Chapter 34: I’m Not a Good Person
What would it feel like for her soft body to be held by his strong arms?
Definitely wild, seductive, and thrilling!
At this thought, Chu Ning’s cheeks flushed crimson.
Fu Yuzhou was facing away from Chu Ning, but the mirror opposite reflected Chu Ning’s blushing face as she looked at his back.
He didn’t need to ask to know what was going on in this woman’s mind.
A married woman, actually fantasizing about his body?
Fu Yuzhou was both annoyed and angry. He said gruffly, “Hurry up and apply the medicine.”
“I will, and I’ll make sure to apply it properly,”
Chu Ning pulled herself together, gritting her teeth as she said this. She opened the medical kit and began to apply the medicine to Fu Yuzhou’s wound.
However, she wasn’t one to be trifled with. Knowing Fu Yuzhou was being deliberate, she used the iodine-soaked cotton to press firmly on his wound, retaliating for his earlier teasing.
She also didn’t miss the opportunity to provoke him. “I heard that Battalion Commander Fu is an iron man of the militia, the type who doesn’t shed tears even when bleeding. If you can’t take it, you can yell. I promise not to laugh at you, and certainly not tell your men.”
Fu Yuzhou remained silent, gritting his teeth to prevent a sound from escaping. He knew Chu Ning was making fun of him, but he refused to let her succeed.
Seeing that Fu Yuzhou didn’t make a sound, Chu Ning pressed harder.
“Were you doing that on purpose?”
Fu Yuzhou suddenly turned around, meeting Chu Ning’s gaze.
The unexpected sight made Chu Ning shrink back, her face innocent. “I wasn’t.”
“Weren’t you?”
Fu Yuzhou moved closer, his large hand clamping down on her neck, preventing her escape.
“Really not.”
Chu Ning offered a harmless explanation.
Suddenly, Fu Yuzhou pecked her lips. “If you don’t tell me, I’ll keep kissing you until you do.”
Fu Yuzhou found himself uncontrollably attracted to Chu Ning. Every time he felt his desires overwhelming him, he would stop himself at the last minute.
He constantly reminded himself that Chu Ning was engaged. Regardless of her feelings, he had to respect her.
He absolutely couldn’t cross that line.
However, every time she teased him, he couldn’t help but want to do something to her.
Like now, seeing her luscious lips and her clever, playful expression, he couldn’t resist kissing her.
To completely conquer her!
Chu Ning was intimidated by Fu Yuzhou’s intense gaze and quickly surrendered. “Okay, I admit I did it on purpose just now. I won’t do it again. Quickly let go of me, or your men will come looking for you.”
Seeing Chu Ning’s compliance, Fu Yuzhou released her and sat back down, looking serious.
Chu Ning treated Fu Yuzhou’s wound again. This time, she was truly obedient.
Carefully tending to his wound, her mind returned to the matter at hand.
“Arrange a room for me, Fu Yuzhou. I can’t guarantee when I’ll time-travel back again.
If you arrange a room for me, I’ll go there as soon as I come back, avoiding a repeat of today’s incident.
I really don’t want Chu Zhiqing to misunderstand me, or for you to think I’m shameless and unprincipled. I’m not as bad as you say.
I had a marriage contract, but that doesn’t mean I have no principles. I have my own bottom lines.”
Chu Ning almost blurted out that he was the first man she had ever kissed and held.
But she felt that such words would be pointless to Fu Yuzhou, who already had someone he liked, so she kept it to herself.
Fu Yuzhou was clearly taken aback by Chu Ning’s words, and then, with a hint of disbelief, he smirked. “You have bottom lines and principles?”
He seemed agitated, grabbing his military coat and putting it on. He stood up, looking down at Chu Ning.
“What right do you have to make demands of me? Chu Ning, this is my territory; you have no right to make demands.”
Asking him to arrange a room for her?
She really thought highly of herself!
Chu Ning was self-aware. “I know, but I’m also doing it for your sake, to avoid gossip and protect your relationship with Chu Zhiqing.”
Today’s events made Chu Ning realize that the discipline committee member seemed to have a grudge against Fu Yuzhou.
The words spoken during the “caught in the act” incident were barbed and cutting, and now the entire brigade knew she was Fu Yuzhou’s cousin, Fu Chen.
If they discovered she was an imposter and a woman, they would definitely make a big deal out of it.
It would definitely affect Fu Yuzhou’s relationship with Chu Zhiqing.
Moreover, Fu Yuzhou himself had said he would apply for a marriage review with the Chen brigade commander.
It was clear that Chu Zhiqing and Fu Yuzhou were about to get married.
If she unexpectedly time-traveled again in the future and didn’t have a separate place to stay, being alone with Fu Yuzhou would definitely lead to misunderstandings with Chu Zhiqing.
She was doing it all for Fu Yuzhou and Chu Zhiqing’s relationship, so why wasn’t Fu Yuzhou appreciative?
Fu Yuzhou didn’t believe Chu Ning was so kind. “Is it for my sake, or yours?”
Fu Yuzhou stubbornly believed that Chu Ning was trying to distance herself from him for her fiancĂ©’s sake!
Chu Ning didn’t want to deal with Fu Yuzhou anymore. “Whatever you think, you have to arrange a room for me, otherwise, I’ll go to the deputy commander, Chen Mo. He seems very concerned about my situation.”
Fu Yuzhou hit the nail on the head. “Concerned about you? I think you’re getting too into character. Chen Mo is being nice to you because of me, thinking you’re my cousin, Fu Chen.
If I tell them you’re not Fu Chen, but a shameless woman, how do you think they’ll treat you?”
Chu Ning pressed on Fu Yuzhou’s wound in displeasure. “Fine, go ahead and tell the whole brigade that I’m a woman.
Anyway, I’m leaving sooner or later, and it’ll be your reputation that’s ruined.”
Fu Yuzhou always felt that Chu Ning was an irresponsible woman. She would tease him, kiss him, and then leave without a word.
The next time she came back, she would still act carefree and unconcerned.
Such a woman wouldn’t care about the consequences of her actions, so saying such irresponsible things was to be expected.
He didn’t want to waste his breath on her, so he warned her, “Don’t try to provoke me. I’m not a good person. I love doing things that leave no trace.”
“I’m so scared, terrified.”
Chu Ning had time-traveled three times and had already figured out Fu Yuzhou, knowing that he wasn’t as bad as he claimed.
Chu Ning threw away the cotton ball and tossed the medical kit to Fu Yuzhou to clean up.
She sat to the side, ignoring Fu Yuzhou.
Chu Ning’s rare quietness made her seem surprisingly docile.
Fu Yuzhou found himself both amused and exasperated.
The rebellious Chu Ning repeatedly provoked him.
But he always found himself unable to be harsh with her, repeatedly falling under her spell.
He ended up saying something he didn’t mean, “I’ll consider the room.”
