Chapter 23: Milk Candy
On the night when it was time to sleep, Su Shiyi changed into her Olivia von Halle silk pajamas, yet she still couldn’t bear to put her little plush doll into the cat house.
She was so cute and so clingy. She didn’t scratch or bite when cuddled in her arms. How could she let a one-month-old well-behaved baby cat sleep alone? That was just uncatlike!
Lucy could only advise her, “Miss Shiyi, if you sleep with Milk Candy, you might accidentally hurt her at night. Also, she’s not yet old enough for vaccinations or deworming, so there are still health risks.”
Milk Candy was the name Su Shiyi gave to the little plush cat, because it was just so sweet. Milk Candy made faint little mewing sounds, and when it pressed its tiny paw against her face, it would carefully retract its claws.
What moved Su Shiyi the most, though, were those beautiful blue eyes. What bad intentions could a kitten have? In its eyes, there was only you—you were its everything.
Even though Su Shiyi was already lying in bed, she was still reluctant to part with it. “How could I? My bed is so big—enough for ten people! Her grandparents and parents are all healthy, and they’ve all been raised with love. She’ll be fine.”
“But you like to turn over when you sleep, and Milk Candy likes to stay close to you,” Lucy said, worried. “She’s too small, it’s better for her to sleep in the cat house. There will be a nanny to take shifts and watch over her.”
“I promise, when you open your eyes tomorrow, Milk Candy will be right there, okay?”
Lucy even used a tone as if coaxing a child. Su Shiyi felt a little sad, but she could only hand Milk Candy over to her. Milk Candy, reluctant to leave her arms, even hooked its claws onto her collar, mewing sadly to show how much it didn’t want to part with her.
“Oh, my dear baby, I don’t want to let you go either…”
But there was no choice. While she believed Milk Candy was healthy, Su Shiyi was truly afraid that she might accidentally hurt her while sleeping, so she had to send her to the neighboring cat house.
“I’ll come visit you tomorrow,” she said, cuddling Milk Candy one last time. “Be good, okay?”
Milk Candy seemed to really understand her, and after being persuaded, it reluctantly retracted its claws, mewing a few weak sounds. Su Shiyi sadly closed her eyes and waved her hand for Lucy to hurry and take her away.
Lucy: …
She had only heard about how cats should be shown something before sterilization, but now it seemed like Su Shiyi was putting on a nightly farewell performance before going to sleep.
Because Su Shiyi loved Milk Candy so much, and the Gu family had many rooms, Li Shuman directly arranged a small room next to her—a fifty-square-meter space—as a cat house, so she could cuddle Milk Candy with just a few steps. Andrew quickly completed the setup for the cat house.
There were over a dozen different shaped and sized cat beds, allowing Milk Candy to choose whatever style she liked. Each bed was equipped with occupancy sensors, so Su Shiyi and the cat nannies could know where Milk Candy was sleeping and monitor her temperature and health in real-time.
Cat climbing frames and scratching posts were scattered throughout the cat house, along with a specially designed wall for climbing. The room was also prepared with a treadmill for cats, a spinning toy, tunnels, a roly-poly toy, an electric butterfly, a laser pointer, and other toys to keep her entertained.
The litter boxes were distributed throughout the cat house—probably because a fifty-square-meter room would require too much running around for a cat, so they were arranged everywhere. As for the feeding stations, they weren’t automatic, but the cat nannies would feed Milk Candy according to the nutritionist’s recommendations, making sure she had cat food, milk, and water on a schedule, occasionally giving her some snacks.
On a nearby shelf, pet wet wipes, calcium supplements, cat milk powder, lecithin, probiotics, and some common pet medications were neatly arranged. Various brushes were also placed neatly. The Gu family didn’t buy packaged cat food. Instead, the nutritionist prepared fresh meals for Milk Candy daily based on her specific needs.
The next, smaller room was designated as the cat nannies’ break room. Since cats could have issues at any time, Andrew arranged for three cat nannies to take shifts, ensuring that Milk Candy received the best care 24/7.
Lucy carried Milk Candy into the cat house and skipped past a row of cute, pretty, soft cat beds, heading straight for a specially prepared cardboard box.
Lucy: … As expected, a cat’s favorite is always a cardboard box.
