In the past two days since returning, Yan Junyi had spent hours staring at an old photo on his phone. The image was a bit blurry with age, but it was still clear enough to make out the two people in it—himself, and of course, Su Yaya.
Sister Wu had been his agent for several years, so she knew exactly why he was acting so out of character. It was obvious—Yan Junyi liked Su Yaya!
She sighed inwardly. Yan Junyi was nearly perfect: handsome, talented, and a savvy businessman. But he lacked relationship experience. And now, after finally finding someone he liked, that person was someone he couldn’t be with. It wasn’t about their status or fame in the entertainment industry; it was because of the powerful figure backing Su Yaya.
That’s why Sister Wu had warned him. No matter how much he liked Su Yaya, he had to keep his distance. She wasn’t someone he could pursue.
Unless…
Sister Wu quickly shook her head, dismissing the thought. As long as Su Yaya was connected to President Shen, they couldn’t afford to get involved and once she wasn’t associated with him anymore, she would no longer be worthy of someone like Yan Junyi. He deserved better.
Yan Junyi understood that Sister Wu was advising him to stay away from Su Yaya for his own good. After a moment’s pause, he nodded and said, “I understand.”
The tide of public opinion on the internet had shifted. Comments that needed to be deleted were erased, accounts that needed to be banned were suspended, and the trending topics were pulled down. The key figures involved had all issued clarification statements. Even though there were still a few negative remarks like, “The more you delete, the guiltier you look,” those comments were quickly suppressed by Shen Xiuqi’s team, who would shut down the critics until they stopped entirely.
Taking advantage of the situation, Xinghui Entertainment also stepped in, issuing a statement that reserved the right to take legal action against anyone slandering Su Yaya.
Throughout it all, Su Yaya remained by Shen Xiuqi’s side. She couldn’t go anywhere, and her phone had been confiscated by him. Unaware that the public narrative was shifting in her favor, she had no idea things were taking a positive turn.
Assistant Chen knocked on the door and entered the room. He saw Su Yaya sitting on the sofa with a pencil and paper in hand, though he wasn’t sure what she was writing. With her presence, there were certain things he couldn’t discuss openly.
Shen Xiuqi shifted his gaze from the computer to Assistant Chen, his expression cold and unreadable. Clearly dissatisfied with the events of the day, he asked with a calm but stern face, “What is it?”
“These are the materials we gathered from the investigation. Please take a look,” Assistant Chen said, handing over the documents.
Shen Xiuqi flipped through the pages, which outlined how An Yuting had orchestrated a smear campaign against Su Yaya. The evidence was clear and thorough from beginning to end.
In fact, as soon as Shen Xiuqi found out that someone was spreading slander about Su Yaya online, he had already suspected An Yuting. He just hadn’t had the evidence at the time. Now that the facts were laid out before him, he felt deeply disappointed.
The once sweet girl who used to follow him around, calling him “Brother Xiuqi,” had turned into such a calculating and dangerous person.
Shen Xiuqi didn’t bother to read through the rest of the report. He handed it back to Assistant Chen, his expression icy. “Handle it as it should be handled. Since she wants to take someone else’s role, let her go home—and stay there. Make sure she doesn’t cause any more trouble.”
“…” Assistant Chen was momentarily stunned. Was Shen Xiuqi planning to block An Yuting’s career?
While others might not know the full story, Assistant Chen was well aware of the history between Shen Xiuqi and the An sisters, Yutong and Yuting. Shen Xiuqi had known them for many years, even setting aside his relationship with An Yutong, he had taken care of An Yuting, giving her plenty of prime opportunities in the past. But now, he intended to cut her off completely?
Assistant Chen couldn’t quite grasp where this was heading.
