Chapter 29: Don’t Touch Me

The air seemed to freeze the moment their eyes met. They stared at each other intently.

Chu Ning wore a light pink Chinese-style dress suit, the neckline slightly open, revealing the fair skin beneath the black lace trim. The graceful curve of her body was subtly outlined, shining brilliantly before Fu Yuzhou.

Her hands hung stiffly in the air, unsure of what to do.

Fu Yuzhou was supervising the soldiers writing their self-criticisms in the training ground because of the incident where the soldiers asked Chu Zhiqing to write them.

Under the scorching sun, he was sweating profusely, his camouflage uniform soaked through.

He wanted to take a cold shower and then go to the canteen for dinner when he suddenly saw Chu Ning, dressed in what he considered strange clothing, appear in the dormitory. His breath hitched.

Unintentionally, his gaze fell upon what he shouldn’t have looked at, and his throat suddenly tightened.

The sound of his Adam’s apple bobbing made Chu Ning react. She quickly covered her neckline.

“Shameless, Fu Yuzhou, where are you looking?”

Snapping back to reality, Fu Yuzhou swallowed, avoiding Chu Ning’s gaze. “You’re overthinking it. I didn’t see anything.”

“How is that possible?”

Chu Ning wanted to argue with Fu Yuzhou.

Fu Yuzhou bluntly retorted, “I’m not clairvoyant, and besides, didn’t you deliberately open your collar to show me?”

Her unexpectedly open neckline appearing in his dormitory made Fu Yuzhou think she had done it on purpose.

Chu Ning felt utterly wronged and could only gasp for breath.

“Why are you here again?”

Suddenly, Fu Yuzhou asked Chu Ning.

Wang Fengxian had said that Chu Ning was engaged and would be going back to marry her fiancé.

Chu Ning rolled her eyes at Fu Yuzhou. “Do you think I want to be here? I can’t stand your icy face. If I had a choice, I wouldn’t come.”

Fu Yuzhou said frankly, “Then hurry up and find a way to go back. Don’t keep your fiancé waiting.”

Remembering Chu Ning’s previous attempts to seduce him to find her way back, Fu Yuzhou felt a pang of bitterness in his heart.

“You’ve already tested it. Seducing me won’t get you back. So, with your husband-to-be, don’t even think about using me.”

Fu Yuzhou repeatedly reminded Chu Ning about her fiancé and her future in-laws, seemingly showing his disdain for her.

Only he knew how much pain he felt after learning about her engagement; it was like swallowing a fly.

It was like a thorn in his heart, impossible to remove.

Chu Ning was surprised that Fu Yuzhou knew about her engagement. Her eyes widened in curiosity. “How did you know I have a fiancé?”

Fu Yuzhou turned around, poured a glass of water, and gulped it down.

“It was practically announced to the whole world. How could I not know?”

Chu Ning hadn’t told anyone about her fiancé. Hearing Fu Yuzhou’s words, she suddenly remembered Chu Zhiqing’s question.

She breathed a sigh of relief. “Did Chu Zhiqing tell you?”

“I have training duties. Don’t bother me. Leave now.”

After Chu Ning left, Fu Yuzhou missed her every day. However, because of her fiancé, he couldn’t bring himself to do anything.

In a moment of impulsiveness, he issued the order to leave.

Chu Ning didn’t want to bother Fu Yuzhou, but thinking of Zhou Chenhao, who was like an enraged beast waiting for her return, she cowered.

“Go train your soldiers. I won’t bother you. I’m a little tired. Let me rest for a while, and I’ll go back later.”

Chu Ning had decided to avoid provoking Fu Yuzhou and getting kicked out. She had to coexist peacefully with him for now.

She planned to have a big fight with Fu Yuzhou later before going back.

The moment he finished speaking, Fu Yuzhou strode towards Chu Ning, his long legs closing the distance, and he embraced her soft body.

“Or, having a fiancé, you repeatedly come to see me because you like me? Deliberately appearing disheveled in front of me, wanting to be my woman?”

She had just escaped from the jaws of death and absolutely couldn’t be eaten by this wolf!

Fu Yuzhou was just trying to scare Chu Ning; he had no intention of actually doing anything to her.

He admitted he had no resistance to Chu Ning, but since she had told him that she had seduced him to find her way back, he had become wary of her.

Knowing she had a fiancé, nothing could happen between them.

Naturally, he couldn’t do anything to her.

Hearing Chu Ning’s protest, he suddenly let go of her.

“I’m a man, I have needs. Don’t try to test my patience.”

Fu Yuzhou distanced himself from Chu Ning, his eyes dark as he warned her.

“And, you’re not my woman. Don’t just order me around, asking me to pour water for you. I don’t have time. I’m going to shower.”

Saying that, Fu Yuzhou, in a fit of pique, began to undress in front of Chu Ning.

“Fu Yuzhou, you’re shameless.”

Chu Ning quickly covered her eyes with her hands.

However, the view of her neckline was directly exposed to Fu Yuzhou.

Chu Ning’s Chinese-style long-sleeved shirt had two buttons undone by Zhou Chenhao.

The position was right at her chest.

She was wearing a lace-covered bra underneath.

The sheer design subtly outlined her graceful curves, adding a sense of mystery.

Fu Yuzhou had seen it and touched it.

He knew how beautiful Chu Ning’s body was.

Perhaps this type of clothing was uncommon in the old days.

“I’m shameless? The truly shameless one is you.”

Fu Yuzhou almost growled, his voice low and suppressed.
