Chapter 3: Fate
Fang Wenrui is dead?
Fang Qi had this thought in an instant, but quickly denied it.
The thing that knocked on the door was obviously very low in intelligence; otherwise, it would not have ignored him when he opened the door, nor would it have turned around until he spoke.
Although it was disgusting and terrifying, it was not very yin and could not kill people.
He could not help but sigh at the rapid development of technology. Even evil ghosts have the function of scanning faces and tracking.
But since it is an evil ghost, how could it come to the door with such a superficial thing?
Is it trying to scare people to death or disgust them to death?
Just as he was thinking, the two eyes staring at him suddenly became firm, as if they had identified their target, and opened their bloody mouths, gathering strength to pounce on him.
Fang Qi shouted in a low voice: “Get out!”
In contrast to his low voice, his whole body was full of yin energy, and the ball of flesh and blood just jumped up and hit a barrier. “Pah,” it fell back to the ground, its face breaking into pieces.
The scene was not pretty.
Fang Qi didn’t want to torture his eyes, so he raised his hand and wrapped the flesh with Yin Qi, corroding it in an instant until nothing was left.
He turned back to his room, and his footsteps suddenly stopped again.
After the dirt in the corridor was corroded, an invisible but colored line appeared where the Yin Qi dissipated.
A line with a color between gold and transparent.
Fang Qi frowned at the line.
After a while, he made a call.
When the call was connected, Fang Qi blurted out, “Where is Fang Wenrui?”
“Who is Fang Wenrui?”
After a moment of silence, the other party suddenly said, “Oh, the brother you submitted who was marked by the evil ghost? He’s alive; why are you asking about him?”
The tone was quite annoying.
The ghost on the line was Fang Qi’s direct superior.
He ignored his superior’s annoying words and told him about the situation he had just encountered.
After listening to this, Xie Ci said calmly: “Since you have already dealt with the things that came to your door, why are you still looking for someone?
It’s your first day on the job, and there is a three-day buffer period. You don’t have to worry about tracing the source for the time being.”
The buffer period is a rule of the underworld, designed to prevent newly appointed ghost messengers from being out of touch with the human world after staying in the underworld for a long time and to help them re-adapt to the environment.
Although Fang Qi didn’t need it.
He looked at the golden thread suspended in the air and said, “That thing has my causal thread on it.”
Xie Ci: “Causal thread?”
Fang Qi: “Yes.”
The causal thread, also known as the fate thread.
Fate gives birth to cause and effect, and with cause and effect, there will be a causal thread.
When leaving the underworld, Xie Ci told him that if he wanted to reincarnate, he had to cut off all his fate threads in the world.
He didn’t see any threads in Fang Zhentian’s ward in the early morning and thought it was something Xie Ci mentioned casually, but he didn’t expect to see it on a pile of mud.
The moment he saw it, Fang Qi inexplicably felt a sense of spiritual restraint, so he immediately tried to cut it.
It didn’t move.
The thread could only be seen but not touched.
Now, he felt the same as the day he was told that he couldn’t be reborn – it was frustrating!
“So what are you going to do?”
Fang Qi said, “Go find Fang Wenrui.”
At ten o’clock in the evening, the nightlife on Changning Street had just begun.
In the luxurious private room on the top floor of the Phoenix Hotel, a group of rich second-generation heirs gathered today, eating, drinking, and having fun; it was lively.
“I heard that your parents took your brother home today?” A short-haired boy sat down next to Fang Wenrui, his eyes full of surprise, “What about brother Fang Duo?”
“What brother? Fang Duo is my brother!” Fang Wenrui suddenly became emotional: “That person is just… just… Forget it, don’t mention him to me!”
He looked impatient and took a sip of water in frustration.
Before Fang Qi appeared, the relationship between the two brothers of the Fang family was well-known in Linjiang City, so when the real and fake young master incident broke out, everyone had a mindset of watching the fun. Now that the person involved was in front of him, who could resist mentioning it?
“When will your brother come back?”
“Why did he go abroad at that time? I heard that it was because that man had a car accident, so your grandfather sent your brother…”
“What nonsense! My brother would never do that!” Fang Wenrui slapped the table and stood up, “You dare to say something like that again!”
