Tao Shushu tossed the fruit around for a while.
The little person on the screen looked up and over at her every few minutes. He moved quickly, always pretending to look up unintentionally, and then he’d quickly move his gaze away.
Tao Shushu wasn’t happy, and her hands were sore from poking the screen, but she just wanted to make the cub laugh.
Just as she finished moving the bodies of the wolves, she saw the cub running outside again.
Tao Shushu thought there was a crisis she hadn’t noticed, so she quickly followed and foolishly helped the cub move the large stone at the entrance of the cave.
Unexpectedly, the cub turned his back and sealed the stone without a single crack.
He looked as if he was afraid that she would run away.
Even as Tao Shushu smiled, she couldn’t help but feel heartbroken. The cub had no companions and didn’t know she was a player, so it was inevitable that he would worry.
So she thought for a moment and decided to do something to tease the little one.
Tao Shushu deliberately threw a fruit at Nan Yuan’s foot.
The cub, who was focused on processing the meat, stopped moving, wiped his hands clean, and picked up the fruit.
Tao Shushu threw another one over.
Nan Yuan picked it up again.
After being interrupted twice in a row, Nan Yuan didn’t get angry, instead a small sun symbol representing happiness appeared over his head.
Tao Shushu thought for a moment and threw out several more fruits.
The cub picked them up one by one and stood in front of the table without leaving.
Tao Shushu quickly pressed both hands onto the screen and used six fingers to throw the fruits in a row.
More than ten fruits were dancing in the air together.
The corners of the cub’s mouth curled up, and this time it was a very happy smile.
Tao Shushu had the intention of making the cub happy and worked hard for two minutes before putting away all the fruits and no longer disturbing the cub’s work.
Seeing that the cub no longer had a dark expression, she began to count the assets in the game.
After dealing with the wolves, Nan Yuan didn’t hear any other movement in the cave. He walked over to the table, picked up a red fruit, and took a small bite.
The fruit that that person played with seemed a bit sweeter than before.
He had a smile on his lips even though he had been very unhappy before. He was angry that they disregarded danger and dealt with the wolves alone; he was so angry that he blocked the door.
But when he found out that person was teasing him and trying to make him happy, his angry quickly faded.
He touched his chest and felt his heart was beating rapidly. It turned out that being coaxed was like this.
Tao Shushu had gained a lot today, but she wasn’t sure how to use the ‘prestige’ reward. She decided to put it aside for now.
Completing the learning task gave her 30 gold coins, helping the cub eliminate the wolf pack earned 100 gold coins, and now she had a huge sum of 133 gold coins.
The side task of repairing the vehicle for the cub hadn’t been completed. As long as the car started running, there would be 5 gold coins for every 100 kilometers.
Tao Shushu suddenly realized that playing games earned more gold coins than studying.
System: …
Tao Shushu yawned; it was almost dawn.
If she slept now, by the time she woke up, another day would have passed for the cub, so the cub would have to stay in this cave for another day.
Tao Shushu took a sip of water and moved to the side of the vehicle to check the problem.
The car the cub found was equipped with two sets of control mechanisms, automatic driving and manual braking, but when the AI people rebelled, all the auto-drive systems blew themselves up.
The body of this military vehicle had been modified and reinforced, but it had still suffered considerable impact.
Tao Shushu searched and found a red exclamation mark above the dashboard.
She tapped the exclamation mark and spent 1 gold coin on detection.
After the countdown of 5S, a circuit diagram and a line prompt popped up on the screen: [The control system of the car has been detected to be damaged. Should it be repaired now?]
Tao Shushu was stunned by the circuit diagram in front of her.
What was going on? Did she also have to do tests in the game?
[System, come out.]
The system coughed twice and responded, “The player’s ability is sufficient to repair the vehicle.” As it spoke, it put away the anti-salted fish guide.
[TN: In Cantonese, a salted fish is a metaphor for a corpse, but can now mean people who have no intention of doing anything.]
Late at night, after a busy day, Tao Shushu’s parents finally found more clues and were about to go back to their room to rest when they saw that the light was still on in their daughter’s room.
Mother Tao knocked on the door and heard a “come in” before walking in. “Shu Shu, why aren’t you sleeping yet?”
Before she could finish asking, she saw Tao Shushu holding her phone in one hand and sketching in the other. On the screen of her phone was a densely packed circuit diagram.
