Chapter 39 :The red marks on Song Zhi Xu’s neck

The next day, when Lin Ran woke up from his sleep, Song Zhi Xu was already sitting up from the bed and Lin Ran’s eyes opened a little as he looked at him.

He habitually went up to him again, hugged his waist and lightly rubbed it until he was completely awake, only then did he suddenly react to the fact that he was actually on the bed.

Song Zhi Xu saw the sleepiness on Lin Ran’s face dissipate before he got up from the bed, put on his slippers and went to wash up. 

Lin Ran looked at the floor and then at the bed, after a while, somehow annoyed, he slapped his own cheeks.

He must have missed Song Zhi Xu so much last night that he had climbed into bed in the middle of the night. No wonder, last night, he had dreamt that Song Zhi Xu had hugged and kissed him.

So he was sleeping in the same bed with Song Zhi Xu again? Did Song Zhi Xu have a nosebleed?

Lin Ran hurriedly got up and searched for it on the bed. He was relieved to see that there was no blood on it, but he still felt uneasy so he went to the washroom to check on Song Zhi Xu.

After looking at Song Zhi Xu for a moment, Lin Ran actually saw several red marks on Song Zhi Xu’s neck.

He touched it with his finger as he lowered his eyes which were full of self blame.

“Song Zhi Xu, I’m sorry. Are you in pain? Ran Ran hurt you again.”

Song Zhi Xu saw the red marks on the top of his neck in the mirror. His movement stopped, suppressing the surprise in his eyes, he turned to look at Lin Ran, 

“How do you know that this is…your doing?”

It was obvious that Lin Ran had fallen asleep last night. Could it be that Lin Ran wasn’t asleep last night and he just pretended to be?

Then did Lin Ran also realize that he was secretly kissing him?

“There was only Ran Ran and Song Zhi Xu in the bed, so… so it must have been Ran Ran who did it.” The last time Song Zhi Xu undressed him, he had a nosebleed and it was because of him.

After Song Zhi Xu heard him finish talking, he let out a sigh of relief. He turned  his body around to exit the washroom.

“It’s not you. It was the mosquito in the room last night, I was afraid it would bite you, that’s why I carried you to the bed.”

“Huh?” Lin Ran dumbfounded as he watched Song Zhi Xu leave.

So it wasn’t him who climbed into the bed last night? Song Zhi Xu also wasn’t injured because of him?

So it was all the mosquitoes. 

Lin Ran looked in the mirror again yet there wasn’t any red mark on himself.

Song Zhi Xu was so nice, he didn’t let the mosquitoes bite him.

Lin Ran was happy and ran out after him quickly.

While Song Zhi Xu was cooking breakfast, Lin Ran kept talking to him. He then took the breakfast that Song Zhi Xu had prepared and set it on the table.

Lin Ran was still talking in a huff until the two of them were eating breakfast together.

“The mosquitoes are too annoying, biting Song Zhi Xu. We need to buy the insecticide spray to kill it.”

Song Zhi Xu gave Lin Ran a glance and nodded after a moment.

“Okay, you eat first. I’ll buy the insecticide spray after work tonight, you just need to spray it in the room at night.”

“Okay,” Lin Ran agreed. Today, he must close the door well, he couldn’t let the mosquitoes fly out.

Song Zhi Xu lowered his head, not telling him ‘that mosquito’ was perhaps not afraid of insecticide.

After breakfast, Lin Ran got up, cleaned up the table and followed Song Zhi Xu to the entrance still wearing the nightgown.

Before Song Zhi Xu left, he gave him a hug and didn’t forget to remind him, “We need to buy insecticide tonight.”

Song Zhi Xu nodded and stroked the top of his hair again.

“Ran Ran, the company is far from here, I can’t come back at noon. I’ll have my assistant bring you the food, call me if you need anything, even if there’s anything… you can call me too.”

“Okay, Ran Ran knows.” Lin Ran promised him, only then Song Zhi Xu left.