The person who spoke was startled by him and immediately fell silent.
Seeing that the atmosphere was not right, someone immediately came up to smooth things over and pressed Fang Wenrui to sit down again.
Fang Wenrui snorted heavily, obviously still angry.
Fang Duo’s going abroad was not actually made public, but almost everyone in the circle knew that the timing of his departure was too coincidental, and he was arranged by his grandfather to go abroad. People with ulterior motives could not help but suspect that he was driven out of the country because he did something wrong.
Fang Wenrui still hasn’t figured out why his grandfather did that.
He was obviously indifferent to them since they were young, but he could ignore his brother’s feelings and put him in an unjust position for the sake of a grandson who had just been found.
I really don’t know what kind of magic potion that Fang Qi gave to his grandfather?
If Fang Qi hadn’t really been in the hospital for three months, he would have even suspected that the car accident was staged by Fang Qi to frame his brother!
“Well, since we’re out here to have fun, don’t think about those unpleasant things.”
A slightly fat man with a square face spoke up next to Fang Wenrui.
This man is called Cao Jing, the son of the owner of the Phoenix Hotel. He was lucky enough to be in the same class as Fang Wenrui.
He always wanted to curry favor with Fang Wenrui, but Fang Duo, the eldest son of the Fang family, kept a tight rein on his younger brother.
It wasn’t until Fang Duo went abroad that he had the chance.
Cao Jing handed Fang Wenrui a glass of wine, “What’s so good about lemon sparkling water? Come on, Mr. Fang, I’ll toast you a glass.”
Fang Wenrui glanced at the wine in his hand and directly refused, “I don’t drink.”
Cao Jing was stunned: “Don’t drink? Really?”
Fang Wenrui responded, “Well, my brother won’t let me.”
Cao Jing asked, “Why?”
Fang Wenrui replied, “Underage.”
Unexpectedly.
Cao Jing looked up and saw that there were not many adults at the table in front of them.
Surprisingly, Fang Duo was gone, but his influence was still felt. Cao Jing secretly gritted his teeth, but he did not dare to touch Fang Wenrui’s reverse scale, so he could only put down the wine.
Just then, the waiter pushed the door in to serve the dishes. Cao Jing’s eyes lit up, and he stood up to take it.
“Even if I can’t drink, I can still enjoy delicious food, right?”
Cao Jing placed the new dish in front of Fang Wenrui. “This dish is called Dragon Liver and Phoenix Marrow, and it’s made with fish and chicken.
But I guarantee you won’t be able to taste any of the fish and chicken.
How about it? Mr. Fang, please give it a try?” The dish in front of him, with food arranged in a dragon and phoenix pattern, was so exquisite that it looked like a work of art.
Before Fang Wenrui could say anything, someone at the table laughed and said, “Cao Jing, your dishes can kill people.
You serve them to Young Master Fang like this. Aren’t you afraid of something happening?”
Bah, Qian Yousheng, stop spreading rumors about me!” Cao Jing turned around and said, “Do you believe I’ll sue you for defamation?”
Fang Wenrui looked confused, “Dead people? What do you mean?”
“Don’t listen to his nonsense…”
“Young Master Fang doesn’t know yet?” Cao Jing was interrupted before he finished speaking. Qian Yousheng stood up and said with a smile, “Cao Jing’s restaurant has been in trouble recently.
Several guests died strangely after dining at their restaurant. It is said that their dishes are cursed.”
“You still come to my house for dinner after being cursed? Aren’t you afraid that you’ll be the next one?” Cao Jing said angrily, “Those guests all died of external injuries.
What does it have to do with my dishes? Maybe they were robbed, or they did something wrong and were retaliated against!”
“Besides, if there was really something wrong with my dishes, Young Master Fang ate a lion’s head here yesterday. How come he was fine?”
“I’m just joking, aren’t you? Why are you so excited?” Qian Yousheng said, “If I were really afraid of a curse, I wouldn’t come to support you today!”
“Tsk!”
Cao Jing curled his lips and continued to recommend Fang Wenrui.
False rumors are a common means of competition among peers and cannot affect the people at the dinner table.
Fang Wenrui was willing to come because he ran away from home and had nowhere to go, and the meal he had here yesterday was really delicious.