After giving a few instructions to the cat nanny on duty for the night, Su Shiyi returned to her room to rest. Meanwhile, her mind kept wandering back to the kitten, so she opened the monitoring app for the cat house on her phone.
Oh, Kevin is just amazing! Almost immediately after setting up the cat house, he installed comprehensive, multi-angle cameras in the entire house and each cat bed, so she could watch on both her phone and tablet!
This is probably the mindset of any cat owner. Even if Milk Candy wasn’t deliberately acting cute in front of the camera, just lying there and slightly moving her limbs and tail, Su Shiyi thought it was the cutest thing ever—she just wanted to cuddle her, kiss her, and squeeze her.
Ragdoll cats have incredibly soft fur, and as a medium-to-long-haired breed, Milk Candy’s fur felt so wonderful that it was almost impossible to stop touching her.
They say owning a Ragdoll is like unboxing a mystery gift—you don’t really know how they’ll turn out until they grow up. Milk Candy was already one month old, and she was still all white with only her ears being a soft gray-blue. The person who gave her to Su Shiyi had confidently assured her that Milk Candy was a purebred Ragdoll and would grow up to be a stunning blue bicolor.
But Su Shiyi didn’t really care much about Milk Candy’s breed. What mattered was that they had a special bond. No matter how she grew up, she would always be her mommy’s beloved little darling!
Feeling overjoyed, Su Shiyi recorded the live feed from the cameras and sent it to her dorm group, along with a few adorable photos of Milk Candy. In a dorm where she was the only one with a cat, this was bound to stir up some strong reactions.
【Xu Wenwen: This is too much! We’re all single, and you secretly have a cat! You’re a traitor to the organization, and I, on behalf of the masses, must condemn you!】
【Lin Jiayan: I don’t quite get the logic above, but it’s still too much +1】
【Wu Feifei: Such a cute Ragdoll! Baby Shiyi, which building do you live in at Taihe? I’ll come visit tomorrow!】
【Su Shiyi: 【Location of Taihe Courtyard】】
【Wu Feifei: Alright, wait for me. I’ll suck all the fur off your cat.】
【Su Shiyi: ?? Sister Fei, are you really coming? I’m in the capital. I can arrange a plane to pick you up.】
【Wu Feifei: …】
【Wu Feifei: Oh, now that I think about it, I didn’t mention this before, but I’m actually from the capital, I live near Chang’an Street.】
【Xu Wenwen: ???】
【Lin Jiayan: ??? What’s going on with all of you? Chang’an Street? That name sounds pretty fancy!】
【Xu Wenwen: Ha, now I see. Turns out in this dorm, only Jiayan and I are the real poor ones. Out of the four of us, two are rich ladies!】
【Lin Jiayan: Right! Does everyone remember that last time Shiyi mentioned that expensive restaurant? Sister Fei accidentally let it slip that she’s been there!】
This turn of events completely stunned Su Shiyi. After thinking it over, it did make sense. In their dorm, Wu Feifei was the one who spent the most generously and acted the most high-profile—everyone greeted her with a “Sister Fei” when they saw her.
However, she almost never used particularly high-end luxury brands, so no one had ever suspected her wealth.
【Wu Feifei: It’s not that dramatic. To compare me with Shiyi is a bit too much. Chang’an Street is huge, you guys are really overestimating me. My family has a bit of money, but in the capital, we’re not even close to being at the top. Tonight, Shiyi’s family is hosting a banquet, and we only heard about it after it ended. I just found out where she lives…】
【Wu Feifei: I misspoke, I meant to ask where the most frequently used house of the Gu family is (lights cigarette)】
【Su Shiyi: …Sister Fei, with our relationship, if you had told me you were in the capital, I could’ve sent someone to pick you up.】
【Wu Feifei: No need, I don’t like attending these kinds of banquets. Plus, while it’s my business that you and I are friends, if I go tonight, it wouldn’t just be my business.】
【Wu Feifei: My parents and I aren’t the branch that inherits the family business. We just get a little dividend every year and enjoy life. I don’t want to get involved in that.】
【Xu Wenwen: I think I get it now, this circle has some things going on.】
【Lin Jiayan: So complicated…】
【Su Shiyi: Well, in that case, would you guys like to come to the capital to play? All meals and accommodations covered, plus transportation! I’ll introduce Panpan to you guys, she’s super cute!】
【Lin Jiayan: I’d love to go, but I need to prepare for applying to graduate schools abroad, so I’m too busy TAT】
【Xu Wenwen: I’m interning at a big company, and I’m so busy I’m dizzy, so I can’t go either.】
【Su Shiyi: Looks like it’s just me and Sister Fei, two useless people with nothing to do this summer.】
【Wu Feifei: …Actually, I’m studying for the CPA. My parents are strict, and I’m never going to be able to slack off.】
Su Shiyi: .
