Chapter 11: A Large-Scale Medical Examination**
Early the next morning, when Su Mei arrived at the hospital, she was shocked to see her daughter, who had two huge dark circles under her eyes.
This frightened Su Mei.
Her daughter Yi Yi had always been carefree, eating and sleeping well, and never had dark circles before.
“Yi Yi, are you okay? Is something wrong? Why do your eyes look like this? I’ll call a doctor!”
Su Mei, feeling heartbroken, touched Meng Yitong’s dark circles but was still worried.
Before Meng Yitong could speak, her mother had already dashed off.
Helpless, Meng Yitong could only wash up in the bathroom. When she looked up and saw her reflection in the mirror, she was also shocked by the huge dark circles under her eyes.
Maybe because the original owner had exceptionally fair and translucent skin, even a small imperfection was obvious, not to mention the two giant dark circles.
After washing up, Meng Yitong took the time to do some skincare.
After all, such flawless skin was something the original owner had worked hard to maintain. If she ruined it, she would be letting the original owner down.
Moreover, who didn’t have a love for beauty?
Meng Yitong also wished she could be a stunning beauty with perfect skin. But being an orphan, she had never had the opportunity before.
When Meng Yitong finished getting ready and walked out of the bathroom, she was immediately startled by the scene in her hospital room.
What was going on? Why were there so many doctors standing in her room?
And why were they all looking at her so seriously?
Meng Yitong felt tense under the doctors’ gazes. The doctors, on the other hand, were also tense looking at her.
Yesterday, when Meng Yitong had been brought in, her condition had been terrible. She had suffered a severe concussion and had obvious intracranial bleeding.
When they were finalizing the surgical plan, the bleeding in her brain had mysteriously disappeared, and by the afternoon, she had naturally regained consciousness.
Although it was strange, they didn’t find it too unbelievable, because the brain was the most mysterious organ in the body, and anything could happen.
The reason they were being so cautious today was because the patient’s family had mentioned swelling and discoloration around her face.
They were worried that the intracranial bleeding might have started again, which is why they had come so seriously.
If it weren’t for the patient’s mother blocking the door, they might have rushed into the bathroom.
Now that they saw the patient’s complexion, they realized that something was wrong. The color around her eyes was much darker, and it looked quite severe.
The doctors couldn’t determine the cause of this situation, so they all looked toward the director sitting in the chair.
The director’s expression was also serious. After a moment of contemplation, the director still said cautiously, “Let’s do another MRI. Xiao Li, take her and get a slot for the scan!”
Confused, Meng Yitong was forcibly moved onto an emergency bed. No matter how much she struggled or insisted that she could walk, the nurse still insisted on putting her on the bed.
After struggling in vain, Meng Yitong was pushed into the MRI room by the nurse and a young doctor, where she underwent another MRI scan.
After completing another full-body check, Meng Yitong finally learned the reason for her ordeal when she returned to the hospital room. It was all because of her two dark circles.
After learning the reason, Meng Yitong immediately felt like everything was wrong. Was this necessary? Her two dark circles were just a little bigger and more noticeable—did it really need this big a fuss?
Su Mei, seeing her daughter’s angry face, also felt embarrassed. She had only exaggerated her daughter’s condition to get the doctors’ attention.
Who knew it would bring in so many doctors?
And these doctors truly lacked common sense. Couldn’t they tell it was just dark circles? Couldn’t they see it too?
They even made her daughter do another MRI. Who knew whether this was harmful to her body?
Su Mei thought about it more and became increasingly frustrated.
As an idea flashed in her mind, Su Mei quickly warned, “Yi Yi, these tests are harmful to the body. After you marry into the Qin family, don’t rush to get pregnant. At least wait for six months, let the radiation dissipate before having a child, understand? You’re still young, so there’s no need to rush.”
Meng Yitong couldn’t help but roll her eyes at Su Mei’s words. She secretly mocked, You’re thinking too nicely. As per last night’s dream, I’ll be married to Qin Zhuoran for two years and he won’t even touch me.
Although Meng Yitong wasn’t sure if last night’s dream was a preview of her future, that didn’t stop her from speculating the worst about her future life.
“I’m serious! Are you listening?” Su Mei said when she saw Meng Yitong still lost in thought.
“I’m listening, I’m listening,” Meng Yitong replied dismissively. She knew Su Mei was just looking out for her, but it was a bit too overly cautious.
Maybe Qin Zhuoran wasn’t that great after all?! After all, if his face could be ruined, who knew what small tricks could be played with other parts of him?