After closing the door, Lin Ran ran quickly to the second floor, until he watched from the window that Song Zhi Xu’s car drove out of the mansion and couldn’t be seen again, only then he stood up for a little longer and returned to the first floor.

Lin Ran began to clean the house. He hadn’t finished cleaning it last night therefore he had to finish it all.

The villa was very spacious and he still had a lot to do.

On the other hand, Song Zhi Xu hadn’t been in his office for quite a long time. The assistant knocked on the door and entered, holding a pile of documents.

“Boss, you suddenly took leave yesterday, and there are still some documents that have not been processed and need your signature.”

“Hn, put it down!” Song Zhi Xu opened his computer.

The assistant put the documents down from his arms, he was called again before walking out the door.

“At noon, continue to deliver the food to my villa. I’ll send you the nutritional menu later, remember to put the amount of food less, he can’t finish eating it if too much, it will be a waste.”

Song Zhi Xu deliberately reminded him, he knew that Lin Ran did not like to waste food, so Song Zhi Xu was afraid that if the amount of food was too much, Lin Ran would push himself to eat and ate too much.

“Okay.” The assistant agreed and asked in a low voice, “Boss, is it your friend’s little brother that’s back again?”

Song Zhi Xu finally raised his head and nodded in a good mood.

He had put Lin Ran in the villa again. He would be able to go straight back to the villa and see Lin Ran after he finished work in the afternoon.

“It’s quite good, boss, you haven’t even returned and stayed at the villa for some days.” As the assistant said this, he saw the red marks on Song Zhi Xu’s neck, therefore he couldn’t help but move forward, “Boss, your neck…here.”

Song Zhi Xu lowered his eyes for a moment and touched it with his finger, slightly in pain. 

“It was bitten by the mosquito.” He explained casually, blurt out whatever comes into his head morning like what he did in the morning, “All right, go out and get busy with yours!”

“Oh.” The assistant left with the expression as if he wanted to say something but then hesitated; he couldn’t help but mutter in his heart. 

He wasn’t even an old virgin man yet his boss was lying to him. That was obviously not a mosquito bite.

The boss is really…, he is already that old yet he didn’t say it out for being in a relationship, making it look like a hidden or secret love affair

After a long day of work, Song Zhi Xu’s mobile phone had been placed on his desk, where he could reach out and glance at it from time to time.

He had clearly told the little fool in the morning that he could call him even if there wasn’t anything, but for the whole day, that little fool really didn’t call him at all.

On the contrary, Song Zhi Xu even called him during his free time at noon, but he didn’t talk for long because Lin Ran hung up, not knowing what he was doing at home.

It was only when it was close to the time to get off of work that Song Zhi Xu finally received a call from Lin Ran. He even deliberately waited for a while before picking it up and putting it to his ear.

Lin Ran’s soft voice came from there.

“Song Zhi Xu, are you off work yet?”

Song Zhi Xu looked at his watch, there was still a little time before he got off work, but he was ready to go back yet he had no intention of telling Lin Ran.

He replied, “I’ll be home after this, what’s wrong?”

“Song Zhi Xu, don’t forget to buy the insecticide.” Lin Ran reminded him. He was afraid that Song Zhi Xu would forget and that there would be mosquitoes biting Song Zhi Xu again at night.

Song Zhi Xu was unable to react for a moment, he had really forgotten about this matter.

In the morning, he had just said it casually. There were actually no mosquitoes in the room, so of course no need for insecticide either. 

“Okay, I’ll go buy it later.” He had said it himself this morning so there was no way to refuse it now. Song Zhi Xu didn’t have a choice but to agree.

He didn’t know what Lin Ran was busy with since he hung up the phone again only after a few words.

Song Zhi Xu sat there for a little longer while holding his phone in his hand, but still picked up his own clothes and left.

He drove to the supermarket and bought insecticide spray before returning to the villa.

