Chapter 25: Wen Lingyue Exposes He Ran’s True Face
The eight of them returned to the tent with abundant supplies. Compared to yesterday, everyone’s steps were much lighter.
He Ran began to act attentive toward Yu Yan.
He twisted open a bottle of water and handed it to her, flattering her, “Yu Yan, I recently watched your drama…”
The sunlight grew stronger. Yu Yan squinted, and He Ran sat close to her, extending his hand to shield her from the sun.
Fu Xin, constantly expecting romantic sparks, felt a surge of excitement. Glancing at the live stream comments, he saw that the audience was reacting enthusiastically.
Lin Rui, seeing this scene, gossiped to Wen Lingyue, “Look, He Ran’s not bad at this.”
Wen Lingyue turned her head, observing silently for a moment, her expression gradually cooling.
Lin Rui’s playful expression faltered; he grew uneasy. “…Wen Jie?”
Wen Lingyue wordlessly stepped forward, standing firmly in front of He Ran. Her gaze was calm and relaxed, yet it carried an intense sense of pressure.
He Ran frowned, staring directly at Wen Lingyue.
Their eyes met in the air, and the atmosphere became subtly tense.
The viewers, focused on the romantic pairing, sensed the tension and began to stir.
[Wen Lingyue, he’s stealing your girlfriend! Go!]
[Yu Yue CP is real—He Ran back off!]
[Wen Lingyue is jealous, chase He Ran away!]
[This is a dating show. Wen Lingyue, interfering in someone else’s romance is so rude!]
Perhaps it was Wen Lingyue’s imposing aura that unnerved him, but He Ran joked, “Wen Lingyue, you’re with Yu Yan all the time, and you still haven’t had your fill? Just let me spend a little time with her. Isn’t that fair?”
After all, this was a dating show.
At this point, if Wen Lingyue didn’t act, it would seem inconsiderate.
“Yu Yan, stay away from him,” Wen Lingyue said coldly.
Yu Yan hesitated, then stood and walked over to Wen Lingyue’s side.
He Ran’s expression darkened, glaring at her. “Wen Lingyue, this is a dating show! Are you deliberately here to stir trouble?”
He had long disliked Wen Lingyue!
She was too conspicuous, too disruptive.
With her around, the spotlight always fell on her. People like them were easily ignored.
“He Ran.”
Wen Lingyue’s gaze was icy, fixed on him.
He Ran’s heart trembled under that look. He snorted coldly, “Fine, I won’t argue with you!”
But while he “let it go,” Wen Lingyue had no intention of letting him off.
She stepped forward, her tone gentle, yet it sent shivers down He Ran’s spine. “Do you know what it means to ‘behave yourself’?”
He Ran stiffened slightly, eyes wary. “What do you mean?”
“I mean—”
Wen Lingyue met his gaze directly. “If you have a boyfriend, don’t provoke others.”
Her gentle words hit like a thunderclap.
The online viewers, watching the drama unfold, were stunned.
What did Wen Lingyue just say?!
Yu Yan blinked, doubting her own hearing.
“Slap! Slap!”
Fu Xin slapped his own face hard. After ten years in the industry, he rarely felt panic—but now, he spun toward the crew. “What did Wen Lingyue just say?!”
“What nonsense are you talking about?!”
He Ran’s voice was louder than ever, pointing at Wen Lingyue. “How could I possibly have a boyfriend?!”
Wen Lingyue smiled faintly. “Oh, I misspoke.”
He Ran’s heart dropped—only to hear her voice again, soft but devastating:
“You two already registered your marriage overseas.”
“Strictly speaking, he is your husband.”
Silence fell over the scene like death.
Everyone was stunned by the magnitude of her words, their gazes flicking between He Ran and Wen Lingyue, completely shaken.
The live stream, watched by millions, immediately exploded.
[Help, is what Wen Lingyue saying true?]
[Is this a joke? I might actually believe it!]
[I’m getting goosebumps. Everything makes sense now. No wonder Wen Lingyue looked at He Ran so strangely!]
The comment section flooded, almost impossible to keep up with.
Meanwhile, the show’s live stream, already at peak popularity, began climbing at an alarming speed.
“You’re lying!!”
He Ran almost jumped, pointing at Wen Lingyue’s nose in protest. “I warn you! This is slander!”
“I’m suing you!”
“You owe me an apology!”
He Ran’s reddened eyes stared at Wen Lingyue, nearly furious. Pei Jingli intervened in time to restrain him.
Compared to He Ran’s rage, Wen Lingyue remained unnervingly calm. “Would I lie if I didn’t have proof?”
He Ran grew even more agitated.
Lin Rui hurried forward.
The entire beach scene descended into chaos.
The live stream’s comment section was so full that the broadcast began lagging.
“Cut the live stream!”
Fu Xin acted decisively.
The broadcast had to stop!
The screen went black instantly, and millions of viewers were booted from the stream.
Fu Xin took a deep breath. “To the island!”
The boat anchored offshore started moving, and Fu Xin rushed to the island as fast as possible.
“Everyone, calm down!”
Fu Xin ran forward. “The live stream for this episode has ended. Calm down, everyone.”
Then he turned to Wen Lingyue. “You shouldn’t have said that during the broadcast!”
True or false, it was inappropriate.
Wen Lingyue’s expression remained cold. “If anything is wrong, it’s your program’s fault.”
This was the type of person they let on a dating show.
Previously, He Ran had flirted ambiguously with a female cast member for publicity, which had boosted his popularity. In the end, they got married.
Their happy marriage had been lauded as a model couple in the entertainment industry—until the actress realized something was wrong. The truth came out: He Ran had deceived her. The emotional harm was immense; the actress nearly attempted suicide.
Wen Lingyue remembered it well. Now, seeing He Ran repeat his tricks, she would never allow it.
Fu Xin was speechless at her words. He glanced at He Ran.
He Ran’s face was a mix of pale and dark red, staring at Wen Lingyue venomously. “Just wait for my lawsuit!”
…
A trip to the island ended in a way no one expected.
The internet erupted. Especially since the program cut the live broadcast mid-stream, and it never resumed. Everyone online sensed a huge scandal and spread the news like wildfire.
[Wen Lingyue’s words are explosive! I’m wide awake now.]
[There’s definitely a scandal! No wonder Wen Lingyue always watched He Ran so closely.]
[He Ran is married and still flirts with female cast members on a dating show? Unbelievable!]
Entertainment gossip accounts and paparazzi began digging into He Ran.
No wall is completely sealed—before He Ran could even issue a lawsuit, paparazzi had already uncovered his hidden past.
Entertainment Paparazzi V: “According to insiders, He Ran registered his marriage abroad with a man in July last year. This man was He Ran’s high school classmate. They both attended the same university after graduation…”
He Ran’s past was fully exposed.
The entire internet went into uproar.
[Wen Lingyue told the truth! She really pulls out the big moves!]
[He Ran is disgusting! Get out of the entertainment industry!]
[Producers of Heart-Throbbing: is this how you select contestants?!]
Yu Yan’s fans were especially furious. Although Yu Yan never liked He Ran, just thinking of his attentions toward her made them nauseated.
The Heart-Throbbing production team was bombarded online, trending for criticism.