Well, that just leaves her as the only useless one.
【Su Shiyi: Actually, I have a lot to do too! I’m going to ride horses on the Khorchin Grasslands, visit the pink beaches of the Bahamas, watch the sunrise at Danxia Mountain, take a hot air balloon in Cappadocia, and go scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef. Sigh, I’m just so busy.】
【Wu Feifei: Go away!】
【Lin Jiayan: Go away!】
【Xu Wenwen: Go away!】
With her roommates’ well-wishes, Su Shiyi happily closed her eyes, holding her plush cat, [1]Daji (妲己), a famous figure in Chinese mythology, and Chuansha (川沙), which could refer to a place in Shanghai or just be a cute name.Chuan Sha Daji, and drifted off to sleep.
—
The next day, it wasn’t the alarm clock that woke Su Shiyi up—it was her new favorite Ragdoll cat, Milk Candy.
She felt something furry rubbing against her chin. When she half-woke up, she saw Milk Candy sweetly stepping on her shoulder and rubbing her head affectionately.
Su Shiyi: What is this, is this what it feels like when your heart is almost melted?!
She petted Milk Candy’s head and hugged the little cat. Milk Candy’s eyes were even bluer and purer than Lake Baikal, and when she looked at humans, no two-legged creature could resist the kitten’s deadly charm.
Oh, oh, oh, cats must be little angels sent from heaven.
Su Shiyi lay in bed, snuggling with Milk Candy for a long time before finally getting up to brush her teeth. Ragdolls love to be clingy, and Milk Candy took this trait to the extreme—even when Su Shiyi put her down at the door of the bathroom, she still wanted to follow her in, looking for spots to jump onto the counter.
“I’m going to turn on the faucet now,” Su Shiyi said, gently opening it to a small flow. “You’re still just a little kitten, you’d better not get wet, so go down.”
The sound of running water made Milk Candy a little scared. She hesitated for a moment, then walked gracefully to the edge of the sink, but still wouldn’t get off.
She just wants to watch you~ Milk Candy meowed a few times, her ears twitching with each sound.
Su Shiyi was so melted by her cuteness that she stopped trying to make her go down and continued brushing her teeth with the smallest flow of water. Holding the electric toothbrush in one hand, she stretched her other hand to gently stroke Milk Candy’s head.
After brushing her teeth and using mouthwash, Su Shiyi’s morning skincare routine was handed over to her beautician. She lay quietly on the beauty bed, waiting for the beautician to apply treatments to her face.
Milk Candy curled up on her chest, wagging her tail quietly, enjoying the fur brushing Su Shiyi was giving her. She was really well-behaved, lying there almost motionless, as long as she could stay close to Su Shiyi, that was enough to make her happy.
Su Shiyi: Sob sob sob, good kitty, Mommy loves you!
She opened her phone and checked the message Wu Feifei had sent in the group chat. Wu Feifei said she would probably come to see her in the afternoon, and Su Shiyi replied with a simple “Okay, got it,” then forwarded the message to Lucy. Lucy confirmed it and said she would coordinate with the butler Andrew.
Next, she logged onto Weibo. The heat from yesterday’s Xue Lanying and Zhang Nan incident had mostly passed, but Su Shiyi was back on the trending list again, this time for a new topic—How Happy Can A Rich Woman Be?
Oh, it was a video from the banquet last night. Su Shiyi remembered there was a girl who liked to be a video blogger and had asked her if she could film. Su Shiyi didn’t mind, and after checking with Gu Lang, she agreed.
The video was first posted at three in the morning, edited overnight—truly dedicated to her craft.
