Nan Yuan took the fruit and whispered, “You’re here.”
His heart settled down; he knew that the person was beside him. He wasn’t the only person in this wilderness; he had a companion.
Even if he had to face ferocious beasts next, Nan Yuan felt that he wouldn’t regret it even if he died.
Nan Yuan didn’t know that his expression was honestly reflected on the screen.
Tao Shushu watched as her Little Dumpling went from tightly pursed lips to a wide smile, with a small sun jumping over his head.
Then she saw that the cub treasured the fruit and hid it in the deepest part of the backpack filled with supplies.
What she gave was just fruit.
Tao Shushu recalled the original plot introduction: humans were infected with the zombie virus. One day they were partners fighting side by side, but the next day they became enemies who couldn’t communicate.
There was only one human on the barren planet, the cub; he must have been very lonely.
Tao Shushu fell silent for a moment and touched the cub’s head.
As soon as her hand touched the skin of the cub, a bunch of system prompts popped up on the screen.
Tao Shushu vaguely understood that the triggering condition for the event record was that she touched the limbs of the cub.
She tapped the cub again and looked at the records:
[Your cub explored the cave.]
[Obtained sniper weapon X2, explosive weapon X2, and located damaged vehicle X1 outside the cave.]
There was a car!
The cub could drive to find the base now.
Tao Shushu excitedly looked at the car. It was a military vehicle, very large, with a lot of space in the back for stuff. But the tire was ruined. Tao Shushu now had 30 gold coins; it was a “huge sum,” so she could definitely pay to fix it.
Next, Tao Shushu looked at the next record.
[Your cub found some cotton wool in the cave.]
[He made the bed with cotton wool.]
[He left the bed about ten meters away and spread dry grass on the ground by the fire.]
[Your cub is sleeping on dry grass.]
[Your cub couldn’t fall asleep.]
[He walked back to the cotton bed.]
[He built a frame with three branches and used dry grass as a curtain to block the cotton bed.]
[Your cub returned to the dry grass bed.]
[He remained alert.]
[After a long time, he fell asleep.]
Tao Shushu shifted her perspective to the innermost shelter of the cave and indeed saw cotton fluff covering the originally bare stone bed.
That was the bed the cub made for her.
The little cub even thoughtfully put up a curtain.
The little one couldn’t even see her.
Tao Shushu looked at the cub with mixed emotions. Finally, she pressed her fingers against the cotton bed that the cub had made. She couldn’t feel it, but she was sure it was very soft.
Nan Yuan waited for a while. The beast was still roaring, but it didn’t dare to attack, so he was safe for the time being.
He couldn’t help but want to confirm that the person was still there.
He didn’t know if that person saw the bed he made.
When making the bed, Nan Yuan didn’t think too much; he just wanted the person to have a place to sleep. Later, he suddenly remembered that he didn’t know the person’s gender, so Nan Yuan put up a curtain as a cover.
But now, thinking that the person was right beside him, Nan Yuan suddenly felt a little worried and didn’t know what that person would think when they saw the bed.
Perhaps that person was powerful, or perhaps that person was an artificial intelligence that didn’t need to sleep and only found the bed amusing.
At this moment, he felt a commotion coming from the other side of the room.
He turned around gently and saw that the rudimentary curtains had been pulled open, and the cotton fluff had also been patted.
A row of small arrows pointed from under his feet towards the bed.
Did that person want him to sleep there?
Nan Yuan was taken aback for a moment before finally speaking, “That’s prepared for you.”
Tao Shushu saw a row of * symbols representing language encryption popping up on Nan Yuan’s head again.
She paused for a moment, wanting to know what the cub was saying, but it cost 1000 gold coins.
Tao Shushu suddenly felt that the dazzling 33 gold coins on the interface were no longer good-looking.
Nan Yuan explained something again.
Tao Shushu still only saw encrypted symbols.
After a while, Nan Yuan shook his head, pointed to the cotton bed, waved his hand, then pointed to the dry grass on the ground, and nodded at himself.
Did the cub realize that she couldn’t hear what he said, so he made this set of movements to explain it? The cub was too smart.
Tao Shushu was shocked but then she became proud again: “He’s truly the cub I raised; he has a high IQ.”
Nan Yuan insisted on not sleeping on the soft cotton bed.
He was like a door god, vigilantly guarding the entrance of the cave.
Tao Shushula couldn’t move him, so she had to switch perspectives and move outside the cave to see the car the cub had found.
Surprisingly, it was actually a military vehicle.
The car body was painted in camouflage, all components had been modified, and there was a large storage space at the rear. The damaged parts was the steering wheel of the car and the tire.
During the AI rebellion, all auto-drive systems blew themselves up, which caused considerable damage to cars.
Tao Shushu pondered; both the steering device and the setting device needed repairs, and she didn’t know if the 30 gold coins in her hand were enough.
At this moment, the interface popped up: [Side quest 1. Assist the cub in repairing the vehicle and receive a reward of x5 gold coins. For every 100 kilometers traveled in the future, receive a reward of x5 gold coins.]
Tao Shushu’s eyes lit up suddenly.
But she soon noticed several bright green lights outside the cave.
Tao Shushu pulled the control lever and looked around.
It was a wolf.
There were green eyes everywhere, and there were more than ten wolves.