Cao Jing was his classmate, so it was no big deal to come and support him.
The dragon liver and phoenix marrow in front of him made people hungry. Fang Wenrui paused for a while and picked up the chopsticks under Cao Jing’s expectant gaze.
If you want to curry favor with someone, you must first have a common topic. If you can control Fang Wenrui’s stomach, will you worry that Master Fang will not be close to him in the future?
Cao Jing was happily imagining the future when the phone in his pocket suddenly vibrated.
He walked to the door of the box to answer the call, and his eyes soon showed surprise: “Fang Qi? What is he doing here?”
Isn’t he here to take Fang Wenrui back?
“No, no need to bring him upstairs; let him wait downstairs.”
After stopping the waiter from bringing people upstairs, Cao Jing looked back at Fang Wenrui, who was enjoying the food.
He didn’t know what he was thinking about, and a not very friendly smile appeared on his face.
Since Fang Wenrui hated his brother so much, he should help to retaliate. Fang Wenrui should be very happy, right?
Downstairs in the lobby, Fang Qi confirmed that Fang Wenrui was in the upstairs box, and he had no intention of going upstairs to find him.
He found a seat in the corner of the lobby and sat down.
The Phoenix Hotel is the most luxurious hotel on Changning Street. The decoration is luxurious and grand, and the lobby is also magnificent.
Fang Qi looked around the lobby and frowned.
This hotel is obviously doing very good business. There are still many guests in the lobby near late at night.
Some people eat silently and elegantly, and some people drink and shout. It seems noisy and ordinary, but in Fang Qi’s eyes, this hotel has been completely shrouded in black fog, and the concentration of Yin Qi is far beyond the normal range.
“How can there be such heavy Yin energy?”
“With more and more people dying abnormally, the Yin energy is naturally getting heavier,” Xie Ci said on the phone.
Fang Wenrui is not the only one who has been marked by the evil spirit.
Fang Qi said: “What is the cause of death of those people?”
Xie Ci said: “External injuries, as if they were bitten to death by something, and the wounds were tested to have residual resentment.”
The wounds that can leave marks on living people must be formed by resentful spirits.
Fang Qi asked again: “Has anyone died in this restaurant?”
Xie Ci said: “No.”
If no one has died, where would the resentful spirits come from?
And even if there are resentful spirits, what is the purpose of killing?
What’s even more strange is that those people who died abnormally obviously all had accidents in their own homes, so why would the Yin energy gather in a restaurant?
Fang Qi secretly looked at this restaurant that he had locked onto without even having to look for it, and suddenly a shadow fell in front of him.
A waiter stood beside his table and smiled, “Sir, would you like to order?”
Fang Qi never knew that there was a rule that you had to order food when entering a big restaurant. He thought for a moment, “Give me a glass of boiled water…”
“Please serve all the dishes on your menu.”
Before he could finish his words, he was drowned out by another voice, which was as clear as a spring, clean and magnetic.
Fang Qi turned his head and found that there was a person quietly standing next to him.
The man had his legs crossed, his posture was elegant, and he was looking at the waiter who came to take their order with a smile on his face.
Fang Qi was slightly surprised.
When did this person get here?
He didn’t even notice his presence!
Not only him, but the waiter who just came over was also stunned for a moment as if he had just seen him, and then his face blushed slightly, “Okay, okay.”
Fang Qi: “…”
The person looked too good.
He was a young man who looked about the same age as Fang Qi, with delicate features and sharp facial contours.
His overly outstanding face made him a little out of place with the surrounding environment, as if he had turned on a level 10 beauty filter among a group of ordinary people.
How could such a person not have the slightest sense of existence before he saw him?
Was he too absorbed in thinking?
Fang Qi was just wondering when he heard the person who ordered the dishes continue: “But I am allergic to seafood, so remember to pick out the seafood for me when cooking.
For seasoning, please mash all the garlic into garlic paste, and add chopped green onions and coriander. Just keep the flavor, but I hope they won’t be in my dishes.
Finally, please separate my dishes into meat and vegetables and serve them up. I only eat vegetarian food, thank you.”
Is this person here to eat or to cause trouble?
