Tao Shushu slept soundly, and when she woke up, it was already dawn.
After washing, she rushed to the dining room where Mother Tao served her a bowl of seafood congee.
Tao Shushu ate the seafood congee, then she turned on her mobile phone while drinking milk.
She was just about to open the game and watch the cub when she saw a series of messages on WeChat.
Tao Shushu opened WeChat and saw that her friend Li Anyu had sent over a dozen messages.
“Shu Shu, let’s go buy beautiful dresses today. The Su family has a celebrity styling team for their daughter. We can’t slack off.”
“I heard that this time they are also going to arrange a blind date for Su Momo to find a fiancé for her.”
“Don’t be angry when I tell you. Zhou Yi, the man who harassed you before, is now saying that he was blind and cheated before, and now he wants to be a clean fiancé. This is too much. He was clearly the one who harassed you, and now he is slandering you and whitewashing himself into a good man with a clean record.”
Li Anyu posted more than a dozen expression packs expressing dissatisfaction, and then she added, “Shu Shu, when you wake up, we’ll go prepare your outfit.”
Tao Shushu calmly comforted her friend and recalled the plot.
In the original book, Zhou Yi was also one of the female lead’s licking dogs. But the female protagonist actually didn’t like Zhou Yi, the uneducated second-generation rich man. The female protagonist was just using Zhou Yi to get closer to Zhou Yi’s elder brother, Zhou Songchi, the current head of Zhou Group.
In order to talk to Su Momo, Zhou Yi told Su Momo everything about Zhou Songchi, which led to Su Momo’s success in strategy.
Tao Shushu clicked on the screenshot posted by Li Anyu.
In the screenshot, Zhou Yi was making wild comments in the group chat.
She couldn’t restrain herself anymore.
She moved to Yancheng from another province with her parents when she was in the first year of high school.
Afraid of causing trouble for her parents, who hadn’t yet established themselves, Tao Shushu didn’t retaliate on the spot when Zhou Yi began to harass her. Instead, she invited him to the boxing gym and fought him until his face turned red and purple and his lips cracked. He couldn’t open his mouth for half a month. Zhou Yi found it unbearable, but he was too proud, so he concealed the truth from his family and his lackeys.
Did he pretend that he had never been beaten to the point that he believed it?
Tao Shushu added a fist waving emoji and sent a message to Zhou Yi: “I’m at the boxing gym, looking for a membership card.”
She casually sent a set of emoticons and closed WeChat.
Why bother with those boring people? It was more fun to play with the cub.
As soon as Tao Shushu opened the game, she found that the truck had been repaired and the cub was driving wildly. It was another dark night, and the huge truck whizzed past, leaving shallow ruts in the darkness.
It may have been driven just over the threshold; she immediately received a prompt of “Mileage reached 100 km, gold +5.”
As soon as she went online, she got the coins earned by her cub through self-service; this made her even happier.
Tao Shushu looked around and saw that there was no danger now. The cub’s stamina and life bar hadn’t decreased too much. She wanted to know what the cub had done that day, so she wanted to touch him when he wasn’t paying attention and trigger a record.
She switched the screen to the driver’s cabin and saw thin lines around the cub, with a few shaky fruits hanging from the thin lines.
What was this for?
Tao Shushu couldn’t figure it out. Why was the cub so alert? No living creature should be able to get in the car.
Fortunately, the game allowed direct selection. To avoid scaring the cub who was driving, Tao Shushu zoomed into his face.
She sighed at how cute and lovely the cub was; he looked stunning even when she zoomed in, then she gently touched his hair.
A series of messages flashed on the screen.
[Your cub copied the circuit diagram, and he was lost in thought.]
[Your cub placed red fruits and engine oil on the table.]
[Your cub repaired the vehicle; he failed once, he failed twice, he failed three times, then he succeeded.]
[Your cub is test driving the vehicle.]
[Your cub drove the car back to the entrance of the cave. He walked into the cave and saw the fruits and engine oil, which remained untouched.]
[Your cub didn’t say anything; he lowered his eyes and put away the fruits and oil.]
Tao Shushu subconsciously glanced at the cub; the fruits and engine oil were placed on his right side, closest to the steering wheel.
She could understand the fruits; she quite liked the red fruit, but what was the engine oil for? Did this car need to be refilled with oil at any time?
She continued to watch.
[Your cub packed all the supplies into the car.]
[Your cub put on the fisherman’s hat and picked up more red fruits while all the animals and plants were hibernating under the sun’s radiation.]
[Your cub is waiting; he occasionally looks into the void.]
There was nothing placed on the passenger seat, but a cotton-padded cushion was laid on top—the cub collected the cotton used to make Tao Shushu’s bed.
The cub wanted to wait for her so they’d leave together; Tao Shushu clearly understood.
Tao Shushu watched the cub wait for a long time until the sun began to set and the roar of a lion came from outside the cave.
If he didn’t leave soon, danger would come again. This cave couldn’t be defended for that long.
[Your cub stood up and called out, but there was no response.]
[Your cub left a small amount of fruit and engine oil in the cave, as well as some weapons.]
[Your cub suddenly ran back and carved a line of words on the stone table. He glanced at it, and his ears turned red. He quickly surveyed his surroundings and erased the line of words. He worked hard with a serious expression and re-engraved a line of words.]
Tao Shushu’s eyes lit up. Yes, communication could be achieved through engraving. Yesterday, she corroded the table with blood-eating grass slime and it was done in front of the cub.
She wanted to go back to the cave and see what the cub left behind.
But when she clicked the cursor, a prompt popped up: [the range is too far to go to that location].