The video wasn’t long, just over five minutes, but every second made netizens eat tons of lemons. In the video, viewers spotted well-known business tycoons. The first comments were a flurry of “Holy, isn’t that so-and-so?” When the main character of the banquet, Su Shiyi, appeared, the netizens started going wild again.
Everyone had seen strapless dresses and long gowns, but a gown with that many diamonds on it? That was something new for everyone. Some netizens even dug into the details, finding that the gown didn’t have any broken diamonds, and each diamond was of high quality. It was estimated that the gown’s production cost alone was nearing the ten-million-yuan mark, not including design fees.
【Thanks for the invite. What’s it like to wear the down payment of an apartment in the capital?】
【I’m different. With this dress in my city, I could buy a few small villas outright.】
【And this is just a dress that a rich woman might only wear once.】
Su Shiyi: Oh? So that gown had so many details, she didn’t even know that until now. She thought it was just a regular haute couture dress.
The video blogger was also quite wealthy, so she barely paid attention to the alcohol and buffet at the banquet, using them as background material. However, today’s internet detectives didn’t miss a single detail.

【After searching all the wines you guys mentioned, I just want to ask, rich woman, do you still need any more accessories for your legs?】
Su Shiyi: What, there are these wines too? She didn’t even care about them, she was drinking orange juice the whole time.
Compared to expensive wine, things like king crabs, grouper, bluefin tuna, caviar, truffles, and wagyu beef seemed quite ordinary. Netizens discovered familiar dishes like blanched bok choy, sweet and sour pork ribs, and braised pork, and they all started commenting that these were the only luxurious dishes they could afford.
However, some people criticized these dishes for not being luxurious enough, but netizens quickly rebutted, saying that wealthy people eat whatever they want, not because they have to, and that it’s ridiculous to dictate what they should eat, even at the tables of the richest families.
As the video continued, the airplanes and yachts were cut out because they didn’t have much visual impact. The clothing, bags, and jewelry were briefly mentioned in one sentence, but through the prior build-up, netizens could imagine just how much information was packed into that single line.
【For those in the front rows, the blogger is also a famous figure in the Beijing socialite circle, a well-known little rich woman. What she refers to as small gadgets are definitely not the kind you can buy from street vendors for a few bucks (nostalgic.jpg).】
【Of course, beautiful and wealthy girls all hang out together. I saw several goddesses in the video.】
【Congratulations! The women you see at the Gu family’s banquet are all true goddesses, the very best kind, and slightly less than top-tier wouldn’t even be allowed in.】
Su Shiyi: Hmm, she only knows that the girls attending the banquet were very pretty, but she doesn’t know any of them, woo woo woo. Then came the gift-giving segment of the video, and when the plush cat, Milk Candy, appeared on screen, the reactions were relatively controlled, with comments just wishing to hug and kiss her. But when the chocolate candy house appeared, the screen was flooded with “ah ah ah ah ah” comments.
Oh my god, is this level of detail really possible? The blogger even filmed very close-up shots, and netizens could see the intricate architectural patterns on the castle, and it was actually made of chocolate!
It seems the blogger is also a fan of dress-up mobile games, as she focused on recording the real-life versions of clothing from two games. Yes, although a costume car convoy was parked outside, the guests still brought the most stunning and glamorous outfits to the banquet hall.
The people at the event were calm, but the netizens in the comment section were going wild.
【Who’s jealous? It’s me, I’m jealous QAQ】
【Mommy Shiyi, I’m your long-lost daughter!】
【Ha, you spineless people, stay away, don’t block me from bowing to the ancestors.】
【I’m not greedy, I just want to see the rich woman wear these clothes, just once!】
【I agree with the one above, but I think the rich woman’s wardrobe is already lined up with luxury items, and these outfits are probably just for collection… But even a wide shot would be fine, we could zoom in!】
Su Shiyi: She does want to film the clothes, but there are just so many of them…
The video continued, and netizens thought that the lemons they had consumed were enough, and nothing would cause a bigger stir, as they were used to big scenes.
Until the appearance of the Batmobile, which completely pushed the rhythm of the video to its climax. The screen was overwhelmed with “ah ah ah ah ah” comments, filling the entire display to the point where other content was barely visible.
This is too exaggerated! Su Shiyi had to turn off the comments to see the Batmobile in the blogger’s lens. The blogger had excellent filming skills, with perfect control of camera distance, capturing the car’s power and coolness. Even Su Shiyi, as the owner, couldn’t help but fall for it again when watching the video.
