The Lucky Koi Baby Overwhelms the World with Cuteness Chapter 8

Chapter 8: Her Daddy Might Really Be Half-Disabled?!

Potato cucumber meat sauce noodles… Is that how you make it?

In the end, Yu Mozhi gave up trying to figure it out himself. He picked up his phone, looked up a tutorial, and began clumsily chopping ingredients.

Once everything was in the pot and the water was boiling, the little girl was leaning against the kitchen doorway, poking her tiny head in to watch him.

Eventually, Yu Mozhi took the little one toward the bathroom.

The little koi was filthy, but after all, she was still a child. He’d heard that even shallow water could lead to children choking, so he opted for a safer route—using a wet cloth to wipe her dirty little face, arms, and legs clean for now. He’d wash her hair later.

Yu Mianmian didn’t feel uncomfortable at all. Her tiny hands sneakily reached for the basin, trying to splash in the water.

She used to be a fish after all—what kind of fish doesn’t like water?

She had endured being this dirty for quite a while already. Tilting her little head up, she let Yu Mozhi carefully wipe her down.

Raising a child is really exhausting—especially a little girl.

That first night after bringing her home, Yu Mozhi held a hair dryer in one hand, gently blowing her hair dry while thinking this very thought.

“Daddy, can I eat now?”

As soon as the little one saw the hair dryer, she reacted like a startled animal. Her big eyes were tightly shut, little fists clenched on her thighs, her small body held stiff. Even as she said, “I’m not scared, I’m not scared,” her whole face screamed, “I’m terrified, absolutely terrified!”

“Don’t move. Your hair needs to be dried.”

The weather was cold now. This place had been bought during the early days of his rise to fame, but he barely lived here. It hadn’t even been properly renovated. After one of his movies blew up and fans started swarming, the company had moved him to Jinxiumenting. This place didn’t even have air conditioning. If she didn’t get her hair dried, she’d catch a cold.

Yu Mozhi spoke with iron resolve. His voice was still hoarse from discomfort, and without his mask, his face looked like something crafted by the gods—pale lips, light eyes, a naturally ethereal appearance.

He looked thin, but once he rolled up his sleeves, you could see his muscles were solid and powerful. With his lips pressed together and brows furrowed, he looked as though he was handling something serious, carefully gripping the girl’s soft hair. His actions were gentle yet clumsy—awkward even—but even so, nothing could hide his innate nobility and aloofness.

“Okay then,” the little one pouted, scrunching her chubby cheeks and replying softly.

Once everything was ready, her hair tied into a crooked, sticking-up little ponytail, she looked absolutely thrilled with herself. She felt like she was the most beautiful girl in the world—Daddy’s little fairy fish, his precious baby. She clung to Yu Mozhi without any hesitation as he carried her to the dining table.

Yu Mozhi finally let out a breath of relief, not even wanting to look at the mess he’d made of her hair. He placed the bowl in front of the little one.

The little girl leaned forward, peering curiously at the unrecognizable food in her bowl.

Holding the spoon in her tiny hand, she asked in a soft, puzzled voice,
“Daddy… what is this?”

Yu Mozhi cleared his throat. “Potato cucumber meat sauce noodles.”

Yeah… at least that’s what it used to be.

The little girl nodded earnestly.

Together, the two slurped the noodles into their mouths.

—Bitter. And kind of salty.

Yu Mozhi frowned.

The little girl’s face scrunched up too, as she was thrown into deep shock.

My all-powerful Daddy Mo might actually be… half-disabled?!

No, she had to encourage him!

So she made a huge effort to swallow it and tried to praise him.
“Daddy is amazing!”

For the first time in his life, Yu Mozhi felt undeserving of a compliment. He looked at the serious little one, then at the bowl in front of her, and finally surrendered. He put the bowls away and ordered takeout.

He’d try again next time. He couldn’t let the little one keep saying things she didn’t really mean, could he?
