Chapter 057: Extra 03
On the eighth day of the Lunar New Year during his first university winter break, Ji Wenchen met his girlfriend’s mother.
Not long after, Father Ji had a meal with Mother and Father Qin, marking the formal introduction of the two families.
After finishing the meal and returning home with Ji Hui, Feng Xiuling went to her daughter’s room to have a conversation with her.
Feng Xiuling asked a couple of questions about her studies before saying, “Xiaoxiao, what plans do you have for the future?”
“I might pursue graduate studies, or I might just find a job teaching at a middle school after finishing my undergraduate degree,” Qin Xiaoxiao replied, assuming her mother was asking about her academic and career plans.
“Hmm… and you and Wenchen…”
Qin Xiaoxiao smiled slightly. “We’re doing pretty well. Things are going great between us.”
“So… have you decided that he’s the one?”
“Hmm?” Qin Xiaoxiao looked at her mother.
Feng Xiuling took her daughter’s hand gently and gave it an affectionate squeeze. “Today, your father and I had a meal with Wenchen’s father. He hinted at the idea of you two… getting engaged, testing our thoughts on it.”
Qin Xiaoxiao felt a little embarrassed. “Isn’t it too early for that…”
“Hmm,” Feng Xiuling replied softly, “that’s what your father and I think as well.”
…
The Qin family thought it was too early, while the Ji family—grandfather, father, and grandson—felt it was too late.
During the summer break of Qin Xiaoxiao and Ji Wenchen’s third year of university, the two got engaged.
After the engagement banquet, Qin Xiaoxiao stayed home for a few days before returning to school to begin her graduation experiments ahead of schedule.
Ji Wenchen went back with her.
“Won’t you stay in Guangjian to handle the company’s affairs?” Qin Xiaoxiao asked him.
“Most of it can be handled remotely. Besides,” Ji Wenchen looked at her, “I’m not comfortable leaving my fiancée alone at school.”
“…There’s a classmate staying in the dorm with me,” she replied.
“We’re not staying in the dorm,” Ji Wenchen said as he took out a set of keys and handed her one. “We’ll live off-campus.”
Qin Xiaoxiao was slightly stunned as she accepted the key. “…” When did he rent a place near the school?
She had assumed Ji Wenchen had rented an apartment, but it turned out he had bought one—a brand-new, fully furnished three-bedroom, two-living-room unit.
The apartment complex was just a fifteen-minute walk from X University, with professional security and convenient transportation.
And so, Qin Xiaoxiao and Ji Wenchen began their cohabitation.
Yes… in the truest sense of the word.
Although the apartment had three bedrooms, after one particular night when Ji Wenchen took the initiative to climb into Qin Xiaoxiao’s bed, he never looked back and refused to sleep alone again.
***
In the first semester of her senior year, Qin Xiaoxiao’s program had no scheduled courses.
Having completed her graduation experiments and thesis early, Qin Xiaoxiao decided to take on an internship.
Ji Wenchen tried to persuade his fiancée not to work so hard by personally going to the internship, suggesting that he could simply handle the paperwork and finalize the internship materials for her.
He failed to convince her.
Unable to endure the loneliness of sleeping alone, Ji Wenchen brought his unfinished graduation thesis and shamelessly followed Qin Xiaoxiao to her assigned small dorm for her internship, squeezing into her modest single room.
Qin Xiaoxiao, a bit helpless, asked him, “Can you get used to living in such a cramped little place?”
“Not really,” Ji Wenchen admitted honestly after spending one night there. The bed was too narrow and small, making it hard to move around.
Qin Xiaoxiao put on her coat. “You should go back to school.”
“No, I don’t want to live alone,” Ji Wenchen said, grasping her slender wrist by the bedside.
Compared to the cramped and simple environment, it was the absence of her that he found truly unbearable.
“Then you…”
“I’ll find an apartment nearby,” Ji Wenchen said, standing up shirtless and planting a kiss on her forehead. “We’ll live there while you’re doing your internship.”
Qin Xiaoxiao quickly looked up at him. “Don’t buy a house here. It’s a waste.”
“Okay.” Ji Wenchen tilted his head closer, his lips brushing lightly against her temple. “I’ll listen to my wife—just rent, not buy.”
Qin Xiaoxiao’s face grew slightly warm as she tried to free herself from his grasp. “Who’s your wife… mm… ah…”
His lips silenced her words, his tongue parting her teeth.
Qin Xiaoxiao’s breathing became uneven, her ability to think crumbling into pieces.
Her slender waist quickly softened…
Her body was turned in another direction and pressed down onto the soft bedding that hadn’t been tidied up since the previous night.
As her awareness returned slightly, Qin Xiaoxiao opened her eyes. Clenching her hand into a fist, she hit his warm, firm chest.