She couldn’t help it, she needed to get her driver’s license, and told Kevin to hurry up and arrange a teacher for her, woo woo woo.
At the end of the video, there were some irrelevant content. Perhaps because Su Shiyi had just trended yesterday and still had some discussion today, the video about her went viral again. There would definitely be trolls coming out, asking why someone living such a luxurious life doesn’t care about the poor in mountain areas, but they were quickly countered by netizens, saying the Gu family’s foundation donates billions every year, and asking if the person had donated over a thousand dollars in their lifetime.
Moreover, many subsidiaries of the Gu family are recognized by local governments for their active tax contributions. The wealth earned by the Gu family is also partially directed to national pensions, which is certainly better than the money being drained by foreign companies or those evading taxes.
As expected, Su Shiyi’s Weibo account gained a huge number of followers, and by the time she refreshed her page, she had surpassed one million followers. Under her latest post, suddenly, there were many “wild” sisters, children, and even grandsons and great-grandchildren…
Hmm, celebrities with over a million fans still give out benefits, shouldn’t she do the same? But singing and dancing definitely wouldn’t get any attention, and she’s not into those fake things, so if she’s going to do it, it should be something real and beneficial.
After the video finished playing and the comment section had scrolled through, her facial cleansing was also done. Since it was part of her daily routine, it was fairly simple—applying too much would only hinder absorption and put extra strain on the skin.
Su Shiyi sat up with Milk Candy, confirmed that she had eaten her cat breakfast, then cradled her in her arms and went downstairs.
Although the Gu family doesn’t have the tradition where younger people must wait for the elders, out of politeness, Su Shiyi was always the first to reach the dining table. She didn’t have to wait long—just a few minutes—and Gu Pan and Gu Chen soon joined her.
Among the three, Su Shiyi and Gu Pan had a close sisterly bond, but with Gu Chen, their relationship was purely a plastic sibling one. After Su Shiyi enthusiastically greeted Gu Chen, as usual, there was no other topic to discuss. Gu Chen didn’t want to talk to her, and she was content with the silence, only speaking with Gu Pan.
Gu Pan was studying at the Imperial Capital University and, unlike her, wasn’t spending the summer being lazy. As the perfect Mary Sue novel heroine, she had several competitions in piano, violin, ballet, and painting, with locations all over the world. As for Gu Chen, there were only two things in his life: making money and accompanying Gu Pan.
However, Gu Pan said that if Su Shiyi wanted to meet more friends, it wouldn’t be a problem for her to organize gatherings with a few circles, she wasn’t so busy that she didn’t have time to relax.
When Gu Lang and Li Shuman came downstairs, after some casual chatting, Su Shiyi was surprised to find out that she might become the only one staying behind at home—
Gu Lang was always flying around the world for business, and it was rare for him to stay in the Imperial Capital for more than two days. Li Shuman’s schedule was also packed with auction events, art exhibitions, socialite tea parties, and fashion weeks. As Gu Lang’s wife, she had an important role in “lady’s socializing” and almost never had a free day.
Su Shiyi: …
Turns out her real mother was also a kind of strong woman in another sense. Don’t just say that marrying into a wealthy family is luck—one still needs to be strong oneself! Even Gu Pan, the pampered type of heroine, already has several international awards, speaks seven languages fluently, has top-tier social skills, and is a future matriarch with a photographic memory.
As for her, well, maybe she should just stay as someone who can’t do anything at all, a waste of space. TAT
Su Shiyi, holding back tears, took a bite of the perfectly fried egg when she heard Gu Lang ask, “Have you got your passport and visas ready?”
Huh, is this about her?
Lucy answered for her: “Miss Shiyi’s passport is valid, and she currently holds Schengen, UK, US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand visas, covering most developed countries and regions.”
Gu Lang nodded and said, “These should be enough, others can be applied for quickly. You’ll definitely be free this summer, so be ready to take my calls. I’ll arrange for you to experience the travel highlights around the world.”
Wow, Dad’s going to send her on a trip! Of course, that sounds great!
