Chapter 66: 宋知许，你不会再去出差了吗

Song Zhi Xu, you’re not going on business trips anymore right?

Song Zhi Xu glanced at Lin Ran, who was still yawning sleepily in his embrace, and then at Xiao Nanyu at the entrance

In the end, he just nodded his head and said thank you. When Xiao Nanyu left, Song Zhi Xu was baffled by the fact that Lin Ran was a man yet Xiao Nanyu had asked him to see a gynecologist, “Ran Ran, is there still any discomfort in your body?” Song Zhi Xu asked worriedly again.

Lin Ran shook his head, still a little drowsy as he leaned on Song Zhi Xu’s chest, yawned and rubbed against his chest again before he said in a small voice, “No discomfort, Ran Ran wants to go home. Song Zhi Xu, let’s go home okay?”

Song Zhi Xu saw Lin Ran looking like this, his softhearted’s heart going to melt. He nodded his head before then kissed him on his forehead.

“Get up first and eat your breakfast. Later I’ll go ask the doctor and make sure there are no more problems, then we’ll go home.”

Lin Ran promised him yet he still didn’t want to move over, so Song Zhi Xu could only go and get the breakfast that Xiao Nanyu had sent over and feed it to Lin Ran. When he opened it, there was a well-made wrapped rice roll and an omelette with a red love heart drawn on top of it with tomato sauce. The corners of Song Zhi Xu’s lips twitched as he used chopsticks to stir the love heart into the paste before giving it to Lin Ran to eat.

It seemed to be a special gift for Mu Qingting, so he couldn’t let Lin Ran see it, it would hurt his eyes.

After feeding Lin Ran, he inserted a straw and let him drink a cup of soft rice porridge. After Lin Ran had eaten until he was full and fallen asleep, only then Song Zhi Xu quietly left. 

He went to ask the doctor and showed him the check up form, making sure Lin Ran was okay before then he finally put his mind at ease.

Before leaving with the doctor’s prescription, Song Zhi Xu remembered Xiao Nanyu’s words and hesitated for a moment before asking, 

“Dr. Chen, the patient’s condition, do I still need to take him to go to the gynaecology department?”

Dr. Chen was dumbfounded as he looked up at Song Zhi Xu in confusion. He then looked at the gender of the patient report sheet once more with certainty.

“Mr Song, this…he is a male patient, what are you going to see in the gynaecology department for? This…it’s just ordinary hypoglycemia and a little mild anemia, just take some vitamins, pay attention to the patient’s diet and eat on time in general then he will be okay.” After reminding him once more that he should not forget to eat breakfast, Dr. Chen directly drove Song Zhi Xu out.

Song Zhi Xu didn’t think much about it, he also thought Xiao Nanyu’s words were quite absurd, but for the sake of Lin Ran’s body health, he still asked the doctor, in fact, he found it hard to speak about it. 

When he returned to the ward, Lin Ran was still asleep, so Song Zhi Xu didn’t want to wake him up, so he sat beside the bed and watched over him.

Because he had only come back just in such a short time, Song Zhi Xu had received many calls on his mobile phone during the flight, and now he was finally able to answer them one by one. 

After he settled everything, an hour almost passed since then. 

Lin Ran had just woken up from sleep, so he rubbed his eyes, and said in a small voice when he saw Song Zhi Xu sitting beside his bed, 

“Song Zhi Xu, are we going to go home now? “

Song Zhi Xu nodded, helped him out of bed and personally helped him change into his hospital gown. He then also changed his own clothes too, before then the two of them were ready to leave. 

Mu Qingting had just come to work and hadn’t been here for long, so after checking the rooms, he saw the two people leaving, walked over to them and looked at them as he raised his eyebrow, “You guys are ready to leave now? Don’t you want to stay for a few more days?” Before Song Zhi Xu could say anything, Lin Ran immediately shook his head, hugged Song Zhi Xu’s neck and crawled towards him, until Song Zhi Xu conveniently picked him up, only then Lin Ran felt relieved and said in a small voice, 

“Ran Ran doesn’t like it here. Ran Ran wants to go home.” Lin Ran waved goodbye to Mu Qingting and whispered again in Song Zhi Xu’s ear urging him to go home quickly.