His unruly lips and tongue finally released her.
Yet his warm breath still lingered over her philtrum and lips.
Qin Xiaoxiao’s eyelashes trembled lightly as she turned her face away. “Stop messing around. It’s time to get up.”
She wasn’t aware of how enticing her expression was at that moment, nor how her voice carried a soft, silken allure.
Ji Wenchen’s narrow phoenix eyes darkened slightly. “Not getting up. It’s still early.” He lowered his head again to kiss her, this time even more urgent and passionate than before.
His clean, beautiful hands lifted her sweater and T-shirt, slipping underneath to caress and explore…
As they neared the peak of ecstasy, Ji Wenchen continued to press intermittent kisses on Qin Xiaoxiao’s lips, murmuring, “Xiaoxiao… my love…”
Qin Xiaoxiao’s soft hums and sighs didn’t cease, leaving her unable to focus enough to respond to him.
“Xiaoxiao…”
Ji Wenchen called her name again, his movements slowing down, his voice deep and magnetic.
Caught in a state of neither here nor there, Qin Xiaoxiao felt a bit uncomfortable and bit her lip, letting out a soft “Mm.”
How strange… Normally, he rarely called her by her name, but in moments like this, he always insisted on getting a response from her…
After an intense round came to an end, Qin Xiaoxiao turned to her side, letting him hold her.
Within two minutes, his hands started to wander again.
“No…” Qin Xiaoxiao weakly pressed down on his hand, reaching out with her other hand to grab his phone from the bedside table and glanced at the time.
They had already wasted over thirty minutes…
“One more time, hmm?”
“I really can’t…” Qin Xiaoxiao tried to get up. “If we don’t get up now, we’ll be late today…”
Ji Wenchen knew just how serious she was about her work, even if it was just an internship at a small company.
“I’ll let you go for now, but tonight—”
“Shut up.” Qin Xiaoxiao cut him off, speaking to him with increasing bluntness these days.
However, to Ji Wenchen, her tone still lacked any real fierceness or authority.
He took the initiative to fasten her bra for her and even intended to help her put on the rest of her clothes.
“I’ll do it myself.” Qin Xiaoxiao grabbed the small, thin piece of fabric and, with composure, put it on.
She quickly tidied up her outfit, ran her fingers through her silky black hair—rarely tangled—then turned her head, using her teeth to tug the elastic band off her wrist and tying her hair up in a few swift motions.
Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed that he was still lying there, his phoenix eyes watching her, his chest exposed. Beneath the thin blanket, there was something moving at his waist… Qin Xiaoxiao quickly turned her face away, feeling it grow warm again, and rushed off to wash up.
***
In the second semester of their senior year, Qin Xiaoxiao and Ji Wenchen successfully completed their thesis defenses one after the other.
On Qin Xiaoxiao’s 22nd birthday, Ji Wenchen fulfilled his wish of becoming her husband.
Due to her excellent academic performance and achievements, Qin Xiaoxiao earned a recommendation for graduate studies.
She successfully passed the reexamination and continued to pursue further studies.
Ji Wenchen did not continue with his education but instead took on more responsibilities in managing his family’s corporation.
The couple did not part ways.
Ji Wenchen followed Qin Xiaoxiao’s lead and lived near the university with her.
Perhaps it was because their days were filled with sweetness, and they hadn’t taken any measures to avoid pregnancy.
Just two months after Qin Xiaoxiao completed her thesis defense in her third year of graduate school, she discovered she was pregnant.
Ji Hui and Ji Kunxiong were overjoyed, each generously gifting Qin Xiaoxiao presents worth millions.
Of course, the happiest of all upon hearing the news of Qin Xiaoxiao’s pregnancy was Ji Wenchen.
He reduced his workload significantly, spending over eighteen hours a day with Qin Xiaoxiao throughout her pregnancy and postpartum recovery—nearly a full year.
Later, it was Qin Xiaoxiao who finally urged Ji Wenchen to return to the company.
Only then did he resume the working hours expected of a CEO.
***
When Ji Chenting turned four, he had to say goodbye to sleeping with his mom.
He wasn’t happy about it at all.
Ji Chenting loved snuggling in his mom’s soft, fragrant embrace.
But his dad said he was big enough now and needed to sleep on his own.
“Clearly, my classmates and even the older kids in the big class still sleep in the same bed with their mom and dad,” Ji Chenting said clearly. “I don’t have to sleep with you, but I want to sleep with Mom.”
Ji Wenchen, sitting on the sofa, glanced at the child who looked 60% like himself and said, “If you want to be a little man, you’ll sleep on your own. Otherwise, you’re not…”
“I don’t want to be a little man anymore. I want to sleep with Mom,” Ji Chenting replied crisply without hesitation.