“Shu Shu, you’re still studying at this late hour.” Mother and Father Tao exchanged a glance; that situation had indeed made the child feel a sense of crisis. She had already started studying late at night.
Tao Shushu yawned and said, “Mom, I’m playing a game, not studying.”
Upon hearing this, Father Tao asked, “Are games so complicated?”
Tao Shushu wanted to turn off her phone, but unfortunately the screen got stuck on the circuit diagram page.
She looked at her parents’ worried eyes and didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. “Mom and Dad, isn’t it good to study?”
“Shu Shu, we don’t want you to work so hard. Can you study tomorrow? It’s almost midnight,” said Mother Tao.
“I’ll answer this question first. I mean, once I pass this level of the game, I’ll go to sleep. Mom and Dad, don’t worry, I won’t tire myself.”
After speaking for a few minutes, her parents turned around and left.
Tao Shushu just wanted to finish it early and rest.
So she didn’t know that after her parents left, they began to mutter anxiously and finally came to a unanimous conclusion that their daughter had worked too hard and needed care. Mother Tao booked an appointment with the spa she often went to and decided to take Tao Shushu tomorrow.
Father Tao also took out his bank card: “The day after tomorrow is the Su family’s daughter’s return banquet. There’ll be many people of the same age at the banquet, so let’s buy some beautiful clothes for Shu Shu.”
Tao Shushu wrote and calculated, and it took another fifteen minutes to finally complete the modification of the circuit diagram.
But modifying the circuit was a delicate operation. She removed part of the outer casing but was at a loss as to what to do with the circuit. Even with the skill of a fruit juggler, she still couldn’t wield it accurately.
Tao Shushu scratched her head. [What should I do? Should I draw the circuit on the sand?]
At this time, the game sent a prompt, [Limited time new release, just spend 50 gold coins, and you can send the cub a picture from another world; do you want to buy it?]
50 gold coins.
Tao Shushu quickly calculated; even if she got more than 90% correct on four reading comprehension questions, she would only get 30 gold coins.
The cub would have to drive a thousand kilometers for her to get a reward of 50 gold coins.
If she just repaired the car, she would only get a reward of 5 gold coins.
Thinking about how she endured sleepiness and worked on the circuit diagram for half an hour, Tao Shushu realized that she was too invested in the game.
Now this crappy game wanted to take away the coins she worked so hard to earn.
No, it was just drawing the circuit diagram again. What was so difficult about that?
Tao Shushu thought for a moment and realized that the stone table in the cave had a flat surface, which was very suitable for drawing circuit diagrams.
She picked up a piece of glass and began to draw crookedly.
Tao Shushu also didn’t know the schematic symbols of the circuit diagram on the cub’s side, but if it was drawn according to the diagram that appeared in the game system just now, they should all be the same.
So she started drawing.
But with hundreds of series and parallel connections, Tao Shushu gradually became irritable. As she drew, she remembered a simplified drawing technique she learned in her last life during the apocalypse, so she began to use simplified drawing techniques to draw.
This time her speed increased significantly, and she copied the entire circuit diagram in just over ten minutes.
She was exhausted; Tao Shushu rubbed her cub’s face and head before falling asleep.
Nan Yuan waited for a while and realized that the mysterious person had really left this time.
He looked at the circuit diagram on the table and became even more determined in his guess. The circuit diagram of the military truck was very complex and was extremely confidential information that wasn’t circulated in artificial intelligence databases, and only a small number of people had access to it.
The fact that they could draw it so quickly either meant that they either had a very high level and had looked it up before, or they had strong computing power and a high level of intelligence.
Nan Yuan looked at the military-specific abbreviation symbol in the latter half of the picture.
They had a military background.
Could it be that a robot in his father’s and brother’s army escaped during the mutiny? That was why it didn’t show hatred towards humans and helped him again and again.
Nan Yuan checked the robots in his memory one by one but didn’t find any suitable suspects.
It seemed to have certain emotions; it liked red fruits and would deliberately make him laugh if it found that he was unhappy.
After thinking for a moment, Nan Yuan walked to the warehouse in the cave, where there were several bottles of engine oil suitable for robots to replenish energy. He didn’t bring them with him because he thought it was a burden before. But now it could be given to it.
Nan Yuan took note of the circuit diagram and began repairing it.
He had to hurry; this cave wasn’t safe enough, and when the full moon came in a few days, the beast tide would become even crazier.
Nan Yuan polished the table again.
Then two large bottles of robot oil and a pile of red fruits were placed together.
