The Mysterious Apocalypse is Coming, Luckily I Have a Simulator Chapter 39

Chapter 39: I Get It, but I Don’t Like It…

“When we play games later, you boys should go easy on everyone else and not hurt the girls.”

The female class president organized the crowd and got the party games ready.

Su Ze walked straight up and signed in.

“Tsk tsk, Su Ze, you really are blessed with the ladies.”

No one could figure out how the female class president managed to do two things at once.

She had been organizing activities just a moment ago.

She turned her head, grabbed Su Ze, and joked, “But you’d better watch yourself later; the boys from the accounting class are jealous of you and might go all out during the games, and it’s all because you stole their goddess Senior.”

“I’m not taking the blame for that.”

Su Ze chuckled and replied off-handedly.

After a bit more small talk with the female class president, Su Ze ended the conversation.

Only then did Su Ze look around and ask, “Where are Prince Xin and Sun Bin?”

Another classmate said, “Those two went outside to buy something a moment ago.”

The words had barely left his lips.

Su Ze immediately spotted Prince Xin and Sun Bin coming from the parking garage.

The two of them scampered back excitedly.

Their expressions alone showed they had just experienced something worth bragging about.

Sure enough.

As soon as Prince Xin rushed back, still out of breath, he blurted, “Damn, you guys won’t believe it, Sun Bin and I just ran into plain-clothes cops.”

Sun Bin gasped for air beside him, nodding vigorously, “Yeah, yeah, I’ve only seen it on TV before…”

Prince Xin continued, “It was literally a van full of men; the van stopped beside us, the door flew open, four or five burly guys jumped out, grabbed Sun Bin and me without a word, and shoved us into the van… luckily, after driving a short distance someone said they’d nabbed the wrong guys and tossed us back out.”

The group listened in stunned amazement.

No one expected TV dramas to be accurate, yet someone had really encountered this kind of thing.

Normally, Su Ze would not have believed Prince Xin’s talk about plain-clothes officers, nor would he have given it much thought.

But today was different.

Last night Su Ze himself had run into two burly men who appeared out of nowhere.

“Where exactly did they force you two into the van?”

Su Ze waited until Prince Xin had almost finished his animated tale before asking the question.

“Where else could it be? Right over by the garage; Sun Bin and I went out to buy something, figured you were parking there, planned to meet you and come up together, and that’s when everything happened…”

The garage, huh…

Su Ze’s face showed he was thinking.

While he was pondering, Qin Yushi walked over and headed straight for Su Ze.

“Su Ze, I want to fly a kite too, come with me,” Qin Yushi said with a charming smile, her pretty face drawing admiring glances.

“Mm-hmm,” Su Ze nodded, stood up, and left with Qin Yushi.

It looked as if Qin Yushi was moving toward the spot where Chen Keqing and her friends were.

Yet halfway there, Qin Yushi slowed, glancing around for a place where they could sit and talk alone.

Su Ze also slowed down and said, “Just pick any place to sit.”

Qin Yushi tilted her head and asked, “Can we stand?”

“Stand? Sure, but then we’d better pick a secluded shady corner of the park, because standing makes us stand out,” Su Ze joked.

“Ew…” Qin Yushi pouted, then giggled, “I’m not into doing it outdoors; I prefer something a bit more pure.”

Su Ze laughed softly and let it slide.

He followed Qin Yushi onto a slightly elevated platform, and leaning against the railing at the edge they could see half the park spread out below.

“Let me think where to start,” Qin Yushi mused seriously until her gaze landed on Chen Keqing not far away, “That pretty little sister flying a kite… is she your girlfriend?”

Su Ze fell silent, as if hesitating over how to answer.

“It’s fine, I’m very open-minded; if you want to keep a little one on the side, I don’t mind,” Qin Yushi tittered, her ample chest heaving and drawing every eye.

“Then you’re surprisingly nice,” Su Ze laughed.

“Of course, so you should show a little more tolerance for good people like me…”

While she was talking, Qin Yushi’s phone vibrated.

