Chapter 22
“Zhang Jingzhu, kiss me.”
Zhang Jingzhu was pulled over by the fishtail and turned over. She lowered her eyes to look at Cheng Shuinan, who was lying on the floor. His pupils were bright, filled with water. He slightly raised his upper body and leaned towards her face. He didn’t dare to touch her actively, but he kept begging her with a muffled, murmuring voice.
Her heart felt like a waterlogged sponge.
Zhang Jingzhu had zero romantic experience, but compared to Cheng Shuinan, she clearly had some knowledge reserves. Besides, he was lying limply under her, allowing her to press down on his chest, like a delicate flower that had been bent by wind and rain.
A soft moan escaped her throat.
Zhang Jingzhu lowered her head and, under his expectant gaze, kissed his lips precisely.
The fishtail resting on her knees trembled violently, then tightened its grip even more.
Cheng Shuinan’s vision was hazy, as if shrouded in a layer of mist. Zhang Jingzhu’s scent was so strong that it filled every breath he took. He felt like he must be dreaming. Zhang Jingzhu had actually kissed his lips.
At that moment, his already precarious sanity completely crumbled. After all, he had merman genes. How could a merman with sharp teeth and long, sharp spines be a gentle herbivore?
They were the beasts of the ocean, fierce and passionate mermen.
Sharp teeth gnawed at her skin. The sensation on her lips was clear, as if her flesh was being pulled and ground between his teeth. Zhang Jingzhu’s brow furrowed. Water seeped into her mouth. Her brain felt like it had been injected with a hallucinogenic drug. Her vision became blurry.
She saw Cheng Shuinan’s mouth full of sharp teeth, savagely and wickedly lunging towards her to bite. She tried to turn her head to dodge, but Cheng Shuinan, who had lost his mind, hugged her head and pressed it hard against his own. Just as Zhang Jingzhu thought she was about to be bitten and bleed, the sharp teeth that were about to touch her turned and gently ground against her with the tip of his teeth.
Zhang Jingzhu sighed in relief: “Cheng Shuinan, just a kiss. Nothing more…”
Cheng Shuinan opened his eyes and bit down hard.
Zhang Jingzhu hissed in pain.
She tasted blood.
Her mind became a little fuzzy.
He was so beautiful.
Zhang Jingzhu unconsciously wrapped her arms around him.
“Zhang Jingzhu, is this okay?” Cheng Shuinan, using his limited knowledge, asked with a humble and inquisitive attitude, lightly pecking her cheek.
He sucked on her flesh, only daring to use his lips. The moment his sanity returned slightly, he realized that her lip was cracked.
Zhang Jingzhu didn’t know how to describe her current feelings. She admitted that she had indeed been beguiled. She was a very conservative person at heart. Even if she felt sorry for Cheng Shuinan, she would never let their relationship develop so quickly.
But the reality was:
She opened her eyes. When her sanity returned.
She was already lying in the bathtub. Pieces of her pajamas floated on the surface. Cheng Shuinan had somehow transformed into legs and was straddling her waist. Cold water droplets slid down her thin skin, forming circles of ripples on the water.
Zhang Jingzhu’s nostrils were filled with a sweet fragrance so thick it was almost suffocating. Her body uncontrollably slid downwards. Cheng Shuinan immediately grabbed her waist and lifted her up, resting her head against the edge of the bathtub.
Not getting a response, Cheng Shuinan wasn’t discouraged. He carefully observed Zhang Jingzhu’s facial expressions. He discovered that she had only furrowed her brow, then lowered her eyes, her eyes filled with shyness and nervousness, and a faint trace of… comfort? It required careful observation to see it.
Cheng Shuinan couldn’t hide his joy.
He murmured against her face: “Zhang Jingzhu… I love you so much. I’m never leaving again. You still want me, right?”
Zhang Jingzhu felt a sense of helplessness.
Cheng Shuinan sensed her emotional fluctuations and panicked: “Zhang Jingzhu, you’re the one who started this. You can’t… you can’t go back on your word…”
“I didn’t say I was going back on my word.”
Zhang Jingzhu opened her eyes, her voice hoarse. Her voice was usually soft, but now it was rough and weak, as if she had been awake for days and nights. She was helplessly held in his arms. “Is that okay? Let me go. I want to sleep. I’m very tired.”
Cheng Shuinan nodded but didn’t let go.
Zhang Jingzhu didn’t have the energy to say it again. She closed her eyes and fell asleep.
The mattress in the bedroom was carefully chosen by Zhao Jing. It was soft and comfortable, like lying on a pile of cotton. When Zhang Jingzhu touched the familiar bedding, she subconsciously rolled out of Cheng Shuinan’s arms and skillfully found a pillow to hug.
Cheng Shuinan was now in human form, but he was different. Scattered black scales were distributed on his chest, back, and legs. His warm embrace suddenly became empty. He hadn’t been satisfied with the taste of love just now. Instead, he constantly wanted to prolong their intimate embrace.
He stood quietly by the bed. The merman, who hadn’t fully passed through his mature stage, had an appearance that was between mature and youthful. But his brows and eyes were already clouded with the lingering thoughts of a lover. His pupils, compared to their previous clarity and brightness, now seemed gentle and lingering.
His gaze, fixed on Zhang Jingzhu’s sleeping face, was like the sugar threads that melted sugar people together under the heat.
“Zhang Jingzhu,” Cheng Shuinan called out. “Can I lie down on the bed?”
As he spoke, he looked disdainfully at the folding bed that he had occupied for so long.
Zhang Jingzhu, of course, couldn’t answer him. She was already asleep. The experience in the bathroom had left her covered in water. She felt like she was about to turn into a fish.
Fortunately, Cheng Shuinan had already cleaned himself before carrying her to bed.
