Chapter 4: They’ve Given Too Much

“I’m asking you, who called the police?” Old Master Meng shouted from the sofa.

“I did! What’s wrong with that? My daughter’s unconscious in the hospital. Why should the culprit go free? If he thinks he’s right, let the police decide!” Su Mei shouted back, not backing down.

She had been married to the Meng family for five years and only had one daughter, whom she cherished like a treasure. Who would have thought that today, just because she spoke out during an elder’s conversation, her daughter was pushed by that little beast and nearly lost her life? How could she accept that?

After Uncle Meng finished speaking, he did not receive any response and turned his gaze to the old master.

“Elder brother, did you hear what your younger brother said?”

Meng father paused and choked up as he replied, “Dad, Yi Yi woke up but still can’t speak…”

Aunt Meng, sitting beside him, furrowed her brows tighter as Meng father spoke more and more. She then subtly gave Uncle Meng a look.

Uncle Meng also understood that if Yi Yi’s injuries were this severe, this would be a criminal case. If elder brother didn’t withdraw the case, Gao Xuan would always have a stain on his record in the future.

So, as soon as Meng father finished, Uncle Meng decisively proposed, “Elder brother, how about this? If you agree to withdraw the case, I will transfer two villas in Huxin Mountain Manor to Yi Yi, and also give her 5 million in annual dividends. Does that sound acceptable?”

Meng father lowered his head without answering.

“Directly give her 5% of the shares,” Old Master Meng spoke up.

“Those shares will be given eventually,” Old Master Meng said, giving Uncle Meng and Aunt Meng a deep look.

After finishing, Old Master Meng turned his attention to Meng father and Su Mei, continuing, “But I have one condition. Yi Yi must marry into the Qin family in place of Wan Wan.”

Meng Jianjun and Su Mei exchanged a glance and said nothing to refuse.
