Chapter 2: Even if she hated him, he wouldn’t let her go again
Once, Meng Mingxuan had a good grasp of Yan Mo Jiu.
But the current Meng Mingxuan was the Meng Mingxuan who hadn’t seen Yan Mo Jiu for three years in her previous life.
She didn’t know how to handle Yan Mo Jiu anymore.
The only thing she was sure of was that whatever Yan Mo Jiu promised her with his own mouth, he would do.
So after Yan Mo Jiu said with his own mouth that he “wouldn’t abandon her,” her heart finally settled.
“Ninth Brother, my hand hurts… I want to go home…”
A flash of anger crossed Yan Mo Jiu’s eyes.
Whose fault was it that her hand hurt?
But looking at the girl’s watery eyes, red like a rabbit’s, Yan Mo Jiu sighed, “I’ll take you to the hospital to get it bandaged.”
“No, I want to go home. Ninth Brother can bandage it for me after we get home.” Meng Mingxuan instantly hugged the man’s waist.
She wanted to go home.
The home she had been away from for three years in her previous life.
She wouldn’t be a love-struck fool anymore.
She would listen to Ninth Brother from now on, and stay in the home where Ninth Brother was for the rest of her life.
Yan Mo Jiu’s body stiffened from her embrace, a tingling itch spread across his lower back.
If not for the last shred of reason telling him that she had a wound on her wrist, he would have immediately pulled her hand away and kept his distance!
Because… he was afraid of scaring her.
Afraid of her shocked and disgusted look, afraid she would think he was… disgusting.
Before his body could react completely, Yan Mo Jiu decisively reached out and picked up Meng Mingxuan, holding her horizontally.
This way, she wouldn’t notice.
“There’s glass in the wound, you have to go to the hospital to get it treated.” Yan Mo Jiu said, then strode out of the private room with Meng Mingxuan in his arms.
Leaving his three good brothers, who he had called out to drink with, looking at each other.
“I thought they would completely break up, and Ninth Brother would completely give up, but…” Tang Jun shook his head with a look of “Ninth Brother is doomed.”
If it wasn’t for Meng Mingxuan, Ninth Brother would have returned to the Yan family in Kyoto three years ago, why would he still be in Lin City?
“Don’t you think Meng Mingxuan is a little strange?” Feng Yilin frowned slightly, looking at the empty doorway of the private room.
Tang Jun took a sip of his thin wine and smiled faintly, “You mean, Meng Mingxuan’s attitude was completely different before and after she cut her wrist?”
“Yeah, her eyes were so cold when she entered the private room, it made me feel sorry for Ninth Brother.” Nie Ziyang stroked his chin, puzzled, “But after Ninth Brother actually agreed to her marriage to Yin Ting, she suddenly changed, it’s a little… eerie.”
Like she was possessed.
Don’t say she was acting before.
The four of them had seen all kinds of masks in the Lin City’s wealthy families, she definitely wasn’t acting before.
But the way she was in Ninth Brother’s arms with red eyes just now… it seemed like she was acting.
Nie Ziyang’s words made Tang Jun and Feng Yilin’s hearts sink, they looked at each other at the same time.
It seemed like they had to keep a close eye on Meng Mingxuan for Ninth Brother.
After all, Meng Mingxuan was a hopeless love-struck fool.
She could easily be used by Yin Ting to deal with Ninth Brother.
…
Hospital.
Meng Mingxuan winced in pain as the doctor treated her wound.
In her previous life, she hadn’t gone to the hospital to get her wound treated, because after Yan Mo Jiu said he agreed, she left the private room and went to find Yin Ting.
Yin Ting had treated her wound simply, but it left a scar later, and it would still ache from time to time.
Now…
It was only after the doctor treated her wound that she realized Yan Mo Jiu was right – there were glass shards embedded in the wound.
In her previous life, the scar on her wrist had healed but still ached. It must have been because Yin Ting hadn’t cleaned the glass shards properly.
Seeing Meng Mingxuan’s eyes turn red from pain but still holding back tears, Yan Mo Jiu pursed his lips.
His whole being exuded a cold, ruthless aura.
After the doctor personally treated Meng Mingxuan’s wound, he wiped the sweat from his brow and respectfully said, “Don’t worry, Ninth Master, Miss Meng’s wound isn’t deep. Just don’t use your wrist or get it wet for the next few days. Spray iodine solution twice a day, and it should heal within a week.”
The Ninth Master of Lin City, a powerful figure in both the black and white worlds, with immense power, the entire Lin City’s economy was propped up by him.
Everyone knew, everyone understood.
And the Ninth Master had a piece of his heart, named Meng Mingxuan.
If she even scratched her skin, the earth would be dug up three feet deep.
The doctor couldn’t imagine if the perpetrator who had injured Miss Meng like this was still alive.
“Hmm.” Yan Mo Jiu stepped forward and sat down in front of Meng Mingxuan’s bed.
Seeing this, the doctor and nurse wisely retreated from the ward.
Yan Mo Jiu silently looked at Meng Mingxuan’s tear-stained face for a moment, took out a few tissues, and gently wiped her tears.
Meng Mingxuan didn’t dodge, which gave Yan Mo Jiu some solace to his heart, which felt like it had been ripped open tonight.
“Ninth Brother, I want to go home.” Meng Mingxuan tugged at the man’s sleeve pitifully, swaying slightly.
Yan Mo Jiu finished wiping her tears, but he didn’t leave her cheek.
He gently rubbed his fingertips against her delicate skin, his eyes filled with a deepness she couldn’t understand.
“After tonight, I won’t agree to your marriage to Yin Ting again. Are you sure you want to give up?”
Yan Mo Jiu asked in a low voice.
Meng Mingxuan’s household registration book was in his hands.
And when he said “agree,” he was already prepared to return to the Yan family in Kyoto alone.
But she suddenly clung to him again, like she used to.
So…
After today, if she continued to make a fuss about marrying Yin Ting, he wouldn’t let go.
Even if he locked her up, even if she hated him, he wouldn’t let her go again.
Hearing Yan Mo Jiu’s question, Meng Mingxuan quickly grabbed his wrist, “Ninth Brother, I won’t marry Yin Ting, I’ll stay with you forever.”
It was at this moment that Yan Mo Jiu disappeared in her previous life.
And she had no idea where he went.
Later, when her wedding date with Yin Ting was set, Yin Ting asked her to contact Yan Mo Jiu, saying that he was her only family and should attend her wedding and give her blessings.
Only then did she realize that she could no longer contact Yan Mo Jiu.
She was a little scared, afraid that everything now was just a hallucination after her death.
Afraid that Yan Mo Jiu would still disappear from her world.
Stay with him forever…
Yan Mo Jiu looked at Meng Mingxuan’s red-rimmed eyes and smiled.
“Mingxuan said this before.”
But after Yin Ting appeared, she broke her promise.
Not only did she move out of the house and live in the school dormitory, she wouldn’t even come home on weekends.
Her eyes towards him gradually turned cold.
She even hated him because he didn’t agree to her relationship with Yin Ting.
Tang Jun’s previous words, “Keep a close eye on her, be careful that the childhood sweetheart can’t beat the sudden arrival,” he had learned his lesson.
“This time it’s true.”
Meng Mingxuan said softly.
She couldn’t explain her previous broken promises, it was all too distant for her.
It was something from her previous life.
“Don’t bring up the past.”
She tugged at the man’s sleeve, with a hint of awkward pleading and a little bit of coquettishness.