Song Zhi Xu was helpless and patted Lin Ran’s back before turning toward Mu Qingting and said, 

“Ran Ran doesn’t like it here, so I’ll take him back first. It’s been hard for you this time, we’ll hang out again sometime.”

Mu Qingting covered his chest as if he was sad.

“What a fart with ‘sometime’, aren’t you always going around little Ran Ran all the day? Hurry up and leave, you this ‘neglect friend when smitten with love’. Heartless thing!” Song Zhi Xu also didn’t take this into his heart, the two of them had known each other since they were young and had been together for so many years. They used to talk and joke like this, so he knew that Mu Qingting wouldn’t really get angry at him. However, since he had Lin Ran, it was true that he rarely went out with Mu Qingting, sat down and had a drink.

Shrugging his shoulders, Song Zhi Xu left while carrying Lin Ran in his arms.

After getting into the car again, Lin Ran was seated on top of the front passenger side. He then smiled happily, coming up excitedly and giving Song Zhi Xu a kiss on his cheek, “Ran Ran doesn’t like hospitals, so next time, can we not come here anymore?”

He didn’t know why, but when he woke up from his sleep, he was in a hospital, filled with people in white clothes, there was even one of them who held the injection needle, and Lin Ran was so afraid that he didn’t dare to leave his room.

“You eat well, don’t get sick, then you don’t need to go to the hospital anymore.” Song Zhi Xu was in a quite good mood so he directly started the car, taking Lin Ran away. Lin Ran nodded his head seriously.

“Ran Ran will eat properly, and will not let myself get hungry.” He would often have no food to eat in the past, so Lin Ran always ate when he had food only, except the last time, when Song Zhi Xu left and he didn’t hear any news from him, Lin Ran had never been hungry anymore. 

“Really? Then why do I often get the message that you didn’t even take your breakfast when it was left at the door during lunch time?” Song Zhi Xu raised his eyebrows slightly. These days when he wasn’t home, the assistant had told him not knowing for how many times that lunch was delivered at noon yet breakfast was still left at the door without being taken. Lin Ran was stunned and spat out his tongue in embarrassment, saying in a small voice, “Ran Ran didn’t wake up yet, so…that’s why I didn’t eat.”

Song Zhi Xu also didn’t know how to scold him, he was not at home so no one was there to take care of Lin Ran, no wonder he got hypoglycemic and anemic, since he never ate his breakfast on time.

Lin Ran secretly peeked at Song Zhi Xu several times and saw that Song Zhi Xu did not seem to be particularly angry therefore he quietly let out a sigh of relief and asked in a small voice, “Song Zhi Xu, are we going to go home? Xiao Guai and Xiao Guai’s wife are still at home.”

Song Zhi Xu shook his head.

“Let’s not go home yet, let’s go to the supermarket first. When I’m not at home, there’s no food there, even if I go back now, I also can’t cook there.”

Lin Ran also thought about it, nodded his head and sat seriously in the car again. Song Zhi Xu then took Lin Ran to the supermarket.

Putting him in the shopping cart as he pushed the cart to buy quite a lot of things. The snacks previously he bought for Lin Ran during his business trip, Lin Ran didn’t finish eating it yet, so he didn’t buy anything else for Lin Ran, he just bought some ingredients, before then the two of them went back.

When they arrived at the villa, the inside was still clean as before. Lin Ran would clean up the villa, so Song Zhi Xu didn’t have to worry that it would be messy. Although he actually wasn’t willing to let Lin Ran work, he had to say that how Lin Ran cleaned the villa was definitely much cleaner than when he used a housemaid before. As soon as Lin Ran entered, he changed his shoes and ran quickly upstairs. It didn’t take long for him to come down with the little turtle where he kept in the fish bowl.