Someone had sent her a message, and she glanced at the screen as though casually.

『He really showed up…』

『That lunatic Bai Zhimao…』

Su Ze quietly listened in on Qin Yushi’s inner voice.

The name she mentioned…

Bai Zhimao.

Last night Su Ze had already caught the name from the two thugs’ thoughts; he must be a rich young lord whose family background was at least as strong as Qin Yushi’s.

“Take a look at this.”

Qin Yushi handed her phone to Su Ze.

A surveillance video was playing on the screen.

It showed Su Ze single-handedly beating up two burly men last night.

From the footage, Su Ze looked like a war god, effortlessly knocking both foes down.

In truth Su Ze was not that formidable; although he had taken boxing classes, he had not learned any real skill.

His graceful dispatch of the two attackers on video was entirely thanks to borrowing the Strength of Support God.

Freezing time enabled Su Ze to make every dodge and punch so precise and sharp.

“I never thought you were this strong…” Qin Yushi looked at Su Ze with genuine curiosity, “I always felt you were a once-in-a-million genius, and it seems my judgment was spot-on.”

He had built his fortune from scratch and amassed tens of millions before turning 20.

Qin Yushi already knew a little about those achievements of Su Ze’s.

That was why Qin Yushi had been somewhat interested in Su Ze.

After last night, Qin Yushi was even more intrigued.

“Just be straight with me, what’s the background of that big Young Master?” Su Ze asked with a faint smile.

“Ah, you guessed it?” Qin Yushi widened her eyes and, for once serious, explained, “He’s Bai Zhimao, the second young master of the Bai family; he sent those men last night, probably jealous after seeing you walk me home.”

“What’s your relationship with him?” Su Ze asked again.

“We don’t have much of a relationship yet, but if nothing unexpected happens the Bai family will propose next year, and then he’ll become my fiancé,” Qin Yushi said calmly.

“Then what right does he have to be jealous now?” Su Ze asked with a smile.

“Maybe it’s because my Charisma is too high? Ha, fine, maybe he’s just a bit crazy and overly possessive and thinks he’s sure to marry me.”

“I can understand that,” Su Ze replied with a faint smile, then looked at Qin Yushi and asked curiously, “So what do you think… will you get engaged to him next year?”

“Hmm… honestly, he’s good-looking and pretty capable within our circle, so on the surface he’s not unacceptable,” Qin Yushi said jokingly.

But Su Ze savored the voice inside her heart.

That answer was not entirely a joke.

Qin Yushi was, after all, a socialite who cared about a well-matched marriage.

No, it was more accurate to say she accepted the rules of marrying within one’s class.

Even though she herself did not habitually look down on others, the reality was that these top-tier rich people and the poor were almost reproductively isolated and could not mix.

“I could accept it, but I don’t really like it; if a man rode in on multicolored clouds and suddenly said he’d love me for life, I might go with him immediately,” Qin Yushi reverted to her nature and hinted at Su Ze again.

『How will he react…』

『Will he give up sensibly, or will he show real skill and prove his Charisma…』

Qin Yushi waited for Su Ze’s response.

She wanted not only to hear Su Ze’s verbal reply but also to see his actions.

By actions she obviously meant that Su Ze should prove his excellence and intelligence through concrete deeds.

He had to show that, even without their privileged birth, his abilities were enough to secure him a place… even a prominent one… in that elite circle.

Had this been before,

Qin Yushi would not have said such things to Su Ze.

Because she knew Su Ze had no interest in that kind of goal.

Yet last night Su Ze’s various actions seemed to show he was interested now.

That was a misunderstanding.

Su Ze could understand it, but he did not like it.

What he disliked was Qin Yushi’s habit of looking at issues from the vantage point of a superior.

“No wonder I treated Qin Yushi that way in the simulation…”

Su Ze gave a silent laugh inside.

He remained silent and did not answer Qin Yushi immediately.

Meanwhile, he kept gazing off into the distance.

Because he saw a distinguished-looking man who was also staring toward the spot where he and Qin Yushi were standing.
