Chapter 12: Sleeping with You
“I wasn’t playing games with you.”
Chu Ning glared at Fu Yuzhou, seizing the opportunity to snatch the blanket from his hands and wrap it around her revealing body.
If she hadn’t inexplicably ended up here, she wouldn’t be in such a predicament.
Watching Fu Yuzhou towering over her, his gaze filled with fascination, she felt inexplicably irritated.
“Turn around, or I’ll gouge out your eyes.”
She had loved Zhou Chenhao for five years, and he had never looked at her like that.
Fu Yuzhou was a stranger.
He was far too presumptuous.
“I wasn’t looking. You were the one who appeared on my bed in disarray.”
Fu Yuzhou quickly turned his back.
He found Chu Ning even more audacious and shameless than he had imagined.
“Where did you come from?”
Fu Yuzhou was genuinely curious about Chu Ning’s identity.
He was certain that there was no such person in Hongguang Village Brigade.
“From the future.”
Chu Ning blurted out the truth.
“From the future?”
Fu Yuzhou’s lips curled up in a sarcastic sneer.
“Nonsense! I’m telling you, you’re not getting away this time. No matter what, you have to give me an explanation. You…”
Before Fu Yuzhou could finish,
Chu Ning, wrapped in the blanket, rolled off the bed and ran towards the door.
That night, she escaped Fu Yuzhou and returned home.
During the day, she repeated the same action, but failed to return because Fu Yuzhou wasn’t there.
Now that he was back, there was a possibility of returning.
This was the thought running through Chu Ning’s mind.
“Stop right there!”
Realizing Chu Ning was trying to escape,
Fu Yuzhou swiftly chased after her.
Chu Ning dashed out the door.
Fu Yuzhou caught up and scooped her up, blanket and all, into his arms.
“Where do you think you’re going?”
Chu Ning, having failed to return and now held by Fu Yuzhou,
became furious and lashed out at him.
“Let go of me! Don’t touch me!”
Chu Ning just wanted to go back; she didn’t belong here.
She just wanted to return to where she belonged.
This was the militia camp dormitory area.
Chu Ning’s voice was loud.
A group of enthusiastic young men, soldiers, lived in the building.
Suddenly, a woman’s voice rang out in the dead of night.
Someone had been awakened.
“What woman is that?”
Someone in the room next to Fu Yuzhou’s had lit a candle and gotten up.
Seeing this, Fu Yuzhou carried Chu Ning towards the dormitory.
“Let me go, mm…”
Fu Yuzhou unceremoniously covered Chu Ning’s mouth with the blanket.
Chu Ning, wrapped in the blanket and with her mouth covered, was sweating profusely.
“Shut up! Do you want to wake up everyone in the militia camp?”
Chu Ning couldn’t care less; not wanting to be suffocated by Fu Yuzhou, she tore the blanket away.
“Are you trying to suffocate me?”
“Keep your voice down.”
“I want to go out! Let me go!”
Chu Ning was truly panicked.
The last time she had traveled through time, she returned immediately.
This time, it had been almost a day.
She couldn’t miss this last chance.
Fu Yuzhou was practically going crazy.
He, a model young man, was suddenly harassed by a woman of unknown origin.
She appeared in his dormitory in the middle of the night.
If the militia camp found out, the Hongguang Brigade Commune would explode tomorrow.
He held Chu Ning tightly, threw her onto the bed, and pressed down on her restless legs. “Behave yourself. If you tell me what I want to know, I’ll let you go.”
Fu Yuzhou warned Chu Ning in a cold voice.
He couldn’t figure out Chu Ning’s background, but his intuition told him that this woman was dangerous.
She was downright toxic!
“Company Commander, are you asleep?”
Someone was already at the door.
He carried an oil lamp, and in the dim light, a blurry figure in a coat was barely visible.
“Yes, what is it?”
“I heard a woman’s scream just now. It seemed… it seemed to be coming from your room.”
Fu Yuzhou quickly denied, “No, nothing like that.”
“No?”
The man was stunned by Fu Yuzhou’s words.
“I clearly heard it.”
“You must have heard wrong. It wasn’t a woman, it was a wildcat. I went out today and left the door unlocked, and a wildcat got in. I threw it out just now, maybe it hurt itself.”
As he said this, Fu Yuzhou’s deep, dark eyes were fixed on Chu Ning’s face.
His large hand tightly covered Chu Ning’s mouth, afraid she would make a sound.
Chu Ning glared at Fu Yuzhou, unhappy with his words.
A wildcat?
He actually called her a wildcat?
Bastard!
Fu Yuzhou seemed to understand Chu Ning and knew she was unhappy with his words.
He glared back at her defiantly.
He whispered, “Aren’t you?”
In Fu Yuzhou’s eyes, Chu Ning was a wildcat.
Disobedient, restless, and sharp-tongued.
“You… mm…”
Chu Ning’s protesting sound was stifled by Fu Yuzhou.
“I see. Then I won’t disturb the Company Commander’s sleep. Get some rest.”
The man outside had left.
Fu Yuzhou’s tense nerves relaxed.
Suddenly, Chu Ning took the opportunity to bite Fu Yuzhou’s hand.
“You… hiss…”
Fu Yuzhou knew his soldiers were outside and was afraid they would discover Chu Ning.
He could only grit his teeth and swallow all the pain.
His dark eyes flashed with cold light as he glared at Chu Ning, as if he wanted to stare a hole through her.
Chu Ning, taking advantage of Fu Yuzhou’s fear of exposing her,
unceremoniously pushed him away.
“Get up, you’re crushing me.”
Fu Yuzhou gritted his teeth and warned, “Try saying another word.”
His icy gaze seemed to say that if she shouted again, he would really crush her.
Chu Ning was no pushover.
She could tolerate being bullied by Zhou Chenhao,
but she wouldn’t tolerate Fu Yuzhou’s arrogance.
“Try bullying me again.”
Fu Yuzhou, a high-ranking official’s son, had been spoiled since childhood.
This had allowed him to develop an unrestrained and undisciplined personality.
He had defied his parents’ wishes and arranged marriage to pursue a free marriage.
Then, he was sent by his father to the countryside and became a rural intellectual youth cadre in the Hongguang Brigade.
However, his identity ensured that he was respected.
Of course, his conduct and character were worthy of the respect he received.
Everyone in the Hongguang Brigade would give him face.
Unexpectedly, this Chu Ning was so unrestrained in front of him.
And she dared to provoke him?
Fu Yuzhou found it amusing and admired Chu Ning’s courage.
She wasn’t afraid of death, but he was.
Fu Yuzhou could only back down.
But he didn’t know that Chu Ning was pushing her luck.
Another thought arose in her mind.
To go back, she decided to be completely shameless.
She simply removed the blanket from her body.
This, in turn, startled Fu Yuzhou.
A fleeting look of panic flashed in his dark eyes.
“What are you doing?”
Chu Ning suddenly wrapped her arms around Fu Yuzhou’s neck.
“Sleeping with you.”
Chu Ning uttered these four words slowly and deliberately.
Her meaningful gaze locked onto Fu Yuzhou’s astonished eyes.
“Aren’t you doing this so no one discovers me?”
Then, her red lips slowly approached Fu Yuzhou’s.
