Chapter 77: 宋知许：爸，我给你找了个儿媳妇

Song Zhi Xu: Dad, I’ve search a daughter-in-law for you

Song Zhi Xu frowned and let Lin Ran sit by himself as he stood up and said.

“What’s going on?”

The assistant quietly glanced outside and pursed his lips.

“It’s Vice President Chen… He went to the police station to report that you beat him, boss. He also had his injuries examined.”

Song Zhi Xu glanced out through the doorway, two men in police uniforms were standing outside the lift. Next to them stood Vice President Chen, whose face was wrapped in gauze.

Song Zhi Xu nodded and let his assistant leave first, then shifted his line of sight to Lin Ran on the sofa.

Lin Ran did not understand what was going on and was looking at him. When he saw Song Zhi Xu look over, Lin Ran blinked his eyes and called out in a small voice, “Song Zhi Xu.”

This time, since the police had already come over, Song Zhi Xu definitely had to make a trip. He couldn’t let Lin Ran stay at the company by himself, so he had to take Lin Ran with him.

Song Zhi Xu sat down on the sofa again and touched the top of Lin Ran’s hair, his voice softened a bit as he said to Lin Ran, 

“Ran Ran, let’s go out later, okay? Don’t be afraid.”

Lin Ran’s eyes widened as he thought about it and asked again.

“Are we going to play? Will Ran Ran go together with Song Zhi Xu?”

Song Zhi Xu was still a little unsure how to answer Lin Ran for a moment, but after thinking about it he still nodded his head.

“Yes, together with several friends too.”

Since it was with Song Zhi Xu, Lin Ran was relieved, he didn’t care where he was going to go so he nodded his head without even thinking about it.

Song Zhi Xu gave him another kiss on his forehead before pulling Lin Ran to stand up and walk out.

The gauze-wrapped head of Vice President Chen still had some trepidation when he saw Song Zhi Xu as he took one step back before he shrank behind the police officer and said in a small voice, 

“This is Song Zhi Xu, these injuries of mine, he is the one who caused it.”

The policeman came over to ask, Song Zhi Xu didn’t deny it and called the company’s legal department to accompany him over.

When they got into the car, Lin Ran and Song Zhi Xu sat in the back seat. Lin Ran leaned into Song Zhi Xu’s arms as if he also felt that the situation was a bit serious therefore he asked Song Zhi Xu in a low voice, 

“Is it because Song Zhi Xu hit someone and they are angry?”

Lin Ran’s memory couldn’t be considered as good yet he had just met the person this morning, so he still remembered the person who was beaten by Song Zhi Xu. He recognised him just now in the upstairs, but with strangers around, he leaned over Song Zhi Xu’s side as he didn’t dare to speak.

Song Zhi Xu smiled and took him into his embrace. 

“Ran Ran, you don’t have to worry about anything, you just have to follow me.”

Lin Ran nodded his head obediently. He was originally going to follow Song Zhi Xu as well.

When they arrived at the police station, Song Zhi Xu needed to make a statement, but he pulled Lin Ran with him too and wouldn’t let him go. 

The police officer looked at the two men and could only make a sound to remind them.

Song Zhi Xu turned to look at Vice President Chen next to him and cooperated as he said, 

“I’ll take him with me. He’s timid and he can’t be without me.”

The policeman could also see that Lin Ran seemed to be a bit out of sorts. He had been with Song Zhi Xu and was hiding by his side and he didn’t dare to look at anyone else. His body was tense when someone looked at him, so they didn’t say anything anymore.

Song Zhi Xu cooperated and told them what had happened this morning and the rest was left to the company’s legal affairs.

He had to say that Vice President Chen was very smart, he knew that returning to the company was out of the question. He was making this scene because he wanted to ask Song Zhi Xu for money once before he finally left.

No matter what the reason was this morning, it was a fact that Song Zhi Xu had beaten someone up in front of so many people. He has no intention of denying it, so it doesn’t matter if he has to spend some money, so it’s not a problem to discuss the matter and settle it privately.

After the statement was taken, Song Zhi Xu and Lin Ran stayed inside for a while, waiting for the legal department to negotiate with Vice President Chen. Both sides agreed to settle the matter privately, so the matter would be considered as done.

After a short time, Song Zhi Xu and Lin Ran were sent back to the company.

When they returned to Song Zhi Xu’s office, there were only two people left inside the office after closing the door. Only then did Lin Ran relax heartily, his body went limp as he sat down on the sofa and his face slightly pale.

He was still afraid of people. Sitting in the same car with a complete stranger, not too far away from him, had kept him tense. Now that he was finally relaxed, he felt his legs go weak.

Song Zhi Xu rushed over to Lin Ran’s side. He took him into his arms and gently stroked Lin Ran’s back, sighing as he loved him dearly, 

“Ran Ran, it’s my fault for making you scared again, right?”

Lin Ran had never lied to Song Zhi Xu so he nodded honestly and rubbed his head against Song Zhi Xu’s embrace before he said in a small voice, 

“Ran Ran is scared, they….they are a bit mean, even more fierce than … Song Zhi Xu who hit people.”

Song Zhi Xu, who hit people this morning, had scared Lin Ran, but he only scared a little. However, just now those people did not hit anybody, yet they made Lin Ran even more afraid since they were even more fierce than this  morning Song Zhi Xu.

Song Zhi Xu was distressed and somehow amused, it seemed that he had really scared Lin Ran. It was unexpectedly that he had become the standard for Lin Ran’s fear.

He glanced at the time before then he picked Lin Ran up from the sofa. Lin Ran looked like this, so he also didn’t feel like staying at the office any longer, so he was ready to take Lin Ran home.