She tried several times, but the result was still the same.
Tao Shushu pouted; it seemed she really couldn’t see what words the cub left for his ‘old mother.’.
Now that the cub had driven over 800 kilometers, they couldn’t go back.
Wait, over 800 kilometers!
According to records, the cub drove without stopping, and he didn’t sleep all night, which could be considered as fatigued driving.
Tao Shushu thought for a moment and poked the red fruit next to Nan Yuan.
The car happened to run over a stone, and the fruit gurgled down.
Nan Yuan caught a glimpse of it and reached out to see it, only to find that the fruit had been caught out of thin air and properly placed back.
Nan Yuan’s eyes lit up, and he stepped on the brake. They appeared; he knew that person would definitely follow.
Tao Shushu saw that Nan Yuan had discovered her, so she didn’t hide and rubbed her cub’s head hard. Nan Yuan’s head kept showing small expressions of happiness.
Tao Shushu rubbed it for a while, then she patted the cushion, and suddenly leaned back the passenger seat, turning it into a recliner that could accommodate one person to sleep.
Nan Yuan refused. He calmly observed the thin lines in front of him. Those were the ones he hung to detect the person’s presence. As long as the person touched it, he would be able to observe them immediately.
He discovered yesterday that the person could penetrate sealed spaces, but it didn’t look like a projection. It could touch him and also touch physical objects. When Nan Yuan was in the military headquarters, he had never heard of any type of robot that could do these things.
But thinking about the medicine and radiation particle flow isolation suit it gave him, both of which were more advanced than the military technology at the peak of civilization, Nan Yuan gave up pursuing it. He had spent too long on the desolate planet, and perhaps without his knowledge, artificial intelligence had evolved in more directions.
Nan Yuan waited, and indeed, because he refused to rest, it came to rub his head again.
Nan Yuan’s eyes widened.
Suddenly, his ears turned red.
Only the closest thin line moved; behind him was the backrest, things were piled up on both sides, making it impossible for anyone to stand.
So, that person was very close to him.
Nan Yuan even held his breath; his expression became serious without realizing it.
Did it not know that there was a safe social distance between humans?
He didn’t reject its closeness, but it was too close.
For a moment, Nan Yuan’s mind was left with this thought, and he didn’t even realize when that person stopped.
Tao Shushu looked at the cub in confusion. The light in the car was dim, so she didn’t see the red tips of his ears.
Wasn’t it just rubbing his head a little longer? Why was his expression so gloomy? Could it be that she was too arrogant and rubbed too hard? But with such a cute cub, she just couldn’t control her hands.
She had to rub the cub’s head!
She had to pinch the cub’s cheeks!
Or it would be the end of the raising the cub game!
Tao Shushu smiled and gently touched the cub’s face, then picked up a red fruit and stuffed it into Nan Yuan’s hand.
Then, she picked up a red fruit and wrote “Hello” stroke by stroke on the leaves that served as paper.
She wanted to write the word ‘cub,’ but she was afraid that the cub would get angry and had to give up.
After thinking for a moment, she wrote ‘baby’ in English.
Nan Yuan saw the thin line on the side move.
He snapped out of his previous thoughts, and saw the fruit in front of him move; the person was drawing on the leaves.
They couldn’t see him.
Nan Yuan rubbed his ears with his hands.
He regretted not wearing the fisherman’s hat, which allowed him to cover up his hot face and ears.
He hesitated for a moment and looked at the thin line on the passenger side.
The person only touched four or five thin threads, so it was very small. It might be a robot that could freely change its shape and combination; that was why it could shrink very small and leave the blocked cave door.
Tao Shushu finished writing and excitedly handed the leaves to Nan Yuan.
She opened her eyes wide, not wanting to miss any expression on the cub’s face.
As expected, Nan Yuan didn’t understand.
It was normal for different galaxies to have different characters. In the apocalypse of her previous life, the characters on different planets were also different.
Tao Shushu blinked her eyes, comforting herself that it didn’t matter if he didn’t understand.
Nan Yuan stared at the leaf, trying to understand what it had written.
Tao Shushu quickly adjusted her mentality and picked up a leaf to start drawing.
She drew the current scene, with Nan Yuan sitting in the car and her dressed in a beautiful dress, sitting in the passenger seat watching Nan Yuan.
She drew another line, with her hands on her hips and the cub sleeping. She held a weapon to guard around the car. This was to tell the cub that he could rest and she’d stay up all night.
After thinking for a moment, Tao Shushu casually wrote down the words from her previous life. In case of a stroke of luck, the little one would understand.
She handed the three leaves to the cub in order.
Nan Yuan also started from the first leaf.
At this moment, Mother Tao walked over and asked, “Shu Shu, what are you doing?”
Tao Shushu waved her phone and quickly responded, “Mom, I’m playing a game.”
Mother Tao breathed a sigh of relief; Shushu was so focused on either doing homework or playing games. This was normal. Last night, she worked on her homework until late at night, which made her and her husband anxious.
While Tao Shushu was talking to her mother, she didn’t notice a line of text popping up on the phone screen: [Warning. The player is prohibited from bypassing the communication system and communicating through text.]
After more than ten seconds, the warning disappeared.
In Nan Yuan’s hand, the characters on the bottom leaf quietly changed their style.
Nan Yuan looked at the leaves in his hand in confusion.
The painting depicted the current scene, but it had been transformed into an animated image. He was a Q-version boy, while it was a girl wearing a skirt.
The other painting was the same scene; he was a man, and she was a woman.
Robots were gender neutral.
So, was she actually a girl?
