The Lucky Star Fake Eldest Daughter of the 1970s: Marrying a Military Officer and Being Pampered Chapter 23

Chapter 23: Correction

“I am Leng Mohan,” Leng Mohan said, his tone devoid of emotion, clearly unwilling to engage with her further. “Here’s the money. Turn on the device; I have something to say.”

He coldly glanced at Liang Yin, as if to tell her that his time was precious and couldn’t be wasted.

Liang Yin, initially furious, suddenly came to her senses upon hearing the three words “Leng Mohan.” A flash of surprise crossed her eyes as she looked at him incredulously.

“Leng Mohan, how are you here?” Liang Yin asked, a hint of expectation in her heart. Perhaps he was here to clarify the rumors circulating about the woman he brought back?

Liang Yin knew that she was always slightly inferior to Zhou Wenwen’s eloquent and charming demeanor.

Zhou Wenwen always effortlessly won everyone’s affection with her seemingly perfect act.

But Liang Yin still held onto a glimmer of hope: as long as Leng Mohan hadn’t gotten together with Zhou Wenwen, she still had a chance.

She knew that Zhou Wenwen’s hypocrisy and artificiality were like fleeting clouds, ethereal and unreal. She believed that someone as meticulous as Leng Mohan could never be fooled by Zhou Wenwen’s cleverness, let alone genuinely like her.

However, when Leng Mohan suddenly brought a woman back to the base, Liang Yin’s anxieties surged like a tide, fearing that the woman was his beloved.

“Captain Leng, are you here to clarify the rumors about that woman?” Liang Yin tentatively asked. She knew Leng Mohan came from a rural background, so the woman he brought back must also be from the countryside—in simpler terms, a country girl.

Leng Mohan didn’t respond or attempt to explain. In his view, such rumors weren’t worth his time to clarify.

Liang Yin received no reply, feeling a little disappointed, but quickly recovered. After all, she knew Leng Mohan was always taciturn and didn’t like talking much.

She picked up the money on the table, carefully recorded it, and then handed it to Leng Mohan. Just like that, their conversation ended silently.

Liang Yin activated the device, smiling easily at Leng Mohan. “Captain Leng, the device is debugged. You can start now.”

Leng Mohan walked expressionlessly to the microphone and calmly spoke, “I am Leng Mohan. I’ll take two minutes of everyone’s time. I want to clarify some things.”

“The woman I brought back is my legitimate wife. The marriage approval procedures are almost complete, and we are about to officially receive our marriage certificate. She is my legally recognized partner. Let me be clear, I have no relationship with Zhou Wenwen or any other woman. I don’t want anyone to connect me with other women and create unnecessary misunderstandings.”

“My current love, and my future love, is only my wife, Luo Jiaojiao. Therefore, I hope everyone stops spreading any false rumors about me. If anyone dares to gossip in front of my wife or slander our relationship, they will understand the consequences. Please respect my words. This is my commitment and determination to my marriage with Luo Jiaojiao.”

Leng Mohan’s words echoed through every corner of the base via the broadcast. His voice was firm and powerful, impossible to ignore.

In the military camp, Leng Mohan’s actions caused quite a stir. He actually went into the broadcast room to personally clarify things, even publicly declaring that the woman he brought back was his wife. It seemed he was serious this time.

The reactions in the military camp varied. Some genuinely offered their blessings to him and his wife, while others were heartbroken because Leng Mohan was married.

Of course, some were gloating, especially those who had fantasized about Zhou Wenwen and Leng Mohan. In any case, the most eye-catching person today was undoubtedly Leng Mohan’s wife—Luo Jiaojiao.

After Leng Mohan finished speaking, he turned to leave.

Liang Yin stood there, filled with disbelief. Watching Leng Mohan’s departing back, her heart was a mixture of emotions.

She never imagined Leng Mohan would make such a choice, nor did she expect him to announce his marriage so publicly. It was undoubtedly a huge blow to her.

Seeing Leng Mohan about to leave, Liang Yin hurriedly stepped forward to stop him, but he skillfully avoided her. This action made Liang Yin’s heart even heavier.

“Leng Mohan, how could you do this to me?” Liang Yin’s voice carried a hint of anger and resentment. “Ever since I first saw you in the army, I’ve had feelings for you. For the past three years, I’ve liked you, and even though you’ve never responded, I’ve never regretted it. But you actually married a country girl and claim to love her. Are you trampling on my feelings?”

Leng Mohan stood there, his gaze calmly fixed on Liang Yin. Her anger and sadness seemed invisible to him; he showed no emotion.

Liang Yin continued, but she seemed to forget that the broadcast room door was still open, her voice and emotions clearly transmitted outside.

“I know I’m not as good as Zhou Wenwen, but how could you make me not even as good as a country girl? You can’t treat me like this! What about my feelings over the past three years? How am I supposed to face others in the army?” Liang Yin’s voice was slightly choked with sobs; her emotions had reached their peak.

Leng Mohan still didn’t speak. He just stood there quietly, as if the whole world was irrelevant to him. His silence made Liang Yin even angrier and more heartbroken, but she also understood that no matter what she said, Leng Mohan wouldn’t turn back.

Leng Mohan, his name was like the man himself—cold and deep. His words were like the winter wind, cold and direct.

“You like me, so I should respond?” he asked calmly, his deep eyes devoid of warmth.

“If I responded to everyone who likes me, I wouldn’t have enough time in a day. I didn’t ask you to like me, and I must tell you, I don’t like you.”

He paused, then continued, “My wife, she’s not a country girl, and even if she were, I would only love her.” With that, he turned and left, leaving behind the silence and Liang Yin’s astonished gaze.

Liang Yin bit her lip, her eyes flashing with resentment. “Leng Mohan, you’ll regret this.”

She muttered softly, her voice filled with determination. However, Leng Mohan was already far away, his words and figure like a cold wind—cruel and resolute.

Leng Mohan didn’t even look at her after hearing this, as if he didn’t take it to heart. However, when he turned to look at Liang Yin, a serious and earnest light flickered in his eyes.

He said softly but firmly, “I hope you understand that if you dare to hurt my wife, I will never let you off easily.”
