourself! I’ll go up and tidy it up for you later.”

Song Zhi Xu said this as he pointed upstairs, taking off his coat and walking to the kitchen.The housekeeper and the nanny were an old married couple.

Recently, the housekeeper was sick and had been hospitalized, therefore the auntie always prepared the food and put it in the food warmer box, so when Song Zhixu returned home, he could eat it.

Song Zhi Xu opened the thermos box and took out the food inside, but when he turned his head, he found Lin Ran’s hands clinging to the backpack strap. He was blindly following behind him like a little tail.

“Didn’t I tell you to go upstairs and find a room? Why are you following me?”

Song Zhi Xu was a little confused.Lin Ran shook his head, “Just… Stay in the room next to you, no need to choose.”

Song Zhi Xu understood that he was going to stay next to his room, so he didn’t ask any more questions, he just handed him the meal he was holding to him and then turned around to take out the rest.