Cheng Shuinan: “If you don’t agree, shake your head, okay?” Then his eyes lit up. “That means you agree. Zhang Jingzhu, you didn’t object.”
He skillfully climbed onto the bed and lay down behind her. He found it uncomfortable, so he turned around and lay down facing Zhang Jingzhu. He smiled for a while, then leaned over and sucked on the soft flesh that had been squeezed out because she was sleeping on her side. He released her, then sucked again. Only then did he stretch out his arms and hug her.
Zhang Jingzhu slept until the evening of the next day. When she woke up, she was being held by Cheng Shuinan like an octopus. Her face was pressed against his chest, and next to it was a hard black scale.
She silently stared for a while, not moving.
Her tongue felt numb.
Her lip was cracked.
Zhang Jingzhu wasn’t necessarily against Cheng Shuinan. It was just that she had too many worries and concerns. Now that the deed was done, there was no point in thinking about it anymore. But as she gradually recalled the events of yesterday, she vaguely noticed something, solving a question that had puzzled her for a long time:
The soft spines on the merman’s tongue were indeed problematic.
At first, even when the sweet scent seeped into her brain, Zhang Jingzhu could remain conscious. But ever since the soft spines had glided across the space of her mouth, unimpeded, sweeping across every sensitive nerve, and then unexpectedly releasing fluid containing unknown hormones.
She had started to feel dizzy.
As Zhang Jingzhu pondered, her hand uncontrollably reached out and pinched the open scale. She had experience with being suddenly pinched by it. The moment it was about to close, she squeezed it tightly.
“Zhang Jingzhu, it hurts.” Cheng Shuinan’s muffled voice sounded in her ear.
Zhang Jingzhu released her hand.
Cheng Shuinan stared at her, shrinking down, rubbing his face against hers affectionately. His eyes sparkled with a bright light. He opened his mouth: “We…”
“Okay, I know.” Zhang Jingzhu blushed. She didn’t need to hear him finish to know what he was going to say!
Cheng Shuinan bit his lip. After only a few breaths, he relentlessly said: “Zhang Jingzhu, you can’t kick me out.”
Zhang Jingzhu felt wronged: “I haven’t kicked you out.”
Cheng Shuinan mumbled softly: “You have.”
His emotions came and went quickly. The grievance he felt from being rejected by Zhang Jingzhu was easily blown away by the wind. His mood became cheerful as he noticed her obvious change. Her tone wasn’t much different from usual, but it was still different.
Before, her tone was gentle, like a savior. She would feel sorry for his battered body and lovingly heal his wounds. Now, she was still gentle, but it made his heart involuntarily soften and tremble.
He no longer felt the pity he had for a helpless animal. The shyness in his words seemed to finally realize that he was a mature man.
The scent that filled the room made him restless, but he didn’t dare to make any more requests. He could only gaze at Zhang Jingzhu with expectant eyes.
“Kiss me again…”
Being held in the arms of a beautiful merman, having him whisper tender words in a hushed voice, I believe few people would be able to resist. Zhang Jingzhu not only didn’t resist, but she also felt a hint of the same tingling sensation she had felt that day.
The moment Cheng Shuinan leaned in, she pinched his cheeks.
“Open your mouth. Let me see what your tongue looks like.”
Cheng Shuinan hummed in response and obediently opened his mouth.
Zhang Jingzhu almost stuck her entire head in, finally confirming that his mouth was now no different from a human’s. His teeth were neat and clean, and his tongue was red and healthy. She released her grip and pondered silently.
“What’s wrong with your legs? How did they suddenly turn back into a fishtail yesterday?”
Cheng Shuinan wasn’t happy that he didn’t get a kiss from Zhang Jingzhu. He rubbed against her chest like a spoiled child, his thick long hair affectionately rubbing against her chin and cheek. “Kiss me, and I’ll tell you.”
Zhang Jingzhu’s face instantly flushed red. “Cheng Shuinan, how…”
Cheng Shuinan’s face was even redder than hers, but he was younger. Even though they were different species, young people are always more passionate.
He tilted his head up, his eyes sparkling, and he slightly pouted his lips.
“Kiss me, and I’ll tell you.”
Zhang Jingzhu’s heart was pounding. She really couldn’t resist the temptation.
She lowered her head and kissed him.
Cheng Shuinan immediately bit her, not letting her back away.
Zhang Jingzhu made two muffled sounds and gave up struggling.
After releasing her, Zhang Jingzhu’s face was already flushed red.
But Cheng Shuinan seemed full of energy.
Zhang Jingzhu urged him: “Hurry up and tell me.”
Cheng Shuinan: “Actually, I’m not really sure…”
Zhang Jingzhu glared at him.
Cheng Shuinan quickly made amends: “At first, when my fishtail turned into legs, I wished it would never change back. But your feedback wasn’t like that. You like my fishtail more, right?”
Zhang Jingzhu coughed twice, pretending to be dead and not answering.
Cheng Shuinan continued: “Although I don’t understand why you prefer my fishtail, I’m very happy, because it’s my true form. I can actually change my form at will now. I don’t know how long it will last…”
The human legs he had transformed into weren’t overly white and thin. They actually had smooth muscle lines, and scattered fish scales were distributed on his skin.
It was these scales that left marks on Zhang Jingzhu’s body.
Like being gently scratched by a kitten.
Zhang Jingzhu couldn’t help but touch the scales: “It’s all good. I like both your fishtail and your legs. It’s okay if you can’t change at will.”
Cheng Shuinan hugged her: “Zhang Jingzhu… thank you. I love you so much. You must have a favorite, right? What’s your favorite…”
He was sticky and clingy, like a weaned puppy, constantly rubbing against her. Zhang Jingzhu was about to fall out of bed.