Su Shiyi immediately nodded, enthusiastically complimenting him, calling him wise and mighty, more handsome than [9]Pan An (潘安) was a famous scholar and poet from the Western Jin dynasty (around the 3rd century). When it came to praising her sugar daddy, Su Shiyi was absolutely a professional—everyone who’d heard her praise said it was great!
Gu Lang smiled, accepting the compliments Su Shiyi had racked her brain to come up with, then casually dropped a line:
“After the holiday, remember to submit a reflection report to me.”
Su Shiyi: ?
Su Shiyi: ???
Her expression immediately cracked, “Dad, oh dear Dad, are you even speaking human language?”
She was already in university, not elementary school—why did she still have to write something like a spring outing journal?! (Throwing a tantrum)
Poor Su Shiyi tried to resist: “Dad, don’t you think this is too cruel? Going out to play should be something fun, why make me write a reflection report, ruining the mood like that?”
Gu Lang was completely calm: “Because I’m bad, and I just want to torment you.”
Su Shiyi: …
What’s wrong with him? He’s saying all her lines, what else can she say?
Even if it’s the truth, can’t he say it more tactfully? So frustrating!
Gu Lang switched to a “watching a play” expression: “What’s this, yesterday you were talking about small cotton jackets and military coats, saying you’d walk through fire and go through hell for me, and now that I ask you to write a report, you’re secretly cursing me in your heart?”
“Of course not,” Su Shiyi immediately straightened up, speaking seriously, “Dad is the sky, the earth, the eternal god in my heart, how could I do that? That would be too unfilial of me. I’m not that kind of person!”
Just a bit of complaining—how could that be considered cursing? It’s not the same!
Gu Lang kept looking at her.
Gu Lang’s gaze intensified.
Su Shiyi: …
Why is this happening? Is this the price of having a good dad? When God opens a door for her, does that mean He has to close a window?
She could only cry and sob, “Dad, don’t worry. Wherever you arrange for me to go, I’ll go. I’ll definitely take good travel notes and write reflections, and send them to your email in PPT and PDF formats.”
Damn, before she entered this world, she was in charge of planning, so why did that last sentence come out so smoothly, almost automatically?
She didn’t want this kind of muscle memory, ugh!
Gu Lang nodded in satisfaction: “Good girl, that’s the way. Gu Chen, learn more from your sister.”
Gu Chen: ?
Learn what? Learn how she’s a [13]“tough one who isn’t afraid of boiling water” (死猪不怕开水烫) is a Chinese idiom that literally means “a dead pig isn’t afraid of boiling water.”tough one who isn’t afraid of boiling water, or how her ridiculous heart never dies?
He’s figured it out—his dad, Gu Lang, was just a quiet, proud, reserved man. On the surface, he seemed serious and the place would fall silent whenever he entered, but in reality, he loved listening to empty flattery.
Hmph, men!
Human sorrow and joy are not shared, and after Su Shiyi’s resistance failed, her real mother, Li Shuman, gently reminded her to pay attention to safety whether she was going out or staying at home.
If she was interested, she could also join in her social activities to enrich her life. Su Shiyi, afraid that more “reflections” would follow, quickly shook her head and politely declined.
Sigh, shouldn’t the life of rich people be simple and plain? Why does it have to be so full of twists and struggles!
After returning to her room, Su Shiyi collapsed like a salted fish, while Milk Candy climbed onto her bed meowing. After giving her little plush doll some kisses, hugs, and lifting it high, she began considering the batch of clothes she received last night.
Ah, she really wanted to see how the clothes from [14]Shining Nikki & Love & Sword Both games focus on fashion, allowing players to collect and design outfits.Shining Nikki and Love & Sword would look when worn in real life, but if she had to try them on one by one, wouldn’t that just kill her?
In that case… why not hold a comic convention? Su Shiyi thought her height of 163 cm was quite average. If she hired a few girls of similar size, they should be able to wear all the outfits on the day of the event. She could have them sign up in advance, and after confirming their approximate height and weight range, making slight adjustments to the dresses wouldn’t be a problem.
Anyway, Su Shiyi wasn’t planning to wear them, just looking at them and adding them to her collection would be fine. Besides, if she really liked one, she could always make it again. As the netizens had said, her closet was overflowing with clothes, and even if she wore three sets a day, she still couldn’t guarantee that she’d wear everything before the season changes.