Song Zhi Xu packed up the things he had just bought. After taking a look at the time and no need for him to rush, he sat on the sofa and opened the computer to read the company’s reports for a while. He had returned from a long business trip and there were indeed quite a few things in the company that he needed to handle.

Lin Ran hugged the little turtle, sat on the sofa and played with it for a while. When he got tired of playing with it, he pulled Song Zhi Xu’s arm and sat inside, looking at the computer screen together with him.

But looking at Song Zhi Xu’s face who was so serious that he didn’t even look away for a long time, he only saw densely packed words and square patterns, besides that, he couldn’t read anything. 

After looking at it for a while, Lin Ran became a bit sleepy and yawned. He leaned on Song Zhi Xu’s body and wanted to go to sleep.

“Ran Ran, are you sleepy again?” Song Zhi Xu saw that Lin Ran was about to fall asleep, so he put down the laptop and gently patted Lin Ran’s cheek. Lin Ran opened his eyes and nodded his head. He spoke in a low muffled voice. “Ran Ran is sleepy, wants to sleep.”

Song Zhi Xu took a look at the time, it was almost eleven o’clock. This time, Lin Ran slept and he would not know how long he would be sleeping, certainly his lunchtime would be late. 

Song Zhi Xu picked Lin Ran up, turned on the television for him and coaxed him in a low voice, 

“Baby, you watch TV for a while and I’ll go and make lunch. Wait until you’ve eaten then you can go to sleep, okay? Otherwise you won’t be able to eat after this, if you fall asleep.” Lin Ran touched his stomach, he wasn’t actually hungry, but Song Zhi Xu said that he had to eat regularly so that he wouldn’t need to go to the hospital, therefore, Lin Ran still nodded his head.

Song Zhi Xu gave him another kiss on the lips before he got up and went to the kitchen. Lin Ran went against his sleepiness and sat on the sofa to watch the cartoons Song Zhi Xu had found for him.

The yellow sponge and pink starfish running around with nets on the TV screen temporarily dispelled his sleepiness.

Lin Ran was not a picky eater and easy to serve. Song Zhi Xu picked out several dishes, made a quick lunch and also served the cooked rice.

Only after it was done,  did he ask Lin Ran to come over to eat with him.

Lin Ran was not fussy about his food either, so he sat down at the table and obediently ate it all, got up and tidied up the table, before dragging Song Zhi Xu upstairs to sleep. Song Zhi Xu accompanied Lin Ran to lay down on the bed, gently patting Lin Ran’s back.

“Song Zhi Xu, you won’t go on another business trip right?” Lin Ran suddenly lifted his head from inside Song Zhi Xu’s embrace to look at him.

He was afraid that when he woke up from his sleep, he would still be alone in bed and Song Zhi Xu would be gone again.

“No, I’ve come back, so I won’t leave and stay here to accompany you.” Song Zhi Xu held the person tightly in his embrace. After being outside for so long, Song Zhi Xu also missed Lin Ran so much. Lin Ran then put his heart at ease and leaned into Song Zhi Xu’s arms and closed his eyes. Recently, Lin Ran was fond of sleeping so it didn’t take him long to fall asleep. After sitting on the bed for a while, Song Zhi Xu got up and went to his study room. There was one thing he could not understand, which was about that person who gave Lin Ran that house. What exactly was that person’s relationship with Lin Ran? Moreover, if those things were really given to Lin Ran by his father, then why did Lin Mu not know anything about it and how did it get into his (Song Zhi Xu’s) Dad’s hands?

These were things that Song Zhi Xu had wanted to ask a long time ago, but because of his business trip, he always didn’t have the time so now, taking advantage of the fact that he could not sleep, he had to ask about it clearly. 

He took out his mobile phone and made a call. It didn’t take long before a deep and resounding male voice came from the other side of the line. Song Zhi Xu then called out, “Dad.” The person on the other side froze before then replied with “Hn.” and spoke again, “What is it?”

“I wanna ask, is Lin Ran’s ‘father’ who gave him something, does that father refer to Uncle Lin?” Both father and son were not talkative types of people so they didn’t even exchange conventional greetings, their phone call was also straight to the question.