As soon as he entered the courtyard, he saw Lin Ran stepl on a stool, standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window and wiping the glass with his arms stretched out.

Song Zhi Xu frowned and walked into the villa to see that the inside had been cleaned, everything in the villa had been tidied up, even the staircase handrail had been wiped clean.

No wonder, this whole day, Lin Ran hadn’t said a few words to him. 

Hearing the sound of the door opening, Lin Ran stepped on the stool and turned back, so after seeing it was Song Zhi Xu, he gave him a bright smile.

For a moment he didn’t pay attention, the stool on his feet tilted a little and Lin Ran’s body followed suit, however, he was able to stand still again.

Song Zhi Xu was relieved when he saw him stand firmly. He had just thought that Lin Ran was going to fall off so he was frightened for a while. 

He changed his shoes, walked quickly to the floor-to-ceiling window. He directly picked up Lin Ran from the stool, walked over to the sofa, before slowly putting him down and gave him a squeeze on the cheek with some force.

“Didn’t I tell you that you don’t need to wipe it if you can’t reach it. You fell down last time, don’t tell me that you have forgotten about it?”

Lin Ran spat out his tongue a little guilty. He pulled the hem of Song Zhi Xu’s shirt and shook it gently.

“It’s not dangerous. Just now, it’s only because I saw Song Zhi Xu that I didn’t stand still.”

There were two large floor-to-ceiling windows under the villa and he’d finished cleaning the other one, so he definitely would not have fallen down at all. Just now, it was only because he was too excited when he saw Song Zhi Xu had come back that he tilted a little.

Song Zhi Xu could not do anything about it, and after a moment of silence, he finally said, 

“Next time wait for me to come back, I’ll wipe it with you. You can’t go up there by yourself anymore.”

“Hm.” Lin Ran nodded his head as he agreed to it. 

Both of them went back to the floor-to-ceiling window to finish wiping the rest.

After cleaning up, Song Zhi Xu went into the kitchen to make dinner, while Lin Ran took the bug spray he had bought and went upstairs.

When Lin Ran thought of the bite marks on Song Zhi Xu’s neck, he was a bit resentful and carefully sprayed all the insecticide spray in the room, using up the whole bottle to make sure it killed the mosquitoes before he rushed out, not forgetting to close the doors and windows.

It would have been ineffective if it dispersed.

Song Zhi Xu didn’t know how to explain it to him either so he let him freely do what he wanted to do while he cooked in the kitchen.

After he finished cooking dinner and the two of them ate, they stayed on the sofa for a while before Lin Ran started to get sleepy and it was almost time for him to go to sleep, only then the two of them were ready to go upstairs to rest.

Song Zhi Xu opened the door to his room, but before he could go inside, he was choked by the smell of bug spray in the room. He hurriedly exited again, closing the door behind him before he could breathe freely.

“Ran Ran, how much did you spray?” Song Zhi Xu rubbed his temples. His head hurt from the smoke.

“Eh, one bottle.” Lin Ran blinked his eyes.

Song Zhi Xu was speechless for a moment. Lin Ran hadn’t even tidied up his bed for him. Now the smell is so heavy, how is he going to sleep at night?

Lin Ran opened the door, took a breath and immediately exited as well.

The two of them stood at the entrance of the room for a moment. Finally Song Zhi Xu found a towel to cover his mouth and nose before entering the room and opening the window to let the smell inside the room out.

There was just no way to sleep here tonight.

At night, both of them lay in Lin Ran’s room.This time, Lin Ran on the bed  while Song Zhi Xu on the floor.

After lying there for a long time, the person in the bed moved and climbed down slowly. It didn’t take long for Song Zhi Xu’s quilt to be lifted up and his warm body squeezed into his quilt.

Lin Ran thought Song Zhi Xu had fallen asleep so he whispered in his ear, 

“Song Zhi Xu, this time in Ran Ran’s room, there are no more mosquitoes.”
