The salted fish substitute just wants to lie down Chapter 22

Zhou Yi’s premonition proved correct—Omega bodies are susceptible to the effects of Alpha pheromones, especially when exposed to someone like Shang Yichen, a high-quality Alpha. As Shang Yichen approached his Q period, his pheromones became a catalyst for Zhou Yi, whose own pheromone levels were severely lacking.

However, Zhou Yi, having little understanding of Omega biology, had no idea how significantly this would affect him. When his glands began to uncontrollably secrete pheromones, he realized the gravity of the situation.

He couldn’t remain in the living room for long. Desperate, Zhou Yi sprayed two bottles of pheromone eliminator to remove his scent from the air. But it wasn’t enough. Fleeing to his room, he overdosed on inhibitor medication in a futile attempt to control his body’s overwhelming response.

Even after taking so much of the inhibitor, it felt as though it had lost all effect on him. His body burned with a hunger he couldn’t suppress. The pain was excruciating—empty, painful, and suffocating, as though he were on fire.

Zhou Yi twisted and writhed in the bed, desperate to find relief, but no matter how he contorted his body, the heat inside him only intensified. Sweat soaked through his new pajamas, leaving dark stains on the sheets. The discomfort was far worse than the previous times—his body’s reaction stronger, the pain sharper. Even with the air conditioning at its lowest setting, he was drenched in sweat.

The overwhelming thirst for Alpha pheromones left him struggling to breathe. He could barely think clearly when a fleeting thought passed through his mind—the bottle of orange blossom perfume. He crawled from the cupboard, fumbling to grab it. He sprayed it several times in the air, and the room filled with the rich, sweet scent.

Unable to resist, Zhou Yi inhaled deeply, trembling as his body responded. He climaxed once more, but the brief wave of relief quickly gave way to an even greater emptiness. The familiar orange blossom scent, coupled with the excruciating pain, made him long for the tenderness he once felt when Liang Xianzhang held him. He remembered how he had been cherished, respected, and treated with care.

Now, it felt as though he had fallen from heaven to the deepest, darkest valley.

If only I had never been treated so gently, he thought bitterly. At least then, I wouldn’t feel this sharp ache from the gap between what I had and what I’ve lost.

Tears fell as he curled up on the floor, stretching out his fingers to wipe them away. But no matter how hard he tried, the tears kept coming, and he couldn’t stop them.

His glands surged again, releasing pheromones in a painful explosion. His vision blurred, his body felt like it was melting from the heat. The sweet scent of orange blossoms quickly faded as the intensity of his own pheromones overwhelmed it.

Zhou Yi, driven by a desperate craving, subconsciously thought, I need to find the source of this scent. His mind, hazy and unfocused, clung to the thought.

Somehow, his weak body found the strength to rise, and he stumbled toward the door. He had no clear plan, only the drive to seek out the comfort he so desperately needed.

Liang Xianzhang had just finished giving instructions to his secretary when a frantic, rapid knocking at the door broke his concentration.

He stopped speaking and moved toward the entrance. The moment he opened the door, Zhou Yi rushed into his arms, his body flushed, his pajamas soaked with sweat, and the sharp scent of mint and pheromones overwhelming the air. The faint trace of orange blossom perfume lingered as well.

Liang Xianzhang immediately understood what was happening. This was another Q period, but the reaction was much more intense than before. Zhou Yi seemed completely out of control, pressing into him, rubbing against him desperately, tears streaming down his face as he let out strained, unbearable sounds.

Instinctively, Liang Xianzhang held Zhou Yi close and began to release his own pheromones, using them to calm the chaos. His pheromone control was far better now than before, and he knew that Zhou Yi, in this state, needed Alpha pheromones to soothe his emotions.

As the pheromones enveloped Zhou Yi, his tears gradually stopped, and his frantic movements slowed. Taking advantage of the brief calm, Liang Xianzhang spoke to his secretary, his voice calm but firm. “Proceed as I said. We’ll deal with everything else later.”

His Beta secretary, surprised but composed, nodded. “Understood, Mr. Liang.”

Liang Xianzhang’s gaze returned to Zhou Yi, who had calmed somewhat but was still clinging to him, seeking comfort. It was clear Zhou Yi was no longer satisfied with just the scent of his pheromones. He was like a parched fish desperate for water, pressing his lips to Liang Xianzhang’s neck and face, his movements clumsy but insistent.

Liang Xianzhang noticed a faint trace of pheromones on Zhou Yi—pheromones that didn’t belong to him. His eyes darkened at once, the realization making him tense. Zhou Yi had clearly used something else in an attempt to relieve the pain.

Zhou Yi, now in an almost delirious state, started sobbing again, the overwhelming need for Alpha pheromones consuming him. Liang Xianzhang reached out, his hands finding Zhou Yi’s body. As Zhou Yi opened his unfocused eyes, he let out a soft, contented whimper. Liang Xianzhang knew he had reached his limit. His heart clenched as he watched Zhou Yi, so vulnerable and broken.

He tried to pull back, intending to take him to the bedroom, but Zhou Yi’s grip on him tightened. He refused to let go, his voice a desperate, incoherent plea. “Please… don’t… go…”

“I won’t go…” Liang Xianzhang sighed, gently pressing his lips to Zhou Yi’s forehead. “Don’t cry…”

He could feel the warmth of Zhou Yi’s body, the way his trembling subsided as he held him close. Zhou Yi’s mind seemed to wander as the pleasure from the pheromones flowed through his body. It was a sensation of physical and emotional satisfaction, as though all his aches and longings were finally being filled.

As Zhou Yi drifted into a haze of comfort, Liang Xianzhang stayed with him, offering reassurance through his presence and pheromones.

When Zhou Yi’s vision finally cleared, he found himself lying on his side, facing a bare chest. For a moment, he stared, disoriented, before realizing that he was in Liang Xianzhang’s arms.

“Awake?” Liang Xianzhang’s voice was soft as he looked down at Zhou Yi’s dazed expression, reaching out to gently touch his face.

Zhou Yi’s face flushed crimson as the events of the previous moments came rushing back. A wave of guilt flooded him—he had promised to stay away from Liang Xianzhang, yet here he was, unable to stop himself.

He felt a knot of shame in his stomach, not knowing whether to thank Liang Xianzhang or apologize for his weakness. He couldn’t bring himself to meet his gaze, lying stiffly in his arms.

Liang Xianzhang, ever perceptive, recognized the unease in Zhou Yi’s silence. “Do you want to thank me or apologize?” he asked, his voice gentle.

Zhou Yi bit his lip, unsure how to respond. His emotions were tangled, and he couldn’t find the words.

“No need to thank me or apologize,” Liang Xianzhang said, offering a small smile. “Let’s stay here tonight, just rest.”

Zhou Yi hesitated, thoughts of Shang Yichen creeping into his mind. If he doesn’t see me tonight, I’ll have no excuse for my absence…

But before he could voice his concerns, Liang Xianzhang, sensing his discomfort, spoke again. “Are you worried?” His gaze softened as he watched Zhou Yi’s conflicted expression.

Zhou Yi was about to speak when Liang Xianzhang’s voice cut through his thoughts. “He won’t come back. I’ve already taken care of it.”

As realization dawned, Zhou Yi blinked in surprise. Liang Xianzhang’s understanding of his feelings surprised him, but also reassured him in ways he couldn’t explain.

Liang Xianzhang smiled, his finger tracing Zhou Yi’s cheek softly. “Even if he does want to come back, I can stop him. You don’t need to worry.”
