Chapter 16: I Will Always Treat You Well
Since moving back to Huaian City, Lu Chichuan and Cheng Yanlin’s problems has never ended. Cheng Yili is careless and shows no respect for the old employees of the Cheng family. When discussing contracts, he always acts superior and never seems humble.
With such a foolish son, Cheng Yanlin is frustrated. Gradually, the market starts to lean towards Lu’s company, and very few choose to collaborate with the Cheng family.
In the end, she traded Lu Sheng for a partnership with Lu’s company. As long as Lu Chichuan agrees, there will naturally be plenty of business.
Lu Chichuan originally planned to skip the morning meeting to pick up his sister, but Li Mo insisted he go back, patting his chest: “Don’t worry, I will safely bring your sister back.”
Lu Sheng stood at the gate of the Cheng family mansion for a moment when Li Mo’s car drove up. She cheerfully said, “Sister Lu Sheng, I’m Li Mo! Ah Chi is in a meeting, so I’m here to pick you up.”
Lu Sheng replied gently, “Thank you for your trouble, Miss Li.”
As Lu Sheng sat in the car, she felt a bit shy. After all, she was the girl her brother liked, and she didn’t know what to say. However, Li Mo was very friendly and lively: “From now on, just call me Mo. My parents, brother, and Ah Chi all call me that. Miss Li sounds too formal.”
“Okay, Mo. Did Ah Chi bully you?” Lu Sheng asked, “If he does, tell me, and I’ll help you teach him a lesson.” She thought, no wonder her brother likes her.
“Don’t worry, sister. He would never bully me,” Li Mo replied with a happy smile.
Ah Chi, the world owes you kindness, and Li Mo is here to repay you.
When they returned home, Lu Chichuan was already waiting at the door.
Li Mo did not hide her excitement; she jumped out of the car and hugged Lu Chichuan. “Ah Chi!” Lu Chichuan felt a bit shy in front of his sister, but after a moment, he let go.
“You did a great job!” he said, ruffling Li Mo’s hair.
“Brother…” Seeing his sister, Lu Chichuan felt mixed emotions. His sister had suffered just as much as he had.
“Ah Chi has really grown up. You need to treat Mo well from now on,” Lu Sheng said, taking Li Mo’s hand.
“Exactly! Sister said that if you bully me, she will beat you!” Li Mo said, as if she had found a support. She tightly linked her arm with Lu Sheng’s.
Lu Chichuan was at a loss for words, raising his hands in surrender: “Okay, okay, beat me!”
After lunch, Li Ye and Jiang Tan, along with Lu Sheng, were in the study selecting a good date for the wedding.
The date was set for July 9th. Although it was three months away, Sang Yuwan was in a hurry and called Li Mo and Lu Chichuan to the studio to take measurements, saying it was better to prepare early to avoid any conflicts with her competitions.
“Mo, you guys are dating quietly, and I just found out that your wedding date is set after only two months! Am I not important?” Sang Yuwan complained, measuring while occasionally shooting a displeased glare at Lu Chichuan.
Lu Chichuan really didn’t know how to respond.
“I’m telling you, Lu Chichuan, if you treat our precious Mo badly, I will definitely beat you up!” Sang Yuwan scolded him while measuring, making him afraid to say anything.
“Okay, okay, Wanwan, don’t scold him. It’s all my fault,” Li Mo defended him, but Sang Yuwan exploded: “Really? I’ve known you for seven years, and you’ve only been dating him for a year! You’re not even married yet!”
Sang Yuwan scolded for the entire afternoon. Li Mo winked at Lu Chichuan: “Sorry!” Lu Chichuan sighed silently…
On July 9th, all the prominent figures in Huaian City came to congratulate them—except for the Cheng family, who hadn’t sent a wedding invitation.
“Ah Chi, can I keep all these red envelopes?” Li Mo said, leaning against Lu Chichuan.
“Fine, fine, the envelopes are yours, but tonight, you belong to me,” Lu Chichuan replied, making Li Mo blush, which made his heart race.
The wedding went smoothly as planned. Amid the cheers from the crowd, he gently kissed his beloved Mo. He suddenly recalled Li Ye’s initial words: “I hope you can have your wish.” He got everything he wanted—his lifelong love…
On their wedding night, they were intertwined, breathing heavily. Li Mo’s eyes glistened with tears, her cheeks flushed, and her soft voice whispered, “Ah Chi…” Each gentle call was a deadly temptation for Lu Chichuan…
His throat tightened, and his voice became hoarse: “Mo, I will always treat you well…”
He woke from the dream, and he ultimately let slip his feelings…