A comic convention sounds great! Not only could she see how the clothes would look on real people, but she could also show off her Mark50 and Batmobile. Just thinking about it was so exciting!
Su Shiyi immediately made the decision and called Kevin, quickly expressing her demands.
“We won’t charge for tickets to the convention, but see if you can partner with some popular IP companies and we can sell licensed merchandise directly. The pricing shouldn’t be too high, we’re not concerned about making a profit.”
“We can invite more famous cosplayers, provide food and lodging, and pay them well.”
“Let’s have more games at the venue, with various raffles and such, to create a fun atmosphere, so everyone enjoys themselves.”
“For catering, we’ll provide limited free meals. Let’s pick a few IPs we can collaborate with, and from tableware to food, everything should reflect the theme.”
“Alright, Miss Shiyi,” Kevin’s voice was as professional as ever. “It’s the summer vacation, so it’s definitely a good time for a convention. The venue will be the National Conference Center. Do you think that works?”
Su Shiyi thought for a moment. “Wouldn’t limiting it to just the capital be too small? Let’s make it a touring exhibition and choose ten cities across the country to start!”
#This much joy shouldn’t just be limited to the capital
#Let’s have the whole country join in and have fun together
Leaving the task to Kevin, Su Shiyi felt at ease. With his abilities, the final result would exceed her expectations.
After settling one issue, she began planning the content for the one-million-follower giveaway.
Let’s keep it simple. The way to give away benefits should be simple. If you ask what Weibo users like the most, no one would say no to money, right?
Su Shiyi opened Weibo and typed out the copy:
【I just hit one million followers on Weibo, so here’s a little giveaway. Repost this Weibo, and I’ll randomly select 100 people from my followers, each getting 11,111 yuan in cash. This is the first wave of fan benefits, I’ll think of more later.】
Within ten minutes of posting this Weibo, Su Shiyi trended again. However, she wasn’t concerned about it, she was deep in thought, trying to decide what to give away in the second wave.
Right! Besides money, she could also help advertise all the industries under Gu’s Group.
She sent a message to Lucy, asking her to list all the companies fully owned by Gu’s Group and what products they were offering. The partial shares could be left out, she probably wouldn’t be able to count them all by tomorrow.
Lucy responded quickly, sending an entire Excel document in just a few minutes. Su Shiyi opened it and saw that there were dozens of pages just categorizing the major types of products. No wonder Gu Lang and Gu Chen were so busy, like spinning tops. Even though they had hired many excellent managers, there were still many decisions that had to be made personally.
She picked out a few of the most representative products, with the widest applications, and even if people couldn’t use them, they could easily trade them on second-hand platforms.
【Second wave of fan benefits: Repost this Weibo, and I’ll randomly select 100 lucky followers to receive a big Gu’s gift package!】
【Contents of the gift package: laptops, home printers, projectors, game consoles, phones, headphones, snack packages, coffee beans, milk, staple food packages, alcoholic beverages, tea, shower gel, shampoo, sanitary pads, tissues, toothpaste, laundry detergent, clothing and footwear brand 1,000 yuan no-threshold exchange voucher, infant formula, diapers, bedding, cookware, cups, dinnerware sets, etc.】
Great! She had not only given away benefits, but also introduced Gu’s star industries to everyone. Su Shiyi felt amazing. With this gift package, almost everyone could use it. The number of people calling her “mommy” in the comments section increased.
This was just what she had selected after careful consideration. The Gu family really ran a massive business. No wonder Gu Lang and Gu Chen were always so busy. Even with many excellent managers, there were still tons of decisions to be made personally.
The first two waves were set, now for the third. She decided to give away something she liked. She had a sudden idea and, after confirming with Kevin that her plan was feasible, she edited the final welfare Weibo.
【Are there any Disney fans here? Don’t you think amusement parks are too crowded, with long lines, and you never get to fully enjoy the rides? Repost this Weibo, and I’ll randomly pick 100 lucky ones. I’ll book the entire park for one day, and you all can come play in the Shanghai’s resort area. Each person can bring up to three family members, with round-trip flight tickets and accommodation at the themed hotel, plus a professional cameraman to take photos. You can eat, drink, and play freely inside the park, and I’ll cover the cost. Enjoy yourselves!】