“…..” Ji Wenchen had come home early that afternoon and, taking advantage of the fact that Qin Xiaoxiao hadn’t yet returned from school, deliberately brought the child in for a private “discussion.”
He hadn’t expected this little guy to be so unpredictable.
“And I’m only four years old; compared to Dad, I’m not big at all. Doesn’t Dad also sleep with Mom all the time?” Ji Chenting said while playing with his chubby little fingers.
“Dad is Dad, and you are you,” Ji Wenchen leaned back against the soft sofa, spreading his hands casually. “When you’re as big as me, you can also—”
“Chenchen?”
The partially closed study door was pushed open, and a graceful woman walked in.
“Mom!” Ji Chenting ran over with little steps, hugging Qin Xiaoxiao’s leg. “Dad was telling me about—”
“Ahem, Ji Chenting, you can go downstairs and have some ice cream now.”
Qin Xiaoxiao cast a slightly suspicious glance at her husband and then looked down, gently asking her son, “Chenchen, what were you about to say just now?”
“Dad was talking about—”
“Not going? Then no ice cream today or tomorrow,” Ji Wenchen interrupted swiftly.
“I want ice cream!” Ji Chenting dashed out like a little cannonball.
Qin Xiaoxiao raised her eyebrows slightly and walked toward the sofa. “Why did you come back so early today?”
“Nothing much going on, so I came back,” Ji Wenchen replied, pulling his wife into his arms.
Qin Xiaoxiao was pulled onto his lap, her hand bracing against his chest. She didn’t forget the earlier matter. “What were you talking about with Chenchen?”
“I told him,” Ji Wenchen lightly hooked his wife’s smooth chin, “to study hard.”
“I don’t beli—mm… hmm…”
Her unfinished words were silenced by his domineering lips and tongue.
After a while, when her slightly dizzy head regained the ability to form words, Qin Xiaoxiao said irritably, “The door isn’t even closed. What if Chenchen…”
“He’s busy eating ice cream; he won’t have time to come up.”
It would have been fine if he hadn’t mentioned it, but once he did, Qin Xiaoxiao remembered again. “You were acting all secretive earlier—what exactly were you saying to Chenchen?”
Seeing his lips about to press down again, Qin Xiaoxiao raised her hand to block his mouth with her palm and turned her face away. “Not this trick again.”
Ji Wenchen’s phoenix eyes flickered as he reached up to gently move her soft hand aside. “You want to know?”
“Mm… ah—”
Qin Xiaoxiao was carried by Ji Wenchen as he walked all the way to the bedroom.
Ji Wenchen lifted his foot to close the door and took a few steps to the edge of the bed.
Gently placing the beauty in his arms onto the soft, large bed, he propped one hand by the right side of her face, his pale lips curving into a slight smile. “Indulge me first, hmm?”
“No…” Qin Xiaoxiao turned onto her side, attempting to escape to the left.
Ji Wenchen’s other hand wrapped around her slender waist, easily turning her onto her back. His long legs, with little effort, pinned down her lower body. “Where do you think you’re going?”
“You… it’s almost dinnertime,” Qin Xiaoxiao stammered.
“Mm.” Ji Wenchen leaned closer, his warm breath tickling her ear as she turned her face to the side. “No wonder I feel hungry…” he murmured, taking her jade-like earlobe into his mouth.
His upper body pressed against hers, moving in seamless friction.
“You… hurry up,” Qin Xiaoxiao urged.
“That’s a bit difficult,” he replied, his deep, husky voice carrying a hint of amusement and nine parts intoxication.
Afterward, Qin Xiaoxiao reminded him with a slightly hoarse voice, “Hurry up and tell me.”
Ji Wenchen’s hand, which had been gently stroking hers, paused almost imperceptibly. His wife’s sharp memory and insistence on details could be a bit troublesome at times…
“It’s nothing, I haven’t succeeded yet,” Ji Wenchen said, his nose brushing against her silky hair. “You’ll know once I do.”
“Then I’ll go ask Chenchen,” Qin Xiaoxiao said, trying to pull his hand away.
Ji Wenchen tightened his hold around her slender waist. “He wouldn’t dare.” Unless that little guy no longer wanted to eat ice cream or desserts in the future.
Qin Xiaoxiao, not very pleased, lightly punched his forearm.
“One more time?” Ji Wenchen whispered seductively.
“No…”
“Mom!” Bang bang—accompanied by the sound of knocking, Ji Chenting’s voice came from outside the door. “Mom, it’s time for dinner!”
The rising intimacy in the room was abruptly interrupted…
That little rascal… With his eyes closed, Ji Wenchen worked to calm himself, secretly deciding to send him off to Grandpa’s place in a couple of days.
